The three individuals went into the primary room. Barrett recognized the significance of the large empty rectangle in the center of the room as soon as he saw it because the tables had been arranged in such a way as to create it.
No matter how thoroughly they attempted to clean that location, it had an overwhelming odor of blood and perspiration.
At the far end of the room, several staircases supported a makeshift throne that was occupied by a guy dressed in a green silk robe embroidered with gold flowers.
“Barrett, the Barbaric, the undefeated, the invincible... The traitor!” The man with a glass of whiskey in his hand said.
Barrett advanced and looked at him directly, the man was smiling, and on all his fingers, he had gold rings that gleamed against the lamp in the room.
“You are a legend…” the man said, smiling.
Barrett advanced. After kneeling down, he said, “Nice to see you, Danyio….”
The man let out a hearty laugh before replying, “Manners… that is useless for a man of your lineage….” He shook his head, “Stop. The only thing that interests me about you is your hands. Sahid says that you still have victory in yourself, but it is little. I want to know if it’s true!”
Barrett turned his gaze towards the direction of the sound and saw the young woman grinning as she sat at a table.
He nodded. Barrett came to the conclusion that he was wasting his time by attempting to excel in an area in which he had no natural talent.
“Tell me, who do I have to smash in the face to end this?” Barrett asked, smiling.
“That looks more like you, although you are missing something. I don’t know what it is. But we will find out soon,” Danyio said as he looked at him with a smile.
One of the side doors was opened, and a man walked out. He was wearing blue jean pants that were bonded to the leather, and he was wearing athletic shoes.
His upper body was exposed, revealing a well-developed muscle structure behind the dense mane of hair that covered it.
“You called me, Danyio?” The man said, smiling as he looked ahead.
The man on top of the throne looked at him and said, “Luke, it’s good that you’re here. Are you recovered yet?”
The man nodded.
“Is he the one to face me?” He asked when he noticed Barrett.
Barrett took a good look at the man and noticed that he had an appealing face, complete with a trim beard, eyes that were focused on him, and well-combed black hair.
He did not look like the usual fighters in the Hole.
“He doesn’t have much for me!” The man remarked, grinning confidently.
Let’s see if you can still grin like that when I am done fighting with you, Barrett thought with clenched fists.
“This is the deal, Barrett! If you can last three minutes without shitting yourself or dying with Luke, then I will consider that you can go to the bottom of my ranking and start climbing. What do you think?” the Danyio said.
Barrett looked at him, and with a smile, he asked, “What if I break this asshole’s head off? Will I take his place?”
“Yes, exactly. If you open his head, you can be in his place...” Damyio said, contemplating.
Barrett nodded and, seeing the man began to take off his shirt. He left it on a table beside the woman.
“Be careful…” the woman whispered.
Barrett rolled his eyes and turned around, and put himself on guard.
The individual who was standing in front of him appeared disinterested and irritated as if being forced to engage in combat with Barrett was not only an affront to him but also a form of retribution.
Barrett brought his palms together in a fist. He appeared to be enjoying himself as he glanced ahead as though it were nothing out of the ordinary.
The Danyio gave the signal to start, and Barrett launched himself against the man without stopping.
However, when he was some distance away, a shadow rose from the ground and landed directly in front of his face.
When Barrett saw Luke kick the air with such force that it would have severed his head off, he was able to halt in time to avoid being hit.
Barrett took a few steps back and noticed Danyio’s grin. The man standing in front of Barrett was pretty powerful and undoubtedly placed among the top in the ranking.
Defeating him would be the key to his getting rich quickly and making money.
Barrett looked forward without breaking eye contact. Even though he hadn’t scored a hit yet, the opponent Luke was up against appeared to have won the fight by the look on his face.
Barrett gripped his hands tightly. He was aware that if he were to prevail over this opponent, he would move much closer to first place and the financial reward that came along with it.
And with lightning quickness, he thrust his weight forward and started moving in the forward direction.
Luke was falling more behind with each step that Barrett took, and although he was moving quickly across a relatively short distance.
Luke’s posture was shifting more quickly than Barrett could react to the change.
While he saw him, he was prepared to execute a kick lateral that, when leaving an impact in the den that Barrett had climbed, he was going to attempt to take down.
Barrett was looking for a significant impact, and he got exactly what he was hoping for.
Because he had to move his feet backward in order to maintain his equilibrium, he was completely unaware that his body had run into the table.
Barrett stared at the table, and in his head, a large number of stakes were lodged in his body.
This was one of the combat modalities that were available in the underworld.
The man broadly grinned while staring straight ahead as if the other person had somehow read his thinking.
“You’re going to pay for that!” Barrett yelled as he hurriedly got up.
Grabbing the chair, he hurled it at Luke with tremendous force, but the wrestler leaping into the air, easily blew it apart with a kick.
However, Barrett had already established a strong relationship with him. He used the distraction to close in and melee. He was aware that the man was not capable of delivering those powerful kicks.
From close range, Barrett landed two punches straight at Luke’s stomach that hit hard, and from there, he unleashed a strong uppercut that hit his opponent square in the jaw.
Luke pushed his body back from the blow, and Barrett, feeling like the winner, opened his eyes only to see how Luke hit the ground with his hand and putting all the weight of his body on his hand, he raised his feet with force towards the ground Barrett’s face
Terrified, Barrett raised his guard and took the impact in his arms, but the blow was so strong that he knocked him down anyway.
On the ground, from the back of his head, blood began to come out, and without being able to believe it, he looked at Luke.
On his face, there was also blood, and from the floor, he heard Abdul’s laughter.“The Barbaric fighting with technique and short shots to reduce damage. Who are you?”Barrett got up, and his body was sore. If they saw Luke’s face, he seemed more hurt. However, Barrett felt severe pain on the side of his head while Luke seemed to move. This is bad… Barrett thought to himself. The image of his daughters came to his mind, and remembering Mustafa, he launched himself with everything he had in front of him.As he advanced, his mind repeated only one idea.My body will react, my body will react! He was sure that, as with Mustafa, his body was going to react without problems. Luke waited for him, and he could see how he moved. The inclination of his body and the way the kick would go for him.His kinesthetic vision kicked in, and he could easily predict Luke’s strike. The kick would come up from behind to land on his head, but Barrett anticipated the moment.Barrett attempted to inflict s
Barrett’s alarm went off, but he was already awake and ready to go. Barrett was wide awake at five o’clock in the morning since he had been unable to get to sleep any time throughout the previous night. When he looked around, he noticed that many of the cots were already totally occupied by people who were getting ready to work.Everyone who slept there had some way, or another lost their way in life and deserved what they got.Barrett looked at them. In Abdul’s eyes, they were simply paying their debt with work.“If I were you, I would get up. After all, the food is not enough for everyone again!” One of them said, walking.Barrett nodded. Even though he wasn’t hungry, he knew that because of the way he worked, it was important for him to maintain a healthy diet.Strolling out of the warehouse where the other workers slept, he joined them in walking out to the pier where they were waiting to line up.Barrett looked at Luke, the man he had fought the previous day, with a sense of wond
“All Abdul’s workers owe him. Before, he used to kill those who didn’t pay him, but since the Danyios took over the city, the man understood that making them work was better than just killing them,” she said as she sat next to Barrett.“So all these people owe Abdul debts!” Barrett said with wide eyes. He just realized that Abdul was way greedier than before. She nodded and said, “Many are gambling debts. Others do not have to pay rent or loans, and many are simply people who give after people to pay debts.”Barrett looked around, surprised.“And what is he doing here?” Barrett asked, pointing at Luke.“Well, Luke was a ranked fighter. He was pretty high, but he lost four times in a row, causing Abdul to lose property and business, so Abdul took the cost of his business from Luke’s earnings, leaving him with nothing, and gave him the offer that he could walk away with nothing or fight and win! Luke is a competitor, so he chose the winning option, bet a lot of money on his victory, and
“What do you mean, if I had taken the phone, he was going to take my winnings from the fight?” Barrett asked as he stopped and looked at the seeing the girl. She looked at him and said, “Yes, it’s the rule. He sets the prices for his things. That’s why nobody here does anything or lends anything for free!”“What is this advice of yours going to cost me?” Barrett asked while looking at her doubtfully. She said, smiling, “Nothing. I see you don’t understand your situation. Go do what you think you should do, and when you crash face to the ground, look for me, I’ll help you, and we’ll talk business... By the way, the foreman’s right has a jump previous on the shoulder. Without that, you will not be able to get out of the way!”Barrett looked at the young woman, and she walked away.Even though he did not have a complete understanding of the circumstance in which he found himself, he did recognize that the location in which he found himself was not ideal.Because of this, he quickly avert
The evening arrived, and inside the dining room, they served dinner while everyone stood in line to receive it. After obtaining their meals, the vast majority of them would head to a remote area of the expansive location to eat. Barrett accepted the food, and as he moved near the wall to sit on the floor, he became aware of Mina and discovered that she was entertaining. She was occupying the floor space, and she was eating with vigor. Well, at least the floor looked clean, Barrett thought to himself. “Do you mind if I sit down?” Barrett smilingly asked after approaching her. When Mina saw him, she smiled and waved her hand in greeting. “Go ahead!” she said, muffled as her mouth was full of mashed potatoes. He sat down and examined the food that was on her plate. There was a lot of stuff on it, and the food appeared to be of high quality. “Is this really the usual food here?” Barrett asked, surprised. Earlier, he was doubtful about getting much, so he did not. Mina nodded. She
Barrett looked at her, and her eyes were attentive to the screen. He was surprised to see how she deeply enjoyed the fight and saw the screen again.Barrett said, “I think you can’t know that without fighting, Del Rio’s muscles are more defined, and the force he can generate exceeds Grand’s."The girl looked at him with a smile and said, “Let’s make a deal. If Grand wins this fight, you will do me a favor, whatever I want. But if Del Rio wins it, then I’ll do you a favor, whichever you want!”Barrett took a deep breath and said, “Fine as you like, but don’t think I won’t charge you for the favor!”She looked at him and nodded. She continued eating with her hands like a little girl, the fight continued, and Del Rio harassed Grand with quick and circular movements.Del Rio’s Capoeira was tremendous, and Grand had no opening. However, Barrett, seeing what was happening, began to notice how Del Rio’s speed decreased. The fighter with the braids put his hands on the ground again, raised bo
She took a deep breath and said, “I’ll show you! Do you want to have a little match?”Luke stood up and immediately removed his shirt when he did so.Seeing Barrett, he nodded and entering the rectangle, the girl said, “Okay, we will do two rounds. The first one will be for a punch, whoever hits first wins. The second will be for a takedown, whoever takes down first wins, is that clear?”Barrett nodded. Luke moved closer after gaining a direct view of him. Barrett saw his kick go up without any ceremony, and he quickly dove to the ground. He was successful in landing a strike to Barrett's stomach, and then he quickly retreated while smirking. His gaze turned to see Mina, who was looking at him shaking her head.Barrett eyes widened in confusion. His eyes saw another huge kick going straight for his head.Barrett couldn’t dodge it in time, and when he received it, his mind went blank, and his eyes closed. He felt a bucket of water fall on his face and got up.He looked at Luke, who w
Barrett looked at the clock, his fight was the third of the night, unbelievably far from the main fight, but at least he had a chance to move on.However, he couldn’t stop thinking about how difficult it had been to face Luke, and now in front of him, he had a person who was clearly stronger than Luke.Mina’s voice bounced in his mind, with classic words of support and warnings that he could not forget, that when he went up to that ring, his life and that of his daughters would be at stake and that he could not let it happen. In the old days, if he lost his record, he would go to hell, but that didn’t matter to him.Losing didn’t symbolize too much in his mind, but now, losing meant not being able to get the necessary money, and that couldn’t be allowed to happen.A man with a cap and a red vest entered the room, where he waited for his turn.Even if you were ranked one hundredth in the ranking, being a member of the ranking provided you with two benefits that were unavailable to thos
