I DON'T LIKE HIM Grandma sat on her couch with legs stretched forward when David entered the living room. “Have you come with any evidence?” grandma asked David the moment she caught sight of David walking inside. “I don't have yet”. David answered. “Then why are you here? If Maven is responsible for what happened like you said then you should have some sort of evidence to back up your points isn't that so David?” Grandma didn't raise her up at him for a second. “I have plans to dig out the truth from her. Trust me when I say this is all Maven's plan to run off with the company funds”. David was very much assertive. “You can't be so sure”. Grandma raised her eyes to look at him for a minute. “Look I have seen games like this play out and the Maven that I know is too weak to.plan such except ahw is getting help from someone”. Grandma's eyebrows were raised to the peak as she spoke about Maven. “Things like this should be investigated before being brought out. Maven has n
EVERYONE'S A SUSPECT Maven was seated on her lush sit, stretching from long hours of working when the knock came on her door. With the secret guards Thomas had mounted at her door she isn’t scared of having any nonchalant visit from her uncles or David. Grandma seldom shows up in the office during working hours so she isn’t scared at all. When the door opens and she finds Officer Joshua strolling in, his intimidating figure maneuvering its ways through the door, she had a brilliant smile starched on her face waiting to receive him. “Good day Ms. Taylor, you seem to have a very busy day”. He spoke to her. “Good afternoon officer Josh. Any update yet?” She asked him with her eyes dancing and taking his face at the same time for a hint that would console her doubts. If her family name isn’t cleared out from the heavy lips of bloggers it was going to be a lifetime stigma on them. For now no client or investor had threatened to withdraw operations and she could tell that they were al
A HINTOfficer Joshua looked over at the time on his phone. Just a little past four seven O’clock in the evening/ He’d taken a short dinner while he awaited Raymond’s call for the evening operation they had landed out.Opening the drawer in front of him right by the side of his bed in a little country old home. He sighs in relief, relating to the stress and pain he has to face to get the truth from all his investigations. The cell phone on the short night stand suddenly begins to chime like a little baby toy.He looks over, stretching his legs and hands out of place to get the phone. Apparently there is nothing he could do about David at the moment until he is sure with evidence of course. He grabs the cell phone and places it to his ear. “Hello” he speaks in a very clear but croaky tone.‘Well, I have been waiting for your call, give me a minute’. He spoke into the phone before letting it lay down on the stand again. Rushing to his wardrobe with the speed of light he grabs his cloak
THIS IS NOT THE TIMEJoshua was out of the door before Ray could know it.“The idiot doesn’t even want to wait for me any longer”. He says as he staggers to get up from his seat. Rushing out of the cold and cozy room he brushes the empty can off the table and when he gets to the hallway he hurries to meet Josh.“You can’t come with me like this”. Josh said, running a quick eye on his colleague who is now a mess.“Why can’t I come with you? I am very strong and I can see everything clearly”. He answered by wiping off the stains of liquor from his mouth.Joshua places his hand on Ray’s neck, studying his face for another minute to be sure he isn’t hallucinating. “No buddy, look at you, all drowsy and sleepy, it won’t tell well of our profession.” As he spoke his hand ran through the pocket. He pulls out his wallet and counts a few dollar notes.“She is a hundred bucks, get a taxi”. He said and patted him on the shoulder before jumping into the van.“But you can’t go on this alone—”Ray s
DEEP INVESTIGATION Josh has the desk littered with files and documents and pictures from the scene. He’d had a sleepless night trying to add one or two dots together. There is no way a CIA will have no clue on a case like this and from the words of the victim’s wife he had listened keenly, everyone now thinks Maven is the cause of this. But to get the facts straight she is actually innocent. He rummaged through the files tracing a finger on the list he had in his hand. His eyes fixated on the paper that he didn’t notice Ray had walked in. “Still on the case?” He asked, causing Joshua to look up for the very first time in a long while. “It’s draining man, take a look, new stories every day and the suspects did a great job in hiding all the tracks,” he answered with drooling shoulders.“Do you think we can even make a convincing report this week? The state Sheriff wants to know how far we’ve gone with investigations and you know how cruel he can be when it comes to matters like this
OUT FOR THE TRUTHJogging up the hospital stairs Josh had only one motive in y; to get to the root of the matter once and for all. There was little chaos in his heart as to whether the step was a right or wrong one but at this point it didn’t really matter how he was going to dig out the truth from them. Under this investigation he had decided not to wear his uniform until he was sure he wasn't being followed or watched by anyone. He took only the last step, landing himself in the elevator hallway. Large hall filled with outpatients, nursed well-wishers and all you can think of. He punched in the button to the fourth floor where the victims were kept. The two men are in the same room with their wives looking at them. His heart pounding against hos chest like an earthquake or a volcano was going to happen if he didn’t reach there on time. Luckily for him he got to the fourth floor without delay. The nurse who had tried to woo him the other night had been replaced by another who obv
AN INTERVIEW The sun was a bit hot when Davis stepped out. He had arranged for a secret meeting with the press. He drove the car speedily and packed right in front of the press house. He stepped out of the car wearing his sun shades and his suit. He smiled at himself and at what he was about to do. A little honk front, the car before locking it up. The two ladies assigned were already standing by the side waiting for him. He had called them earlier to tell them he would stop by the press house. By then officer Joshua was parked outside watching him as he took the woman's hands one after the other in a firm handshake. “Good day Mr. David, good to have you here”. The ladies greeted him in unison, he nodded at them and followed their lead. “This way sir”. They told him and he began to walk straight up to the direction the ladies went. He adjusted his suit and followed them. They walked through a long hallway leading to other rooms. Then when they got to the main transmission room t
A SUSPECT Since the news was finally going to spread round town David had the broadest smile on his face. This isn’t going to take anything away from him but it would definitely do a lot of harm to Maven and her profile. That was just the only motivation he was having. Now he had done what Sebastian has always wanted and what he too thought was good enough to ruin her reputation. No one was ever going to believe her and no one would believe her ever. After the interview he shook hands with Mr. Morgan and then got up to leave. They thanked him for coming then assigned one of the ladies to walk him out to his car. David had the greatest joy that he is able to achieve this great mission now. He is sure in his mind that his grandma and the family will be very proud of his decision to speak to the news men. The moment he got out Officer Josh brought his camera out and began to make videos of him. Of course he never forgets to take his pictures for evidence too. He watched him get into
