Ivy woke up late that day, so she quickly came to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but to her surprise, Mollie had already finished cooking it.

“W-What are you doing here?” Ivy looked at the items. “Did you cook all these?”

“Yeah, you were sleeping, so I thought I should help,” Mollie said.

Ivy frowned. “You should have woken me up, but you made use of the situation to cook this crap. You think they’re going to eat what you made when you haven’t cooked in years?”

“Your husband grew up with the food I made, Ivy,” Mollie retorted. “Even after your marriage, who made you food? Didn’t you quarrel with your husband, saying that you don’t want to cook or clean? Didn’t you go back to your house and stay there for months? By God’s grace, you changed your mind because you got pregnant. Otherwise, you probably would have taken divorce back then, right?”

“Don’t put words in my mouth!” Ivy hissed at her. She would have shouted, but she didn’t want others to hear their quarrel.

As Ulmer served Calvin and Fiona, Mollie served her son Jamie. All three of them tried the salad first because it was more eye-catching compared to the other two dishes.Calvin hesitantly tasted the dish, but his impression immediately changed. Fiona also looked at him, and they nodded together. Their body language clearly told Ivy that they were satisfied by its taste.Ivy waited for Jamie’s response. And Jamie faintly smiled at his mother after tasting the salad. Though he didn’t say a word, Ivy could see that he liked the salad.Just Mollie served the salad to Ivy and said, “Actually, my daughter-in-law tasted the salad first and then added some salt, so she’s also responsible for its taste.”Calvin and Fiona looked at Ivy, forcing her to smile awkwardly.(Is she trying to embarrass me?) Ivy quickly tasted it and didn’t find any excess saltiness to it. (What the… I’m sure I added extra salt to ruin its taste, so why does it taste the same as before? Did she somehow remove the salt?

A few minutes after Jamie and others finished their breakfast, Amelie and Ben separately had the breakfast, and Amelie was all praises for Mollie and asked her if it’d be possible for her to teach Amelie how to cook.“Uh, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Mollie said, knowing all the hurdles before her. Firstly, Ivy might get extremely jealous and angry if Amelie were to learn from Mollie. And this might upset Ben, too.“Why not?” Amelie asked, clueless about the relationship between Ivy and Mollie. “Ben, don’t you want me to cook like this for you?”“Yeah, but I know how to cook, so I will cook for you, Amelie,” Ben said.“Huh, I ate the omelet you cooked once. There was so much oil in it that I felt my tongue and mouth burning,” Amelie said. “You should also learn from your grandmother along with me.”Ben was unable to counter that.Meanwhile, Ulmer was talking with Calvin in the backyard.“This house isn’t as big as the mansion I grew up in,” Calvin said, “but it’s not a bad place

Ulmer was talking with Calvin, so he didn’t notice the snake attacking Mollie, but the moment she screamed, he dashed toward her like wind. After biting Mollie, the cobra went for Fiona straight away.Fiona fell back in shock, and the cobra raised its hood and scared the shit out of her. As it went for a bite on Fiona’s foot, Ulmer suddenly appeared and caught it by the head and squeezed it.The snake’s head was crushed, and it died right away. Ulmer tossed it aside and quickly took a look at Mollie’s bite. He could see the nasty double bite mark and beyond it. The venom was spreading fast through the blood as well as the muscle.“U-Ulmer…” Mollie looked very nervous. She might be old, but clearly, she was afraid of dying.Ulmer immediately bit on the wound and sucked the blood and venom out. By the time Calvin arrived there with his sick knees, Ulmer finished spitting the blood out.“Don’t worry, Grandma,” Ulmer told her. “We will go to the hospital soon. Nothing will happen to you.

Though Mollie was bitten by a snake and was scared of dying, she felt happy as she was coming out of the hospital, holding her grandsons’ arms on either side. This was something she never thought was possible, so she said, “Both of you are family, but also try to be friends. Never turn your backs toward each other no matter how difficult the situation of the other person is. That is what friends and family are there for.”“Grandma, let’s be frank,” Ben was having none of it. “We are going to live in different places, working different jobs. We will barely have time to meet each other, so being friends is a bit too much to ask for, don’t you think?”However, Mollie smiled. “During the early days of my marriage, your grandfather Mike had to work far away, so I had to stay home all by myself. I was still waiting for him so much that I would mix sugar in place of salt, or pepper in place of sugar. I would mess up the dishes because I would think about him all the time. Call it love or obs

After they finished eating, the bill was brought to the table. It cost over 800 dollars. Seeing Jamie leave, Ulmer was taking his purse out, but Fiona gently pushed his hand down.Calvin then paid with his credit card, and he paid fifty dollars each to the four waiters. He also told the manager a column in the R & R newspaper will be written on this ice cream shop soon, for which the manager thanked him beforehand. As everybody was getting into the cars, Ulmer told Mollie, “I have some work, so I’ll be back home by nighttime.”“You can do that work tomorrow, right?” Mollie said. “Just focus on recovery for today.”“I’m feeling just fine, Grandma, so don’t worry about me,” Ulmer shut the door, and both the cars drove away.Ulmer waited until the cars were almost disappearing from his view, and then he started jogging at a high pace, hoping that he’d be targeted again. At the same time, he sent a message to the original Ulmer to find out if anybody in Syslon knew about the organization

Ulmer was thinking of teleporting himself to Jake later and dealing with him, but then Whitley appeared out of nowhere and saved him.And she also was wearing the same earrings. They were small earrings, and one would need to get a better look at them to even recognize the skulls, but Ulmer was able to see them clearly at first glance.Ulmer also wanted to extract information from Whitley, so he didn’t know what else to do other than try to flirt with Whitley. He had experience in flirting, though all of his previous dates ended up becoming fruitless later on.“I don’t believe in love at first sight, but for some reason, I believe your words,” Whitley said. “What do you do in general?”“I don’t do anything in general,” he replied. “I mean, I don’t have a job yet.”“Ah, I see,” Whitley could understand the meaning behind his words. (He came from Syslon, so of course, he doesn’t have a job. Should I just give him a job in my shop?) “I own a cafe. Want to work there under me?”“That’d be

Ulmer sat down on the couch and waited until Jamie slept. And he teleported himself into Jamie’s room.Jamie put the mobile under his pillow, so Ulmer had to be careful when taking it out. After he successfully got his hands on his mobile, he wanted to leave, but he looked at Ivy and Jamie sleeping on the same bed, and it made him remember his parents.Taking a deep breath, he left the room just the way he came.Ulmer then checked on his grandmother who was still sleeping. The swelling on her arm was still there. He gently touched the injured spot, and the swelling subsided pretty quickly.Ulmer looked at the table next to her bed and saw the apples, bananas and grapes. “Now you don’t have to eat so little, Grandma,” he thought. “Just wait a little longer… until I prepare a new home for us. Then you’ll be living with a new family. I’m sure you’ll like Suki and Kale.”A few minutes later.Ulmer brought a bedsheet and mat to the rooftop where Ben was talking with Amelie. It was already

“Why are you so interested in what I do?” Ulmer asked, seemingly out of curiosity.Ben did not expect such a question from Ulmer.“Well, you’re my brother. Do I no need a special reason to help you or what?” Ben snorted. “Honestly, I feel bad for you because of what happened to your parents and sisters. But you still don’t seem to be taking your life seriously. Time doesn’t wait for anyone, Ulmer. Don’t waste your time in some shitty cafe, serving stupid customers who are addicted to drinking coffee and eating cupcakes.”Ulmer somewhat smiled. While Ulmer could tell that Ben didn’t really love him, he also felt like Ben still somewhat cared for Ulmer in his own twisted way.“I appreciate your concern, Ben,” Ulmer said. “I really do. But a job is something that I have to be passionate about, or I will be the one who’ll suffer there every day. So, what job I do in the future is up to me. His gaze felt intimidating. “I-Isn’t there too much age gap between you two?”“What bullshit are you saying, Ivy?” Mollie snorted. “My grandson is not even thirty, and you say there’s an age gap? Can’t you see that they both look nice next to one another? Also, it’s actually nice if there's a five to six year gap between the husband and wife.”Mollie gently held Ayana’s cheeks and lifted up her head.“Where did you hide such a pretty girl all this time from us, Ulmer?” Mollie said. “You will get punished for this later.”“Ulmer always talks greatly about you, Grandmother,” Ayana said. “So, please forgive him this once.”“Hahaha,” Mollie laughed heartily. “Your wife is already defending you so much, Ulmer. That’s my job, after all,” Irvi said. “No matter how wicked a person may be, if they come to my doorstep, I will not turn my back toward them.”Ulmer slightly bowed his head to her and walked out onto the balcony of that building, where Minerva’s dad, Neodus was present.“I t
