Chapter 7

The voice belonged to Jane, one of Miranda's friends who's a banker in Diamond bank. Jane would never pass on the opportunity to throw shades at him and demean him. Countless times she has told her friend to divorce Liam but Miranda wouldn't listen.

“Look, Jane or whatever it is that you call yourself. Don't you ever call me names again or you'll regret it.” Liam could no longer take the insults and had to tell her off.

But since they were not yet inside the banking hall, Jane decided not to let him in.

“It's best that you go back home because no one will attend to you. Not when they find out that your account probably contains only a few hundred dollars.”

“Ma'am, do you know this man? Is there a problem here?”

The security guard who had been listening to their conversations decided to find out what was going on.

“Yes, I know him and it's such a shame.” Jane snorted coldly with a sneer on her face.

Turning to the guard, she instructed him. “Escort him to the door, someone like him is not welcome here. I don't even know why you let him in.”

Although Liam was a man who physically looked taller and stronger than the guard, the man was not afraid to drag him out. “Mr. You have to leave this place now.”

“You both will regret this.” Liam assured them as he took out his phone to make a call. However, Jane began to laugh at him.

“What can you possibly do and who are you even calling?”

“You'll see.”

While still outside the gate, Liam placed a call across and the manager of Diamond bank and he came out. He looked remorseful and quite angry that a big customer was being kept outside by some unscrupulous people.

“Please come in, Mr Sawyer. I'm so sorry for whatever that must have transpired in my absence. Tell me what happened?”

Turning to the stunned guard and Jane who looked lost and confused, he inquired furiously.

“Miss Jane, what have you done?”

“I… I… I didn't… uh, what is going on Sir.” Jane began to stammer as she cast each of them a puzzled look.

“Since you can't explain what happened, I'll help you.” Liam was smiling as he spoke in a calm voice. He was obviously enjoying the frustration and confusion on the lady's face. The security guard means nothing to him.

He was surely going to get his reward for the insults.

“She's been insulting me and throwing demeaning words at me. Well, not just her.” Liam glared at the guard who was already making a pleading gesture.

“He also disrespected me and I want them fired now.”

Jane's jaws dropped. She could still not comprehend what was happening before her.

Why was the ugly and worthless live-in son-in-law of the Westons family being treated like an important person by her manager? Liam was even asking him to fire her. What right does he have?

And why was he referred to as Mr. Sawyer?

Liam saw the hesitancy on the man's face as he was asked to fire Jane.

Jane was one of their best bankers and had brought in a lot of rich customers to put their money in diamond banks. Ofcourse, she has her way of getting them to open an account with their bank. It would be hard to find her replacement.

“Well, if you think that she's more valuable than I am, then I'll pull out all my money and you would also lose your job as well.”

“Oh, no. Please Mr Sawyer, I'll fire them right away.”

It was better for Jane and to lose their job than him losing his. Swiftly, he said to Jane. “I'm sorry Miss Jane, you're fired. You have to get your things and leave here immediately.”

Turning to the guard who had fallen on his knees, seriously pleading, Mr. Clinton paid no heed to his pleas. “Next time, don't look down on people. Leave my presence.”

While Clinton led Liam into the bank, it dawned on Jane that she was not dreaming.

It was happening before her face. Liam had just gotten her fired.

Instantly, reality flashed before her face and she began to plead. “Please Liam. Sorry, Sir. It won't happen again. Don't let me lose my job. Remember that I'm your wife's friend.”

Liam paused in his tracks and turned to Jane who was still giving him a pleading look. He said coldly to her. “If you breathe a word of what happened here to my wife and her family then losing your job would be a tip of the iceberg on what I will do to you.”

With that, Liam disappeared into the banking hall with the manager. After a few minutes, Liam was out of the bank and a call came in immediately.

It was Bruce calling him.

“Young master, your message has been delivered.”

The call ended afterwards and Liam had a satisfied smile on his face. He was beginning to fulfill his promises to his wife.

Liam was going to make her the envy of the Westons family.

As he marched out of the bank he got another call from the company. It was his manager calling.

“Boss, Navey interiors are here and I think their designs are great.”

“What about Top notch interiors?” Liam asked without taking the man's initial words into consideration.

“They are on their way now. They called earlier.”

“Ok, wait for me.”

Although it was almost the close of work, Liam took a cab to the company and carefully got into his office through the back door. Since he was not ready to reveal his identity to his staff for fear that someone would snitch on him, he decided to always go through the back door.

Once he was in his office, he went through the design brought by Navey interiors.

“It's nice but we have to see the others, then we can make our decision on which to go for.”

“Ok Sir.”

While Piper made her way to LR real estate company, she bumped into her rival, Nathan Harvey. He was the owner of Navey interiors.

Although a small company, they seemed to be gaining a huge momentum and was now in a competition with the almighty Top notch interiors.

The two stopped their cars briefly to challenge each other.

“If you ask me, I'd say that you're wasting your time because LR will surely choose Navey interiors. Well, our designs are Top notch and I think you should consider dropping that name.”

“I'm already looking forward to working with LR.”

“We'll see then”

Piper didn't say much and kicked off to LR.

A while later, Mr Sean came to meet up with her after he had gone through her designs..

Swiftly, she stood up from her seat and raced to meet up with Mr Sean beaming with seductive smiles.

“So tell me. What do you think about the design? I'm sure that your boss will like it. Tell me when I'll be coming back to sign the contract.”

Puzzled, Mr Sean stared at Piper with furrowed brows. He clearly didn't like her attitude and would not consider giving her the contract if it was in his place.

She was clearly flirtatious and would do anything to get the deal.

“Calm down Miss.” Sean spoke with a forced smile and got the lady nodding.

“Ok, I'm calm. Now tell me the good news.”

Mr. Sean let out a deep sigh before addressing her. “The boss will carefully scrutinize it and I'll get back to you. However, I'd advise that you don't put your hopes so high. Anything can happen.”
