CHAPTER 18

A LITTLE FIST FIGHT

The moment they finished eating. Maven helped the chef, Abigail, clear the table so everyone else was seated and having fun. Thomas saw that his wife had cleared the table, and he quickly ran up to her with the glasses in his hand.

“That was a good meal, Abigail." He complimented the chef. A shy smile escaped her face.

“Thank you, Mr. Thomas. They never see my effort in this house; I hope they one day see it." She said that, and then a smile suddenly disappeared from her face. They washed the plates while grandma and her sons sat with Sabastian talking about business.

Sabastian, on the other hand, could not for a second stop bragging about how wealthy his family was. His voice and words made Maven angry even more. She couldn’t hide the pang of hatred that built up in her heart.

At this point, Thomas’ phone began to ring. He wiped the leather from his hands, pulled the phone out of his back pocket, and cupped the top of the phone with his hand to get the caller ID
