Meanwhile, at the Slytherin mansion, Amy Slytherin was having a heated argument with her brother-in-law over the current update.
Aiden had gotten the news that Slytherin Empire now had a new CEO, a position that he ought to have taken in his brother's absence, and he was furious. He drove to the Slytherin mansion that morning to see Amy and hoped that the news he heard was fake, and someone was playing a trick on him. "Of course, I made him the CEO, what else do you want to know?" Amy asked Aiden with a quizzical expression, she was seated on the living room couch with an apathetic expression. Ever since her husband disappeared two months ago, she saw how eager Aiden was to take over the role of acting CEO in his absence. Before now, she always felt like Aiden was jealous of his brother's success and would do anything to take what was his. Even though Aston made him one of the senior associates, she couldn't help but feel that Aiden wanted more. If Aston doesn't trust his brother well enough to make him a managing director, why should she trust him? Seeing Oscar was a dream come true for her, because she was left with no other choice but to declare Aiden the acting CEO. Because as far as culture and politics were involved, he was the next heir since she had no son. "What else do I want to know?" Aiden asked her, his voice was loud enough to be heard from the outside. "What I want to know, Amy is why you made a total stranger the CEO... "Correction," she interjected, "I made my son, the true Slytherin heir, I made him the acting CEO." She added and crossed her legs before sipping from the glass of wine on her table. Her sassy behaviour was targeted at making Aiden more offended, and showing him that she never had an interest in making him CEO. "If I remember correctly," she continued, "You were the one who mentioned that it's only right for the next of kin to play that role, we found the next of kin, so why does it bother you so much?" "A random man you found on the street last night, Amy?" Aiden snapped with a disappointed expression, "For all we know, he may not even be a true Slytherin, you just assumed that. You are only doing this because Aston gave you so much power over the company... "Yes, Aiden," Amy stood up and looked at her brother-in-law directly into the eyes, "I am second, and yes I decide what goes and what doesn't. Since the so-called culture of your people will not let me take over, I've given it to my son, because I can, and there is nothing anyone can do about it." She concluded and walked passed him. If she doesn't end this conversation, Aiden will make it last long enough, until they come to a conclusion that will favour him. Just as she headed for the stairs, Aiden uttered, "You will regret doing this, Amy." The lady paused, turned to her brother-in-law, and with a disdainful glare, she replied, "If you dare try to lay a hand on my son, Aiden, you will see a side to me that you have never seen before." "I have gone through hell in the hands of your family, I've been accused of being the cause of my son's disappearance when it was your brother's fault, your family still blame me for your brother's disappearance, and they blame me for his ill health. Your family stops at nothing to make me look like a bad person, but I have survived and I have had enough." Amy lamented while trying not to cry. "Just touch Oscar, and trust me Aiden, I will end your life, and it's not just a threat. I will do it... "I have just recorded your statement, you had better stop speaking now, or you will find yourself facing the law," Aiden warned her, holding up his phone as proof. "Haha," Amy laughed menacingly, "Record my voice over and over again, and I will say it, I'll end you if you touch Oscar, your family will no longer treat me like a wimp." She concluded and walked up the stairs. She had had enough and could only thank the heavens that Oscar was brought to her last night. She also had doubts about Oscar being her son, but she didn't want to change her mind. Oscar was under her control and would only do what she asked him to do, and to Amy, that was a hundred times better than someone with a diabolical plot that she knew nothing about. It may sound crazy but yes, she trusted a total stranger over her brother-in-law. As for Aiden, he just stood downstairs thinking about what had happened, he was so upset that he wanted to strangle Oscar on the spot even though he had not seen him. He couldn't believe that the once silent Amy was now more prideful and powerful than ever, and he blamed his brother for all of this. "If only he had made me second after him, none of this would be happening right now," He thought, with a frown plastered on his face. "But no, he chose to give it to his wife, a woman! for Christ's sake who gives such a post to a woman?" He almost threw his phone across the room in anger. "Oscar huh?" He mumbled, "I don't care what you say, Amy, threatening me from now till tomorrow will not stop me from doing what I must do. I'll get rid of Oscar, and as for you Amy, I know just how to take care of you." He thought to himself with an evil smirk. He searched through the contacts on his phone, and as soon as he saw who he was looking for, he dialled the number, "Hello, I have another job for you." He said with a menacing grin."Mom! Mom!" Ellen called as she walked into the house, she met her father sitting on the couch with a laptop on his lap."Is everything okay?" He asked her,"Your mother has just gone to the room, it's past 2 pm and you know that she loves to take a nap by this time for absolutely no reason.""Haha," Ellen laughed,"Anyway, is Oscar around?""No, I haven't seen that one since last night, he didn't bother coming back home, as if he knew that I was going to send him packing." His father replied and Ellen chuckled."Why are you looking for him though?" He asked her."Oh, just wanted to confirm, I got these papers from Karen's assistant earlier today and you wouldn't believe what it is." She said and took it out from the brown envelope, before giving it to her father."What's this?" He asked, taking it from her."A divorce paper," she said and laughed,"I can't believe that idiot tore the divorce papers I gave to him and sent me another one today, well jokes on him, I'm willing to sign it
The meeting ended after nearly four hours, it was an acquisition target business meeting, they spent time speaking on the position of their target in the market, and there was so much deliberation on how and how not to begin. Oscar, who wasn't entirely new to the process, stayed silent for most of the conversation. He only said a few things whenever someone asked for his opinion, and that was it. The meeting ended without a definite conclusion, as it was to continue virtually until they reached a final decision. They had to take care of current investors and a few prospective partners for the time being. As soon as Oscar walked out of the conference room, he sighed heavily. He had a lot to learn if he was going to play a good role as acting CEO, because the sooner they found out that he didn't know so much, the sooner they'd use his head. "How was the meeting, sir?" Leo, who had been in his office until five minutes ago, asked when Oscar stepped out of the elevator on the ground f
On his way back to the Slytherin's mansion, Oscar couldn't overlook the jewel shop he saw along the way. The name of the store caught his attention especially because they make the most beautiful and expensive jewelry in West Arcadia. He recalled how many times Ellen had told him that she wanted to visit this place, to purchase one of the most expensive Neal Diamond rings. For Oscar back then, buying a ring worth over two hundred million dollars was the last thing he'd ever think of. But with his current net worth, Oscar knew that he could buy one hundred of it if he wanted, and would still remain rich. But what was the point? Ellen was no longer with him, except... "Turn the car," He ordered the driver and Leo couldn't help but ask, "Did you forget something?" "No, I mean back to the jewellery shop, I need to get something from there if you don't mind," He replied, and Leo couldn't help but marvel at how respectful Oscar was, despite how much he had acquired overnight. "As so
Walking into the store, Loe could not believe the crowd he saw gathered at the front section of the store where a few watches were on display. "Oh dear God," He uttered and rushed towards the scene, worried that something has happened to his boss, Loe was already freaking out so much. As he got to the scene, Leo noticed that Oscar was still standing and he looked fine, but the problem at hand was the fact that numerous people were accusing him of theft. "I'm sorry what's going on?" He asked one of the customers to confirm what was going on so he'd know how to intervene. "Oh, this man came into the store to buy something with money he stole from his boss... "What the hell?" Leo exclaimed, "And Oscar being such a nice man, wouldn't even try to defend himself properly, sigh, at least this has given him a clear image of what this place is like." Leo thought to himself before taking out his phone. "Excuse me!" He finally made his way through the crowd to the centre of attent
Thursday came faster than expected, and this was the day Oscar had been waiting for. Leo ordered the Neal diamond ring which was brought to Oscar that morning, and he was delighted to have it. It will serve as an element of surprise for Ellen. Before going to the office, Oscar had reviewed the companies, and he knew how much influence he had over who and who would not become partners with the Slytherin Empire. "Are you ready, sir?" Leo asked as he came to check up on him and to confirm whether or not he was ready to go. "Oh, I am very ready to go," Oscar answered with a mischievous smirk. He picked up the ring box and took out the Neal diamond ring with a smile before placing it on his finger. "Let's go," He said and left the house immediately with Leo. They used a different car this time, but the same number of escorts as always. The drive took the same time, and when they got to the parking lot, he could not believe the number of cars parked outside. It felt as though the enti
"Are you seeing this?" Ellen said whilst staring at the name of the CEO on the office door. "Mr. Oscar Fred Slytherin," Micheal uttered and chuckled, "If only it were Oscar," He added, before knowing on the door. "Come in," a voice replied from the other side and they both walked in, unaware of who or what they were about to meet. "Good day," the man on the desk greeted them as they walked in and both Micheal and Ellen proceeded to shake hands with him, the relief on Ellen's face when she saw that it wasn't Oscar could not be overemphasised. "You must be Mr. Oscar Slytherin, it's such an honour to meet you, sir," Micheal said while he took his seat, but the man on the desk shook his head and said, "Unfortunately I'm not, my name is Leo Angus, the CEO is not here right now, and he had asked me to carry out this interview on his behalf," Leo replied and Micheal sighed in frustration. "Can we wait for him?" He asked, "I'd love to speak with the CEO by myself if you don't mind.
In a fit of rage, Micheal walked out of the elevator on the ground floor. Those who saw him avoided him because he looked just like he was about to start a war. As he got to the receptionist's desk, he dropped his documents on the table so loudly that it startled the receptionist herself. "Is there something I can help you with, sir?" She asked him, remaining as calm and composer as possible. "Yes, I want to see the managing director immediately," He said to her, his tone so harsh that he got people staring at them from all corners of the vicinity. "Micheal please bring your voice down, yelling won't solve our problems right now," Ellen said to him with a sigh, she was more than embarrassed by his current behaviour, even though she clearly understood the reason behind it. "I'm sorry, sir, but Mr. John Catar is very busy right now. He had a lot of appointments just like you. He has representatives for interviews. I suggest you come back tomorrow, I can book an appointment for yo
Oscar was seated in his office, more than ten minutes after Micheal had gone to see John Cater. He wasn't doing so much in the office until a knock was heard on the door and he asked whoever it was to come in.Mr. John Catar, the managing director walked into his office looking displeased, he held the documents from the Caribbean enterprise in his hand while he said,"Pardon me sir, but is there a reason why you refused to see the representatives from this company?" He asked, and Oscar nodded his head and replied, "Yes, I have my reasons, is there a problem?" He inquired, hoping that the MD hadn't come to talk him into changing his mind."Not that there is a problem sir... but uhm, Mr William Hudson, the CEO himself was a very good friend to your father, they've been in contract together for years now, and although they aren't the largest of companies they are one of our investments" John tried to explain, but Oscar wasn't listening. "Like I said, Mr John, I have my reasons, don't
