It’s a Trap!

While they ate quietly, Tricia couldn’t stop staring at Jason who constantly tried to avoid having any eye contact with her. Her eye gestures and her smile were a bit awkward, and she didn’t mind gawking at him while holding onto her cutleries.

“Jay? Are you okay?” Brenda broke the silence in the hall, realizing that Jason had suddenly stopped eating while he bent his face to the table. Tricia stopped looking at him as soon as she saw that Brenda was turning to look at her.

“I am fine.”

“Don’t you like the food?”

“Of course, I do! Annie is a wonderful chef!”

“Then what’s the problem? You were enjoying the food a while ago.”

“I am fine, maybe I just need some water.” Jason attempted to grab the the jug of water in front of him, but Brenda grabbed it before him because it was closer to him.

“Let me help you.” Brenda poured some water into Jason’s glass and handed it over to him.

“Thank you.” Jason said calmly after returning the glass to her.

“Are you okay, now?”

“Yeah.
