"What is going on?" Leo walked out of the elevator with a worried expression on his face, he saw Oscar's bodyguard holding down two securities to the ground, while the receptionist stood at a distance with fear written all over her face.
"Call the police immediately, " she yelled at Loe, who turned to her with an expression of shock and asked, "Why?" "This man is no Slytherin," she uttered and Loe almost slapped himself across the face, none of this would have happened if he had just called her rather than sent a text that she never opened. Turning to Oscar who stood speechless behind the other two bodyguards, Leo apologized, "I'm very sorry sir, please Pardon me, I failed to properly communicate the recent information to her for an update on the executive ranking." "Huh?" Oscar raised a brow, his dramatic use of vocabulary wasn't making sense at that moment "Uhmm, how do I do this, sir this is Natasha, she is one of the receptionists, and uhm...Natasha," He called and turned to face the confused young lady, "This is Mr Oscar Fred Slytherin, acting CEO of the Slytherin Empire on his father's behalf." He introduced them, and Natasha's jaws dropped in astonishment. Her face flushed with embarrassment which immediately turned to fear, as she was worried about what would become of her after humiliating the big boss himself and calling him an imposter. She was surely going to get fired and probably beaten up until she was bleeding, but it was an honest mistake and she wasn't to blame entirely. However, she could have handled the situation less violently, but having known the reward for catching an imposter, she acted too quickly. "I'm very sorry, sir. I did not get the message to her on time, please Pardon me," Leo apologized to Oscar once again almost going down on his knee, he knew that if Amy Slytherin learned about this, his life was over, and since Oscar was new, hopefully he'd be merciful enough to let it slide. "I'm very sorry sir," Natasha fell on her knees, while the security men who had been held down by Oscar's bodyguards, stood to their feet to apologise as well. Oscar just stood there with his mouth open, he watched as they begged him like he could take their lives, and had to admit that he liked it. It gave him a sense of pride which he enjoyed a bit, but he understood that it was an accident so he said, "It's okay, I was only terrified by how quickly I was attacked, and Natasha," He faced her, "If you were uncomfortable with it, you should have said something while I was still on the ground floor, sending two security men after me was not the best approach." "I know that now sir, and I am very sorry," she pleaded and tried going closer to Oscar but his bodyguards stopped her from laying a hand on him. "Like I said, it's fine, I just hope I'm not too late for the meeting yet." "No sir, it starts in five minutes, we should get going," Leo took the lead this time. As for the receptionist, she couldn't get over the incident, as she constantly felt like she would get into trouble sooner or later for this. "This is the conference room, sir, you will meet a few representatives from other branches, and the managing director himself, from the information I got, the MD is in a red suit." Leo tried to give him some more tips before proceeding to open the door. Oscar walked into the conference room, a large room with a round table in the middle, surrounded by comfortable black office chairs. The view of the city from the glass wall at the other end was spectacular, and the temperature was kept at a constant 22 degrees at all times. More than half of the seats were occupied by these representatives, and Oscar did not miss the managing director whose red suit stood out among the black and blue suits that filled the room. "Good day sir, " some men stood up to shake hands with him and until now, no one knew he was the new CEO. The managing director looked at Oscar with a quizzical expression hoping that the company was not stupid enough to make a young, inexperienced man the acting CEO. "Good day sir," Oscar's voice disrupted his thought, and he smiled, extended his hand for a shake, and said. "Welcome, you must be one of the representatives?" He inquired indirectly. "I'm afraid not sir," Oscar replied, "I am Oscar Slytherin, and I was told that the representatives would love to meet the acting CEO which is why I came over." The managing director could barely stop his jaws from dropping, he guessed right after all, and for a moment, he felt insulted but hid that behind his fake smile. "Oh, Pardon me, sir, you are most welcome," He said and ushered Oscar to the seat next to him. Then he proceeded to introduce him to everyone. Just like the MD, they were all stunned to learn that Oscar was the acting CEO. This led them to wonder what was wrong with the Slytherin family, because everyone expected to see Aiden, and not some random Slytherin member that they had never seen. "You know what they say, the younger generation is very innovative," one of the men commented with a smile, and acknowledged Oscar's presence by standing up and coming to shake hands with him, and aside from him, a few other men did the same. And while all this was going on, John Catar, the managing director just sat there quietly with a fake smile plastered on his face. He wanted that position more than anything else, and it already hurt him to hear that someone else was given that post. Now seeing Oscar, he was even more annoyed, and full of hate for the young man who had taken what he wanted, John found himself squeezing so hard on the glass in front of him as if he intended to break it.Meanwhile, at the Slytherin mansion, Amy Slytherin was having a heated argument with her brother-in-law over the current update. Aiden had gotten the news that Slytherin Empire now had a new CEO, a position that he ought to have taken in his brother's absence, and he was furious. He drove to the Slytherin mansion that morning to see Amy and hoped that the news he heard was fake, and someone was playing a trick on him. "Of course, I made him the CEO, what else do you want to know?" Amy asked Aiden with a quizzical expression, she was seated on the living room couch with an apathetic expression. Ever since her husband disappeared two months ago, she saw how eager Aiden was to take over the role of acting CEO in his absence. Before now, she always felt like Aiden was jealous of his brother's success and would do anything to take what was his. Even though Aston made him one of the senior associates, she couldn't help but feel that Aiden wanted more. If Aston doesn't trust his broth
"Mom! Mom!" Ellen called as she walked into the house, she met her father sitting on the couch with a laptop on his lap."Is everything okay?" He asked her,"Your mother has just gone to the room, it's past 2 pm and you know that she loves to take a nap by this time for absolutely no reason.""Haha," Ellen laughed,"Anyway, is Oscar around?""No, I haven't seen that one since last night, he didn't bother coming back home, as if he knew that I was going to send him packing." His father replied and Ellen chuckled."Why are you looking for him though?" He asked her."Oh, just wanted to confirm, I got these papers from Karen's assistant earlier today and you wouldn't believe what it is." She said and took it out from the brown envelope, before giving it to her father."What's this?" He asked, taking it from her."A divorce paper," she said and laughed,"I can't believe that idiot tore the divorce papers I gave to him and sent me another one today, well jokes on him, I'm willing to sign it
The meeting ended after nearly four hours, it was an acquisition target business meeting, they spent time speaking on the position of their target in the market, and there was so much deliberation on how and how not to begin. Oscar, who wasn't entirely new to the process, stayed silent for most of the conversation. He only said a few things whenever someone asked for his opinion, and that was it. The meeting ended without a definite conclusion, as it was to continue virtually until they reached a final decision. They had to take care of current investors and a few prospective partners for the time being. As soon as Oscar walked out of the conference room, he sighed heavily. He had a lot to learn if he was going to play a good role as acting CEO, because the sooner they found out that he didn't know so much, the sooner they'd use his head. "How was the meeting, sir?" Leo, who had been in his office until five minutes ago, asked when Oscar stepped out of the elevator on the ground f
On his way back to the Slytherin's mansion, Oscar couldn't overlook the jewel shop he saw along the way. The name of the store caught his attention especially because they make the most beautiful and expensive jewelry in West Arcadia. He recalled how many times Ellen had told him that she wanted to visit this place, to purchase one of the most expensive Neal Diamond rings. For Oscar back then, buying a ring worth over two hundred million dollars was the last thing he'd ever think of. But with his current net worth, Oscar knew that he could buy one hundred of it if he wanted, and would still remain rich. But what was the point? Ellen was no longer with him, except... "Turn the car," He ordered the driver and Leo couldn't help but ask, "Did you forget something?" "No, I mean back to the jewellery shop, I need to get something from there if you don't mind," He replied, and Leo couldn't help but marvel at how respectful Oscar was, despite how much he had acquired overnight. "As so
Walking into the store, Loe could not believe the crowd he saw gathered at the front section of the store where a few watches were on display. "Oh dear God," He uttered and rushed towards the scene, worried that something has happened to his boss, Loe was already freaking out so much. As he got to the scene, Leo noticed that Oscar was still standing and he looked fine, but the problem at hand was the fact that numerous people were accusing him of theft. "I'm sorry what's going on?" He asked one of the customers to confirm what was going on so he'd know how to intervene. "Oh, this man came into the store to buy something with money he stole from his boss... "What the hell?" Leo exclaimed, "And Oscar being such a nice man, wouldn't even try to defend himself properly, sigh, at least this has given him a clear image of what this place is like." Leo thought to himself before taking out his phone. "Excuse me!" He finally made his way through the crowd to the centre of attent
Thursday came faster than expected, and this was the day Oscar had been waiting for. Leo ordered the Neal diamond ring which was brought to Oscar that morning, and he was delighted to have it. It will serve as an element of surprise for Ellen. Before going to the office, Oscar had reviewed the companies, and he knew how much influence he had over who and who would not become partners with the Slytherin Empire. "Are you ready, sir?" Leo asked as he came to check up on him and to confirm whether or not he was ready to go. "Oh, I am very ready to go," Oscar answered with a mischievous smirk. He picked up the ring box and took out the Neal diamond ring with a smile before placing it on his finger. "Let's go," He said and left the house immediately with Leo. They used a different car this time, but the same number of escorts as always. The drive took the same time, and when they got to the parking lot, he could not believe the number of cars parked outside. It felt as though the enti
"Are you seeing this?" Ellen said whilst staring at the name of the CEO on the office door. "Mr. Oscar Fred Slytherin," Micheal uttered and chuckled, "If only it were Oscar," He added, before knowing on the door. "Come in," a voice replied from the other side and they both walked in, unaware of who or what they were about to meet. "Good day," the man on the desk greeted them as they walked in and both Micheal and Ellen proceeded to shake hands with him, the relief on Ellen's face when she saw that it wasn't Oscar could not be overemphasised. "You must be Mr. Oscar Slytherin, it's such an honour to meet you, sir," Micheal said while he took his seat, but the man on the desk shook his head and said, "Unfortunately I'm not, my name is Leo Angus, the CEO is not here right now, and he had asked me to carry out this interview on his behalf," Leo replied and Micheal sighed in frustration. "Can we wait for him?" He asked, "I'd love to speak with the CEO by myself if you don't mind.
In a fit of rage, Micheal walked out of the elevator on the ground floor. Those who saw him avoided him because he looked just like he was about to start a war. As he got to the receptionist's desk, he dropped his documents on the table so loudly that it startled the receptionist herself. "Is there something I can help you with, sir?" She asked him, remaining as calm and composer as possible. "Yes, I want to see the managing director immediately," He said to her, his tone so harsh that he got people staring at them from all corners of the vicinity. "Micheal please bring your voice down, yelling won't solve our problems right now," Ellen said to him with a sigh, she was more than embarrassed by his current behaviour, even though she clearly understood the reason behind it. "I'm sorry, sir, but Mr. John Catar is very busy right now. He had a lot of appointments just like you. He has representatives for interviews. I suggest you come back tomorrow, I can book an appointment for yo
