Chapter 02

"Go away, Althon!" said Agnes, one of Alicia's best friends. "Don't ruin this party with your presence. Look at you. We came in fancy clothes while you came in your dirty, smelly work uniform."

"Leave before I beat you up!" Kevin, one of Alvin's best friends, shouted. He suddenly shut up when Althon gave him a sharp look.

Althon gritted his teeth, trying to control his ragged breathing. He was often treated unfairly and humiliated in public, but he didn't accept this.

Althon approached Alicia and Alvin.

"W-what are you going to do, asshole? Get out of this place now!" Alvin took a step back. He was scared when he saw Althon's cold gaze. He had stopped bullying Althon after the man had beaten up his bodyguards and friends during his school days. He only dared to bully him through insults.

"Alicia, have you been playing me all this time?" Althon asked.

Alicia rolled her eyes. "If I was playing you, what would you have done to me, Althon? Are you going to beat me up? You should be grateful that I approached you even though I was just pretending."

Alvin threw a drink bottle at Althon, but Althon hit the bottle until it shattered into pieces.

Everyone was shocked, holding their breath.

"Get out of this place right now!" Alvin snorted in annoyance, staring at the broken bottle on the floor. "You fucking scum!"

Althon knew he could beat Alvin and his friends to a pulp, but he couldn't win against them because they had money and families to support them.

Althon was willing to quit his job just to save Alicia. However, he was humiliated by her. All his sacrifices were in vain. His pride was deeply hurt.

Alvin's friends began to sneer at Althon and asked him to leave.

Althon still stood where he was. "Before I go, I want to ask you, Alvin. Were you the one who told Alicia to approach me and play tricks on me?"

Alvin laughed. "Come on, Althon. You should be thanking me for getting close to my girlfriend. You've never been close to a woman and treated so well in your entire life, have you?"

"Alicia always gets upset whenever she tells me about her closeness with you. She says you're so disgusting and pathetic."

Alvin and his friends laughed.

Althon clenched his fists tightly, walking over. "I'll get back at you!"

"What can you do to get back at us?" Alvin laughed. "You're just a poor guy who has no one and nothing. You think I'll let you off the hook if you hurt me and my friends? Of course not! I'll make sure you rot in prison."

Althon walked up to Alvin, suddenly running.

"Guards!" Alvin shouted as he backed up and almost fell. His face was deathly pale with fear. "Get this scum out of this place right now!"

Two guards immediately ran and approached Althon. "Don't make a mess of this place, damn it!"

Althon knocked the two guards down with ease until they were lying on the floor. Alvin, Alicia, and their friends were shocked and moved away from Althon.

Althon punched Alvin until the man bounced, hit the wall, and collapsed on the floor. "I should have kicked your ass a long time ago, Alvin. Whine like a baby."

Althon felt quite relieved for beating Alvin up.

Alvin grimaced in pain, touching his bleeding nose and mouth. "What an asshole! I'll destroy you, Althon!"

"Althon, what are you doing? You've completely lost your mind!" Alicia shouted as she helped Alvin up. "Guards! Get rid of this scum right now! He's already made a mess and hurt my boyfriend!"

Six guards entered the room, running over to Althon.

Althon gave Alicia and Alvin a sharp look. "You don't need to kick me out. I'm going out now."

"Arrest that scum right now! He should be in jail!" Alvin shouted as he pointed at Althon.

Alvin immediately called the police, grimacing in pain. "What an asshole! That trash hit me really hard."

"You need to get back at that scum, Alvin," Kevin said.

Althon left the room in a hurry after overthrowing the guards. He ignored the stares of the people. He wanted to scream as loud as he could to let out all his frustration, but he realized it wouldn't change anything.

Althon looked down at his ring, watching his blood drip onto it. He didn't realize that it was flickering.

Althon got on his electric bike, leaving the club before the guards caught up with him. He stopped at the city park, sitting on a chair close to the lake. The rain suddenly poured down so hard that the park visitors ran away.

Althon still sat on the chair, letting the rain wash over him.

"I'm going to get in big trouble for hitting Alvin. He won't let me off so easily." Althon clenched his fists tightly. "I don't have a job now. I have to start my life over."

Althon let out a long breath, and leaned back in the chair, looking up at the sky. "Why is my life always miserable? Don't I deserve to be happy?"

Althon closed his eyes tightly, opening them when he remembered the incident at the club. He hated it when he saw Alicia and Alvin kissing.

Althon approached the lake, picked up a stone, and threw it to the other side. "There's no point in complaining. I have to get back to my life. Prison isn't the end of my life. In the end, the person I can trust the most is myself."

Althon checked his vibrating cell phone. "Alicia... I mean that crazy woman sent me a message."

[Althon, prepare to live in prison]

[You won't be able to escape]

[Alvin has already reported you to the police]

Althon chuckled as Alicia's face appeared on the surface of the rippling water. He threw a stone until the woman's face disappeared. "I'm too stupid to fall for your innocent face and sweet words, Alicia. You deserve to be with a jerk like Alvin."

"I'd better leave before the cops catch me." Althon got on his electric bike, preparing to leave.

Ten luxury cars entered the park gates, then pulled up not far from Althon.

Althon was surprised. "Who are they? Are they Alvin's men?"

The men in black suddenly got out of the cars at almost the same time. Shortly after, a car appeared and pulled over near Althon.

Althon drove his electric bicycle, but it suddenly broke down. "Why does this bike always break down at inopportune times?"

Althon got off as a man in fancy clothes got out of the car that had just pulled up. He took a few steps back, clenching his fists tightly.

"Who are you guys? Are you Alvin's men?"

The man in fancy clothes and all his subordinates suddenly bowed respectfully to Althon. The rain poured down even harder.

Althon was startled, took a few steps back, and looked around. "What's going on? Why are those people suddenly bowing? Are they bowing to me?"

The luxuriously dressed man began to stand up straight, approaching Althon. "Young Master, we have finally found you. Please come with us now."

"Who are you calling Young Master?" Althon settled the strange men in front of him.

"Young Master Althon, Please come with us. We will guide you to meet your grandfather at Paradise Mansion."

"Young Master Althon? My grandfather? Paradise Mansion?" Althon pointed at himself, confused. "Who the hell are you guys? Don't play tricks on me!"

"We came to pick you up. We can tell where you are by the ring you're wearing."

"My ring?" Althon took a few steps back, hiding his ring. "This ring is what my parents left me. Get out of my sight now."

"We will not leave until you come with us, Young Master."

Althon took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. "Stop playing games. I know you were sent by Alvin to arrest me. If you want to arrest me, you don't need to act and call me Young Master. I... I'm just an orphaned man who grew up in an orphanage. I don't know my parents, let alone my grandfather."

"We are subordinates of your grandfather, Master Anthony. He ordered us to search for his missing grandson."
