Chapter 4

Elliot cleared his throat. He was stunned. Unbelievable. "I will have more than 100 million dollars." He had never even seen how much money 100 million dollars would bring into his account.

"Did you forget the surname I just mentioned?" Marcus raised one eyebrow, thinking Elliot should be a little proud.

Elliot fell silent again when he realized. "Oh, yeah, right. The Rodriguez family." He muttered almost inaudibly. He couldn't possibly forget the family name that was famous all over the world.

Elliot had heard a lot about the Rodriguez family. A family that is famous for being extraordinary and very secretive. Even because of that, Elliot did not realize that the old man he saved earlier was Markus Rodriguez.

Even so, Elliot still could not believe it completely. He looked at Markus with a suspicious face. "But, am I really your grandson? You could be making it up to trick me."

Elliot was wary of every bad possibility that might happen because he didn't want the events of a few months ago to repeat themselves when someone claimed to be Hani's brother and asked for money. Foolishly, he immediately gave a loan without asking Hani first so Elliot lost quite a lot of money which made Hani furious with him.

"No, Master. You are the grandson of lord Marcus." Dony answered with a convincing tone of voice that made Elliot pause.

"Is that money fake? You saw the money in your account yourself, right?" Marcus raised one eyebrow.

Elliot nodded his head. The money in his account was indeed real, not a fake proof of transaction technology that others used to cheat. The email notification was genuine evidence and Elliot had seen the amount himself.

"We'd better talk about this somewhere else." Marcus stroked his arm while shuddering from the cold. "My body has cooled down a bit." He also looked at Elliot who was soaking wet. "You must be getting cold too."

"Okay. Come, Lord." Dony raised one hand for Marcus to go first, followed by Elliot behind him.

They all got into a very luxurious and expensive Rolls-Royce car. That made Elliot's heart flutter as it was his first time getting into a luxury car like this.

Twenty minutes later, they finally arrived at a very large house with towering pillars. A luxurious house with a large courtyard and dominated by white color with classic European style.

"Wow, this house is huge. I've only ever seen it on television." Elliot cast his eyes around, staring in amazement at the sight before him.

The house was quite far from the city center and he had heard rumors from people that there was a huge house with acres of land in the area near the hill. The person who owns the house is a very rich man, and apparently the house belongs to his family.

The trellis fence with the Rodriguez family's distinctive logo of a dragon's head was emblazoned on it. A black fence with a carved dragon head with a high security system. Elliot had heard that there was a special device that could detect and recognize the faces of the people in the house, so that if a stranger tried to enter, the fence would automatically send high voltage electricity.

Dozens of men, dressed in black, bowed as the car began to slowly pull in and stopped in the large yard of the house. The three of them got out of the car.

Marcus raised his hand to point at the whitewashed house. "This is our home."

Of course that left Elliot stunned, swallowing saliva with difficulty. He was speechless, unable to put into words how much he was amazed. They entered the mansion.

There were so many female servants dressed in black and white, bowing their bodies to welcome them. Of course that made Elliot even more amazed. This was truly an experience he had never had before.

"These are all the servants in the house. You can count on them to do anything you need." Marcus pointed at the servants there. "Dony, help Elliot to clean himself up and change clothes."

"Ah, no need." Elliot shook his head quickly. I am a grown man and I can take care of myself."

Marcus chuckled at Elliot's words. He was too happy to even forget that Elliot was a grown man who was married and of course could take care of himself.

Marcus nodded his head. "Alright, then take him up to his room."

Dony nodded his head respectfully. "Yes, Lord." He raised one hand to Elliot. "Come, Master."

Dony led Elliot to the door of the room. As the door opened, Elliot's eyes widened perfectly. The room was so spacious that it was many times larger than the size of the house he lived in with Hani.

"Excuse me, Master." Dony excused himself from Elliot's presence. The black-bearded man was so polite and respectful to his young master.

Elliot chuckled at the sight of his room which looked so magnificent with furniture that was very expensive and certainly of the highest quality. He glanced around the room, then opened the large wardrobe that had many luxurious clothes and suits inside.

His body shuddered again from the cold. Without wasting time, Elliot immediately cleaned himself with warm water, and used the clothes that were already available in the closet. His appearance changed instantly. Elliot couldn't even believe that he could wear expensive clothes that he could only see displayed in the glass cabinets of big malls.

"This is amazing." Elliot muttered under his breath, mesmerized by his own appearance. He combed his hair neatly, then walked out of the room with a radiant look on his face. "So, am I this rich?"

Not long after, Dony came back to him in a very polite and respectful manner. "Excuse me, Master. Lord Marcus wants to see you."

Elliot only responded with a nod of his head. Elliot walked ahead of Dony, meeting his grandfather in one of the very large rooms. Elliot saw Markus standing looking at a sizable picture frame on the wall of the room.

Elliot approached the white-haired old man and frowned when he noticed the portrait in the picture frame. "Is that Dad?"

"Yes, that's your father." Marcus smiled a little in response to Elliot's question, staying focused without turning his gaze from the picture frame.

Elliot looked around him. There were so many picture frames there, that his eyes stopped at one that showed a family portrait. He touched the photo which caught Mark's attention.

"That was the last time the family photo was taken. Your father, your grandmother, and me." Marcus' voice sounded a little soft as he looked at the family portrait that held so many memories.

Elliot nodded slowly. There were a lot of posters on the wall and some on the table, showing portraits of Jonas from childhood to adulthood and it was then that he knew how his father looked, exactly the same face he had last seen before his parents died.

"So, you really are my grandfather." Elliot mumbled softly looking at his father's picture.

Of course it made Marcus immediately look at Elliot with a rough exhale. "Yeah, I've been saying that for a while now."

Elliot didn't fully believe it at first, but when he saw his father's adult portrait, Elliot accepted that he was indeed Mark's grandson.

Elliot did not respond anymore to his grandfather's words. He looked back at the other picture frames, feeling a certain warmth when he saw his father's radiant and handsome face. But suddenly, his eyes turned wide when he saw one of the portraits on the wall.

Elliot saw that there was a necklace worn by his father there. "That necklace is ...."

"That's the Rodriguez family necklace that was passed down to the next generation." Marcus picked up the frame and showed it to Elliot. "Jonas was still wearing it when he left. I think he still has it or it may have been passed on to you."

Elliot felt uncomfortable as he looked at Markus. He put the painting frame back into Marcus's hands. "Looks like I have to go back home."

Marcus’ brow furrowed deeply. "What for?"

"Because the necklace is at home." Elliot turned his face the other way to hide his agitation. "I left it at work for fear of losing it." He looked back at Marcus. "I kept it in the drawer in my room."

Marcus nodded his head in agreement with Elliot's request. "Well, take the necklace since it's a legacy from your father."

Elliot nodded. Markus agreed for Elliot to go back home accompanied by Dony. They immediately got into the car and headed for the house where Elliot lived with Hani.

Thirty minutes later, they finally arrived in front of a type 65 house that looked deserted. Elliot walked into the house, looked around and exhaled a rough breath. He still couldn't believe that his wife had cheated on him.

This house holds so many memories that he can no longer live in. Dony also went inside with Elliot. But at the same time, Elliot saw Hani together with Tom sitting on the sofa in the living room. Of course, Elliot's arrival made Hani jump in shock.

"You bastard. How dare you still want to come back to this house. Shameless!" Hani threw the sofa cushion right into Elliot's face. He raised his chin haughtily. "Oh, I know. You must have come here to beg me, hoping I'd forgive you after what you did to Tom, right?" Hani laughed mockingly at Elliot. "Don't count on it!" She folded her arms across her chest with a hateful look on her face, staring at Elliot like an enemy. "Or did you come here to take the things that are here? You thief."
