Chapter 6: Gagg Them All!

The event that just unfolded left the Rodriguezs in a surreal state of disbelief as if trapped in a dream or a whimsical journey to an imaginary realm. Enveloped in confusion, their minds drifted into an emptiness of thoughts.

The sounds of gunshots in the air shattered the illusion, forcing them to the harsh reality as they instinctively dropped to the ground, shivering.

The powerful man, who had just referred to Angelo as "MASTER" brought out a device resembling a pen from his suit pocket. With swift precision, he pressed it against Angelo's arm, administering a shot that worked like a magical elixir, instantly filling him with strength. Angelo, who moments ago had been left incapacitated, now stood on his own two feet, restored to full strength as if untouched by the recent turmoil.

A security detail, bearing a majestic white coat adorned with 24-carat diamonds, approached with regal grace. The glittering coat, a symbol of power and authority, was brought before Angelo. The powerful man, displaying reverence to mirror the moment, bowed to Angelo before placing the coat on him from behind. The soldiers at this time were all kneeling on one knee with heads bowed as they paid homage to their king, Angelo Bruno.

The three helicopters hovering over the estate engaged in acrobatic maneuvers, releasing flares into the sky. The illuminated sky signaled a message across Sicily, a message that would send shockwaves across the entire country.

THE KING OF KINGS IN ITALY HAS FINALLY RETURNED TO TAKE HIS THRONE.

The recognition of this iconic signal struck fear and fright in those who understood its significance—The Angels, the most powerful family in all of Italy, had returned after 20 years of disappearance.

Angelo, now adorned in the resplendent coat, turned to his right-hand man, Brandon Martinez.

"Thank you, Brandon. You may now all rise." The order marked the end of their submissive posture, and as the soldiers stood, the acknowledgment of Angelo's return rippled through the air.

Angelo has finally made his true identity known and has returned to the power and majesty of his family. Who could have thought the same Angelo who was oppressed, humiliated, and trashed was a man of such status and caliber?

He closed his eyes for a few seconds, then inhaled deeply and exhaled loudly immersing him in the reality of his return.

"It feels good to finally embrace my true identity. This is raw power."

"True, master. We've all waited patiently for this day to come, and it's our privilege to witness it — your majestic return." The powerful man who he identified as Brandon Martinez said to him reverencing him like he was a god of some sort.

Brandon, a loyal and steadfast companion during Angelo's absence, had overseen the Angels’ Kingdom in his stead. Angelo was just ten years old when the Angels’ Empire went under. He had lost his father tragically during that period, and his mother followed shortly during the birth of Annabel. Before the death of his father, his father had instructed that the kingdom go under for a while, giving his children the opportunity to live among the commons in Italy like they were also commons. And when the time was right, then they would resurface and his son would rule the kingdom to greater heights.

From growing up in an orphanage to hustling in the streets of Sicily, Angelo did all he could to take care of his baby sister as his sole responsibility. Without proper education and academic qualifications, he performed one menial job after the other to meet up with his and Annabel's survival.

Living in the hood and the street, Angelo spent years enduring the horrors of a mafia-ruled Italy on all levels. All along, he worked hard enough to keep his true identity and status concealed while he covertly learned of all that Italy had become. Everything he had witnessed going on in Italy never really got to him enough to unmask his true identity until now.

Now, facing the trembling and prostrate Rodriguez, Angelo's demeanor shifted. He approached them, urging them to rise from the ground.

"Oh. Look who's on the ground now, huh?" He mocked them, bringing them back to how they most frequently reminded him that he belonged to the ground and they belonged in the sky.

"How the tides have changed in the blink of an eye. Now get your sorry asses up." He commanded them.

Fear gripped the Rodriguezs as they quickly jumped up to their feet fearing to look Angelo in the eyes. This was their good-for-nothing gold-digging son-in-law who wasn't any better than the trash on their waste bag, but now he was a different man almost like they were having a terrible and even impossible nightmare. To make matters even worse for them, they remained unsure of Angelo's intentions.

Stella Rodriguez, Trisha's mother, seized the opportunity to deflect blame onto her husband, Baron Rodriguez. Tears streamed down their faces as she begged for mercy.

"Angelo…sorry, I mean, Master Angelo. Have mercy on us, we didn't mean to treat you so badly." She continued crying and pleading with her husband using his head and hand gestures to support her.

"I've always known you loved my daughter and she loved you, but Baron sowed the seeds of discord. He is the cause of everything, I only followed along because he is my husband."

"You lying woman. Shut your mouth. See Angelo…sorry, Gentle Don. She cooked up most of the ideas. Like…like…killing Cortez to persuade Trisha to sign the papers." Baron Rodriguez, in turn, accused Stella of complicity in the nefarious plan, throwing shares of the blame on her too.

"No, our son did that. It was all Jack's idea, that wasn't me." Stella quickly defended herself, ratting her first son.

The heated argument escalated, evolving into a physical confrontation between them as they pushed blame from one person to another. As they grappled with each other, one of Angelo's security details intervened, delivering a decisive punch to Baron Rodriguez's face to quell the chaos.

"How wicked you too are. You sold your only daughter off like a piece of property to a notorious mafia boss for your gains, and now you're here throwing your sons under the bus just to save your lives. Is there anyone you love more than your selfish selves?" Angelo feeling irritated by their irresponsible and wicked behaviour, questioned their character as parents.

"BRANDON, GAGG THEM ALL AND LET'S GO HOME."
