Chapter 144

Jesse didn't want them to make a fuss at such a place. It was inappropriate and that was why she left Janet behind and started towards the place of the funeral.

Turning around, Arthur saw Jesse approaching him. Instantly, his face lit up with smiles and he waved at her. Jesse managed to smile back at him before going to meet with him.

It was just the priest, Gregg and some of his staff who were in attendance. Arthur was standing beside his father when Jesse came and stood beside him.

“Once again, accept my condolences.” Jesse muttered and Arthur nodded his head. She didn't know anyone else at the place except for Arthur. It was the reason she consoled him alone.

Since the funeral mass was still in progress, Arthur didn't introduce Jesse to his father yet. That would be after everything was over.

Jesse, on the other hand, did not ask. She didn't want to disrupt the mass and only had it in her mind to ask later.

Although she suspected the man standing next to Arthur to be his father.
