Chapter 03

Althon let out a long breath for the umpteenth time. "Listen to me carefully, sir. I've already had an awful day, and I hope you don't make my day even worse with your theatrics. Stop your theatrics and arrest me immediately."

"Young Master, we did not come to arrest you. We came to take you to meet your grandfather. We are not the envoys of the man named Alvin as you might think," said the thirty-year-old man.

Althon massaged his dizzy head. "You're stubborn."

"Young Master, touch your ring for three seconds until it blinks a few times. You will get information about you."

"Promise to stop acting after I do your ridiculous request." Althon touched the ring for three seconds. He was surprised when a holographic screen suddenly appeared in front of him. "What is this?"

Althon touched the holographic screen, but his hand went through the screen. He read the information on the screen. "Althon Leander. Is Leander my surname?"

Althon glanced at the man. "I was born in Okatown 24 years ago. My father's name is Arthur Leander, and my mother is Adele Leander. How does this screen have my picture on it?"

Althon pondered for some time. "The man named Arthur Leander has a face similar to mine. Is he really my father?"

Althon swiped the screen. "Anthony Leander, he... is my grandfather?"

"My name is Alan." The man bowed briefly, approaching Althon. "I am Master Anthony's trusted assistant."

"This ring has been with me for many years, but this is the first time it has displayed a hologram screen like it is now."

"Your ring activated after it was exposed to your blood. We managed to track your location from your ring's signal. When the ring activates, it scans the wearer. If you are not the owner, the ring will become inactive."

Althon looked at Alan and his guards intently, shaking his head several times. He was still hesitant to trust them. "I-I don't trust you guys. You must be Alvin's henchmen and part of his plan to destroy me."

"You can trust us, Young Master. We are not the enemy."

"Give me assurance that you are not the enemy." Althon let out a long breath. He was tired of this night and didn't want to be fooled by anyone again.

Alan threw down his watch and a gun. "This watch is worth one million dollars. You can take this watch as collateral. If you see us acting suspiciously, you can shoot us on sight."

Althon accepted the watch and the gun, looking at them closely. "This watch is a famous brand, but I don't know if it's real or not. This gun also looks real."

"You can point your ring at the watch and gun to determine their authenticity, Young Master."

Althon looked skeptical, but he pointed his ring at the watch and gun anyway. The holographic screen instantly displayed information about the watch and pistol. "This watch and gun are authentic. No, I can't trust this easily."

Althon pointed the ring at his electric bicycle. The screen displayed information related to the electric bike. "The screen even displays the status of my broken electric bike."

Althon looked at Alan and his army. "Are that man and his troop's envoy from my grandfather?"

Althon accidentally pointed the ring at one of the cars. "That car costs ten million dollars? That car does look very luxurious."

"I know Alvin comes from a wealthy family, but I'm sure he wouldn't be able to afford such a luxurious car, let alone ten of them."

Alvin touched the ring, and the hologram screen instantly closed. "Are you guys really envoys from my grandfather?"

Alan nodded. "That's right, Young Master."

Althon pondered for some time. If he stayed in this park, the police would arrest him. However, he didn't fully trust Alan and his troops yet. What should he do now?

Althon took a deep breath and put his watch and gun into his pockets. "Alright, I'll come with you. I'll shoot you if you get suspicious."

"Follow me, Young Master." Alan walked to the car, opening the door for Althon. "You can change your clothes in the car. We've provided plenty of clothes for you. If you need anything, you can tell me."

Althon entered the car, surprised to see the luxurious interior. "This is amazing. I've never entered a luxury car before."

Althon changed his clothes into new ones. "These clothes are very comfortable and must be very expensive."

Althon looked at Alan and his troops who were still outside. "If they use this luxury car for traveling, how rich is my family?"

Althon leaned back in his chair. "Don't be so delusional, Althon. They're just strangers. You can't trust them."

Alan sat next to Althon. "We're going to Paradise Mansion in Okatown now, Young Master."

"I don't know where Okatown is?"

"Okatown is in the state of Pixeland."

"Isn't it very far from this place?"

"You can rest easy, Young Master. We can get you to Pixeland quickly. You can rest now. We'll let you know when we arrive."

Althon, too tired to think, closed his eyes. "Alright, do as you please."

"You said that a man named Alvin would catch you. What has that man done, and what family is he from?"

"Alvin is the one who has been bullying me since school. He asked Alicia to pretend to be my girlfriend. They humiliated me at a club. I hit Alvin, and he was very angry with me."

"Alvin Julian, he comes from the Julian family."

"We'll make sure Alvin Julian never bothers you again."

Althon paid no attention to Alan's words. The group of cars left the park, speeding down the highway. Althon watched the cityscape until he finally fell asleep.

Shortly after Althon's departure, Alvin's men arrived at the park. They split up to capture Althon.

Althon woke up a few hours later. He surveyed his surroundings and was surprised to realize he wasn't in the car. "Where am I now?"

"You're on a plane, Young Master," Alan replied.

"Plane? How could I possibly be on a plane?" Althon was surprised when he peered outside through the airplane window. He saw the ocean and dots of light. "Since when have I been on a plane?"

"You've been on the plane since two hours ago, Young Master. You slept so soundly that I was afraid to wake you. The guards are taking you to the plane."

"W-was this plane my family's?"

"That's right, Young Master." Alan glanced at his watch. "We will soon arrive at one of the Leander family's main residences."

"One of the main residences?" Althon was surprised when he saw a luxurious building with a huge courtyard on the screen. "Is that my family's house?"

"That's right, Young Master. Your home is on Esa Island, an exclusive island owned by your family that no one enters."

"Esa Island? I've never heard of that island."

Althon didn't know how much he was surprised tonight. This whole thing was like a dream to him. He was just a poor man who had nothing before, but someone suddenly called him a young master and treated him like a king.

"Who is my family, Alan?"

"Master Anthony has the right to explain everything to you."

Althon couldn't wait to meet the man named Anthony. Was that man his grandfather? Even if this was all a trap, at least he had experienced being treated like a king.

"I must be crazy for following a stranger," Althon muttered as he leaned back in the chair. He scanned the cityscape, dozing off.

The plane landed in a large courtyard.

"We have arrived, Young Master," Alan said.

Althon peered out of the window. He saw a large fountain and a huge courtyard. "I'm going home?"

Althon walked down the stairs feeling tense. He was amazed to see a house like a palace with a large courtyard, towering trees, two large fountains, and a beautiful garden.

"Please follow me, Young Master."

Althon followed Alan, keeping an eye on the situation. Troops guarded him from all directions. He was tense, scared, and curious all at the same time.

"Young Master Althon is back!" shouted Alan suddenly.

Althon was surprised when Alan moved to the side, as did the guards who followed him. He saw the black-clad guards lining up on his left and right sides, bowing respectfully to him.

"What happened?" Althon had never gotten a welcome like this before. He pinched his arm very hard, blinking several times. "None of this is a dream. If Alvin spelled me, he must have spent a lot of money on the car, the plane, this mansion, and the bodyguards."

Althon walked with a feeling of dread. He held his breath when he saw an old man on the terrace with the bodyguards.

"My grandson, Althon, you're finally back."
