Young meets Old

Jason went to his Grandfather’s door the next morning and knocked twice before he listened attentively with his left ear leaning closer to the door.

“Come in.” Lord Walker’s voice resonated from inside the room, and Jason pulled the handle of the door before walking into the room.

“Good Morning Grandpa.” He greeted the old man who was already seated on his wheelchair with a magazine in his hands.

“Jason? You are back.”

“Yes, Granda. I came back last night.”

“Oh, yes. Harry said you were going to be back last night when I asked of you. I was wondering where you went to.”

“I had to take care of something, Grandpa.”

“Mmh? Something more important than your old man?”

“Of course, not. You know you are the only one I have left apart from my son. You can’t possibly think that I would forget about you.” Jason grabbed the seat close to the table by the corner of the room and sat close to his Grandfather who dropped the magazine on his legs and placed his hands on top of it.
