The Wager

Those words got to Philip, and he would have loved to pounce on Jason immediately. He walked up to Jason who stood beside the staircase waiting for him and gave him a stern look.

“You really think so highly of yourself, huh?”

“Well, you never can tell, I could be just more than you ever imagined.” Jason retorted with a smirk, but his words only made Philip scoff, and he looked down on him with so much disdain.

“You made me look like a fool before my father-in-law,” Philip said in annoyance, but Jason chose not to say anything at that moment, he only maintained a smile that he didn't want to discard.

“You really think this is funny, you waltz in here and think you can turn us against each other, do you know who I am?”

Jason looked at Philip from the crown of his hair to the sole of his shoes, but he said nothing, only his smile showed that he was having fun.
