Chapter 5

Elliot's eyes stared intently at Hani. "I'm not a thief."

Tom, who was sitting casually on the sofa, chuckled at Elliot's answer. "If you're not a thief, what did you come here for?" He raised his eyebrows upwards. "Remember, you're no longer Hani's husband. So, you have no reason to come here."

Hani snorted in annoyance at her ex-husband's words. She felt irritated. "I know you're just making excuses, Elliot. I'm sure you still like me, and you came here to wish me back to you, right? Don't expect it, Elliot!"

Hani looked at Elliot with hatred. She would never go back to her ex-husband. Even if the man in front of her begged, Hani would not yield. She had suffered enough in one year of marriage together with Elliot.

"I'm just here to get my stuff." Elliot walked into the house, reluctant to argue any longer.

However, Hani blocked his body and shoved him roughly. "You're shameless." Hani chuckled in annoyance. "You can't take things here because this is all my stuff."

Of course, that made Elliot feel furious. "Not everything. I also contributed to the contents of this house."

Hani laughed at that. She couldn't even remember which items Elliot had bought, whereas almost everything in this house was new, and she had bought it herself using the money Tom had given her.

Hani wiped her tears after laughing. "Don't dream, Elliot. How much do you make? You're just an ordinary employee. Can't afford all the stuff here." She pointed at the closet by the door. "You think with that salary, you can afford this nice closet? I'm not."

Tom stroked the soft sofa he was sitting on. "You think this soft sofa, bought with your money, sucks?"

"Bed and everything else." Hani raised one eyebrow while folding her arms in front of her chest, haughty. "I bought it all with the money Tom gave me."

Hani snorted in annoyance. Her face was flushed, and showed great resentment towards Elliot. No matter how long they were married, with Elliot's status as an ordinary employee and his small income, they would never be able to afford the nice things in this house. Even the glass cabinet cost twice as much as Elliot's one-month salary.

Hani shook her head with a cynical face. "Your salary isn't much, and it's often used up just for food." He again approached Elliot while raising his head arrogantly. "With your situation, you should be able to realize that you have so many shortcomings."

Tom chuckled and got up from the sofa. He shoved his hands into his pants pockets, glaring at Elliot sarcastically. "You are such a stupid man. You think this big television is from you too?" He chuckled and shook his head. "Of course not. I bought it because you were unable to give Hani what she wanted. Such a boring, lousy man."

Tom seemed proud that some of the expensive and nice things in the house were gifts from him. Even so, it didn't mean that all the items in this house belonged to Hani because Elliot had also bought kitchenware and whatnot. It's just that Hani doesn't consider those things valuable compared to what Tom gave her.

Elliot's jaw hardened. She didn't even know when he had given these things to her. "You are a bad man. Is this the reward for what I did for your company?"

"What are you doing?" Tom frowned, feeling that Elliot had never done anything for his company. "My company got this big because of my abilities. It wasn't for the help of anyone, let alone someone like you."

Tom shook his head with that sly smile, looking down at Elliot. "You're an idiot and don't know anything about business. Don't feel superior because you've done so much. What I told you to do was your actual job. In other words, you didn't do anything useful for the development of my company."

Elliot squeezed his hands together in annoyance. He knows how Tom works. Tom didn't even do anything in the office, and he mostly told Elliot to do everything. The blond man was a typical idiot, but because he had a lot of money, he could do anything.

Elliot often did a lot of work that should have been done by Tom, such as checking the approval documents. Tom had just signed it without checking the file, and the blond man didn't know what was in the files. Elliot's chest felt hot again when he remembered that. He was always multitasking and bringing work home, not even remembering to take a break. However, everything he had done so far was treated poorly. When Elliot wanted to protest, Tom fired him instead. And stupid Elliot, he only realized how bad Tom and Hani were.

Elliot thought there was no more time to argue with them. He ignored Hani and Tom, quickly walking up the stairs, which made Hani yell in annoyance. "What are you doing, damn it! Stop right there and now. You thieves."

Tom and Hani rushed after Elliot. Hani couldn't stop yelling, calling Eliot a thief, and her yelling even echoed.

Elliot immediately opened a drawer in his room and took out a necklace that belonged to his father, which Hani and Tom happened to see.

Hani was intrigued by the necklace she had just seen. She frowned, noticed the necklace in Elliot's hand, and pointed at it. "You want to take my necklace? You thief. Give it back to me."

Elliot gave Hani a sharp look. "This is my necklace, not yours."

Hani snorted in annoyance. "Give me that necklace, damn it." She moved quickly, about to take the necklace from Elliot's hand, but Elliot immediately brushed her hand away.

Elliot quickly stuffed the necklace into his pants. Elliot rushed out of the room and down the stairs. Of course, that made Hani even more inflamed. Hani didn't accept it and chased after the man again, pulling Elliot's hand to stop.

Elliot threw Hani's hand away. "I don't care about these two scum anymore," Elliot emphasized his sentence. "My life is much more extraordinary than yours."

The last sentence he showed Tom suddenly made Tom immediately laugh mockingly at Elliot. "Incredible as garbage in a dump. Being poor, having no job, no place to live, and no one to turn to. Isn't life a very extraordinary suffering?"

"Where are you going? Give me back that necklace. That's mine." Hani raised her hand, acting as if the necklace was hers.

Elliot ignored Hani's request. Of course, it made Hani so very angry. The woman picked up a vase of flowers and then threw it at Elliot. She also grabbed other items, but Elliot could dodge them quickly.

Seeing that made Tom also feel even more annoyed at Elliot. "Hey, are your ears deaf? Hani said to return the necklace right now, damn it. You thief!"

Tom raised his hand, about to punch Elliot. But that just repeated the same mistake. Elliot was able to quickly dodge and beat Tom repeatedly, even more viciously than the beating in the company parking lot.

Tom's face, which Hani had just treated, received multiple wounds and made the blonde man's face even more battered and filled with blood. Hani, who tried to block Elliot this time, also got a reply. Elliot pushed Hani's body, sending her crashing to the floor.

Elliot exhaled, looking at Tom and Hani with a sharp look in his eyes. "Don't let me see you again because by then, I will destroy you."

"Destroy?" With torn lips, Tom still opened his voice. "Just watch. You'll be chased by the police for doing something like this to me."

Elliot twisted his body. "Just do it." He glanced at them from the side. "You won't be able to do that."

Elliot ignored those who continued to babble and threaten him. Everything they said was meaningless. Elliot rushed out of the room and down the stairs.

"You won't be able to run away from here, Elliot." Hani helped Tom to get up. "We should report it to the police immediately."

Tom nodded his head. With limping steps, they chased after Elliot. The two of them descended the stairs slowly. Hani felt both annoyed and sorry for Tom. If it weren't for Tom's help walking, Hani would have been quicker to catch up with Elliot and get the necklace. However, his steps were hindered by the man.

"Hey, stop, you bastard!" Hani shouted out loud. But Elliot continued to ignore her.

When they finally reached the front of the house, Elliot was already far ahead of them. Elliot opened the car door, looked at the two traitors, and then got into the dark gray Rolls-Royce that shocked Tom and Hani with wide eyes.

"What? No way." Hani held up her hand, pointing at the luxury car that drove with Elliot in it. "He just got into that car, right?" Hani shook her head in disbelief. "How can he drive such a luxurious car?"
