Chapter Eighteen

The pungent smell of the hospital irritated his nose. Doctors and nurses minded their business. A man dressed in a hospital guard uniform was staring at him with looks that could kill.

For half an hour, he cried helplessly for help. Eventually realizing they were serious about not treating him, he embraced the pain and was waiting patiently for the authority to arrive, hopefully in prison, they would give him some painkillers.

Groaning in pain, he whispered, “where are you, Brianna?”

Brianna was speaking to the dean. He was on his knees, trembling, his eyes avoiding Brianna’s. Brianna threatened to sue him and the college if he didn’t unravel what happened.

The dean implored, “yes, ma’am. We will.”

“We?” She fired.

“So..rry, Ma’am. I.” He stuttered.

Brianna clutched her phone tighter and touched her ear when she heard Troy speaking, “I am outside.”
