Chapter 05

"I planned to make Arthur the family's main heir. However, that plan fell through because I was swayed by the instigation of my three sons. When I found out that Arthur was completely innocent, I received news that Arthur, Adele, and you were in an accident that killed all three of you. But I believed that you were still alive, and that was proven by you being near me, Althon."

"I... I was so devastated that I fell ill. I did everything I could to search for your whereabouts, but I didn't get any results. I finally found out that it was my three sons who had gotten in the way of my search. They were also the masterminds behind the accident that would kill you and your parents. I was furious with them, but they denied that they were slandering Arthur, defaming him and his family."

"They took advantage of my weakened and sickly condition to take over the entire family fortune, including that of Arthur. I managed to save twenty percent of Arthur's wealth, and they"

"They got eighty percent of my father's fortune," Althon interrupted, clenching his fists tightly.

Althon clenched his fists until his jaw tightened. His eyes glinted with fierce anger. The pain caused by Alvin and Alicia's actions last night was nothing compared to the evil actions of his three uncles.

"Why were they so mean to me and my parent, Grandpa?"

"Envy has poisoned their consciences, Althon.

They don't care if Arthur and you are still part of their family. They even oppose me even though they pretend to be good boys in front of me."

Anthony grasped Althon's hand tightly. "Althon, I know I've made fatal mistakes in the past, but I'm trying to correct my mistakes even now."

Althon observed the picture of Arthur and Adele on the wall, looking at Anthony.

"Althon, you must take everything that is rightfully yours from your three uncles and their families. I will support you. Remember, although your three uncles and their families are your family, they will not hesitate to finish you off."

"Althon, the family gathering will happen in four months. You must learn many things and prepare yourself well before meeting your three uncles and their families. I'm pretty sure they won't let you take the treasure they've stolen."

Antony stood up. "Come with me, Althon. Before you face your three uncles, you must know them, and I am the one who knows them best. Although they are my sons, I want them to be punished for their crimes."

"Alan," Anthony called.

Alan came over, bowing respectfully.

"Althon, give your ring to Alan."

"What are you going to do with my ring, Grandpa?" asked Althon as he removed the ring. "Isn't that my ring?"

"It belongs to Arthur. He erased the data in the ring and set it to recognize you when your blood hits it."

Althon looked at the ring closely.

"Also, the ring has outdated technology. I have prepared a new ring that has more advanced technology."

Anthon gave the ring to Alan.

Alan handed Anthon a small box, standing behind Anthony.

Anthony opened the box. "Althon, this is your ring. It is a sign that you are a member of the Leander family."

Althon looked at the ring and put it on. The hologram screen suddenly lit up and scanned Althon.

[Welcome, Master Althon]

[I am Ansen, a system AI tasked with assisting you]

"This ring can talk." Althon was surprised, watching the screen that showed a holographic face.

"Ansen is an advanced system that will help and take care of you, Althon." Anthony coughed suddenly, touching his tight chest.

"Do the rest of the Leander family have advanced rings like mine, Grandpa?"

"Every family member has a ring, but the technology in your ring is more advanced than the technology in their rings."

Althon looked at the silver peacock engraved ring on his finger. "This ring is extraordinary. In some of the novels I've read, an MC will get a system that will grant a quest with rewards in the form of money and new abilities. Does this ring mean Ansen will also grant me a quest with the same rewards, Grandpa?"

Anthony smiled. "No, no. Ansen won't be giving you any quests. She's just there to help you and look after you. You already have wealth, Althon. So, you don't need to do anything dangerous to earn money. If you want to master a skill, you have to practice and study that field seriously."

Althon laughed. "I fantasize too much."

Anthony coughed a few times, touching his chest more tightly.

"Grandpa, are you okay?" Althon stood up from the chair, sitting back down when Anthony signaled.

"I'm fine." Anthony let out a long breath.

Althon and Anthony talked a lot about the Leander family, especially about Arnold, Aaron, and Andy and the crimes they had committed.

Althon read the information about all the Leander family members on the holographic screen. He clenched his fists tightly when he saw Arnold, Aaron, and Andy. "They are very evil people. They don't even hesitate to harm and kill their own family. I will avenge everything they did to me and my parents."

"I have Four male cousins and three female cousins. Two are older than me, three are the same age as me, and two are younger than me. "They have lived a very happy life so far, while I have had to live a tough life."

Anthony sat in a wheelchair. "Althon, come with me. I'll show you your parents' room and their belongings."

Althon entered a very large room. He was still surprised at the grand and luxurious decor of the room.

Althon walked around every corner of the room. Feelings of emotion and longing instantly engulfed him. He missed his parents.

Althon picked up a picture, smiling when he saw Arthur and Adele smiling. "Mom, Dad, I hope we can meet soon."

"You can find Arthur's clothes in this closet, Althon," Anthony said.

Althon quickly ran to the closet, smiling when he saw the neatly arranged clothes, shoes, and accessories.

"This is your father's jacket." Anthony handed Althon a jacket. "It's worn out and has holes in it, but Arthur wore it a lot. He always wanted to look modest."

Althon looked at the shirt, pants, shoes, watch, necklace, and bracelet.

"Can I wear all these clothes and accessories, Grandpa?"

"Of course. Everything your father owned is yours."

Althon grabbed a T-shirt, pants, a black bracelet, and a headband. He hurried to the restroom and then returned with a new look. "How do I look, Grandpa? Do I look good in... Grandpa?"

Anthony suddenly cried until his body shook.

"Grandpa." Althon rushed over, holding Anthony. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, Althon." Anthony wiped away the tears, smiling. "You look so much like Arthur. I'm glad you're here."

Althon looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was dressed in the style of his father in a photograph. "I am indeed your son, Grandpa. I will never leave you again."

Anthony held Althon's hand tightly. "Althon, your presence must remain a secret for now. Don't let your uncles know that you are still alive."

"Calm down, Grandpa. I will not lose to those evil men. I promise I will punish them all."
