9. Oscar Frederick Slytherin

With his heart racing, Oscar walked into the biggest bedroom he had ever seen, so spacious yet so beautiful. And by the edge of the bed in front of him, a woman was seated, it was none other than Amy Slytherin.

She looked quite young for her age, so beautiful and elegant that no one would assume she'd have a twenty-six-year-old son, her dark hair rested on her shoulder, while her eyes were already covered in tears.

"Frederick," she mumbled and stood to her feet. She looked away from the paper and let the tears drop from her eyes. She closed the distance between them, and looked into Oscar's eyes.

"I thought I lost you for good," she cried, her body shaking slightly as she was overwhelmed by the unexpected news.

"A mother needs no tests to tell who her son is," she added and drew Oscar in for a hug.

She sobbed in his arms, the true reaction of a mother who had just reunited with her son. These tears of joy could not be contained, and she could only hold back from screaming on top of her voice.

Oscar on the other hand played along and hugged back, he couldn't believe how quickly the lady accepted that he was her son.

"Could it be the parental bond?" He wondered.

Oscar admitted to having felt a sense of comfort when she hugged him. A sense of attachment unlike he ever felt before, maybe she was truly his mother, maybe all of this was real and had returned home.

"Look at you," Amy uttered, her voice breaking from holding back her tears. She looked at Oscar from head to toe and continued,

"You are a man now," she added, touching his face, down to his beard before drawing him in for another embrace, sniffling and sobbing.

"You were just a year old, when your father went out of the house with you and came back to say that he lost you, Fred." She cried, soaking a part of Oscar's shirt in tears,

"I lost my sanity, Fred, it felt like the end of the world. I hated your father so much, and I haven't forgiven him ever since."

"I am your mother," she said looking him in the eyes,

"I know you don't remember anything, but don't worry, you are back home, to where you belong. Oh... and uhm... I assume you have another name?"

"Oscar," He replied with a smile, he couldn't help but feel like this woman truly gave birth to him, the attraction towards her despite meeting for the first time was too much to ignore.

"Oscar," she uttered,

"Come here, sit down," she ushered him to sit at the edge of the bed next to her,

"Who brought you up?" She asked.

"Mrs Amy, I honestly...

"Mom," she cut him off,

"I am your mother, Fred, call me mom."

With a sigh, Oscar replied,

"The truth is, I don't remember so much about my early childhood. But I knew I was at the orphanage at some point, before working slowly to where I am now. I'm sorry, but... maybe I'm not truly your son." He said.

Watching her cry, Oscar couldn't help but feel guilty, yes he was attached, but he did not see the point of making a woman happy over what may not be the truth.

"I am here because a cop saw that I looked like the AI image, but there are no further tests, what if I'm not your... " Amy covered his mouth with her hand before he could finish.

"Don't you dare, say another word," she scolded him with a frown.

"I know my child when I see him, and I don't care what you think, Fred.... Oscar, you are back home and back to stay."

"Ma'am, honestly...

"I said don't say another word," she interjected,

"I don't want to hear it. The maids will show you to your room, you'll sleep well tonight, and we can have this conversation in the morning. Oscar, even if you are not my son by blood, I'm adopting you tonight."

Oscar could not believe his ears, this woman was serious about making him stay with her. He was both excited and worried because this would change his life forever.

"You must be tired, come, I'll show you to your room by myself," she continued and escorted Oscar out of the room. She led him to the bedroom at the far end and asked him to go and freshen up while she went downstairs to make a few arrangements on what he would wear.

Without giving him a moment to speak, Amy pushed Oscar into the room and closed the door behind her. Once he was out of sight, she leaned her back in the door and let the tears fall from her eyes.

"I know that you a Fred, Oscar, and I will not let you out of my sight again." She mumbled before going downstairs.

"Leo!" She called, and a young man appeared before her immediately.

"Are these the men who brought him?" She asked, pointing at the chief, and Leo nodded in agreement.

"Yes, ma," He said.

"Okay," she uttered and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. She walked up to the chief and thanked him wholeheartedly while holding back more tears that threatened to escape her eyes.

"Leo, give these men, double the amount that I promised, once you have done that, I'd like you to make arrangements with the lawyer for tomorrow. Oscar will be the acting CEO of the company in his father's absence, I want all documents finalised before the end of tomorrow because we will have a brief meeting on Thursday with representatives from the Hudson enterprise. I will teach him all he needs to know."

"Okay ma," Leo replied.

"And please, let everyone know that we have a new CEO, and most importantly, take some clothes for him to wear." She concluded and Leo replied

"I will do that, ma, what name shall I give tell them?" He asked.

"Oscar Frederick Slytherin."
