Chapter Twenty Nine

James was reserved and distant from everything ever since he woke up from his troubled sleep that morning.

When his morning coffee was brought to him in his work room, he turned it down. He had locked himself up inside his workroom for fear that his wife might come to him and begin her rant on how he was the reason that their daughter had been kidnapped.

They had tried their best to contact their daughter’s number that had called them the night before but it was no longer going through.

This frustrated him the more and he paced the room several times , trying to figure out what he could do about the situation without putting his daughter in more danger.

Soon, his phone rang. It was a call from his daughter’s number.

The familiar male voice that had spoken to the night before said,

“Hello?”

“Yes!” James replied. His wife stood up from where she was to meet him. There was a faint look of hope in her eyes.

“You are to pay the sum of 3 million dollars before we release your daughter.
