CHAPTER SEVEN: The Strange Man

" Let us observe a minute silence for our amiable Police Commissioner who departed from this life leaving us alone," the assistant commissioner of police said which they all complied with.

This general meeting with all the police officers was days after the death of the commissioner of police.

His death came as a shock to the entire police Force not in their imagination did they ever thought that he's the next victim of the killer antics.

Funny enough,his office was also in Deng but who would have thought that the killer will take it to far as to murder the police commissioner for the whole Raws.

That death was the last straw that broke the camel's back as it made the case more popular and even full of mystery.

The government of Raws have mandated the police to find a solution to the killing especially with the fact that the next victim is unknown which could be anybody.

The entire police Force were grief-stricken and in mourning period especially those who were close to the police commissioner were deeply hurt by his death.

" This meeting is not only to mourn the police commissioner who left us unannounced, but also to encourage us not to give up as courage is born of desperation," the assistant police commissioner said.

He knows that a lot of feeble minds amidst the policy force might start to waver simply because the police commissioner died but it will be better to instill that police spirit back in them,who knows that might actually be the killer's intent for killing the police commissioner.

" The team who have been working on this case should continue with it, don't believe that you can't solve the case. If you need anything,let us know so that we will provide it as soon as possible," the assistant commissioner of police added.

They all left to return to their various stations after the assistant commissioner of police speech with the resolution to do everything possible to solve the case.

James was silent throughout the ride back to the station and others respected his wish and left him alone. He does that whenever he's angry with himself or is trying to blame himself.

When they got to the police station,he got down from the car and quietly walked to his office while others also returned back to their post.

On getting to the office,James sat down thinking. He wondered where everything went wrong. He has a lot of questions he want to ask but to who exactly?

He believed that they tried their best and even positioned police on duty for three days just to apprehend them. He wondered how they found out that they were in Deng for them to deliberately dump those dead bodies in their midst even if it meant putting their lives in danger.

These killers commit their crimes with the mindset that nobody can catch them. This is frustrating and already a headache to his precious soul.

Who on earth is behind this crime and trying to provoke the police. He feels that the person feels a resentment towards the police but there's no way to even find out what the resentment is all about.

All the crimes from the beginning were to taunt the police and that is making him crazy for what exactly. He wish he knows the answer to this questions and just clear the case.

What if they are interpreting the case from the wrong side.

What if the killing denotes a message that they've not tried to sit don't and solve. This is the most complicated case he has ever seen and wonders if he won't be killed before he attempt to solve the case.

No matter what,he would make sure he solves the case and punish the person who killed the police commissioner for what he did.

There's no way someone can just enter a police Commissioner's office just like that without going through the main office. That means somebody saw the killer if he's correct because since they recorded the police commissioner's death only,it means somebody gave the killer the permission to enter the police Commissioner's office.

For the first time since the police commissioner's death,he smiled briefly at this point and left his office to Ken's post to inquire about something.

" Ken, I need you to find out the list of those who visited the police commissioner in his office and the list of people other than the police who visited the office altogether now!!" He ordered while Ken merely nodded in affirmation without knowing the reason.

Ken put a call to the former police commissioner's office and demanded for the list just as James requested.

They sent it and he showed it to James immediately. They started looking at the names one after the other and trying to verify the identification of the person before moving to the next one.

They were still on that,when a call entered and Ken picked it. The person introduced himself as working for the late commissioner of police and that he actually has something to say regarding the former commissioner of police.

" He narrated what happened the day the police commissioner was murdered and identified that someone visited the police commissioner though his name was not recorded as ordered by the police commissioner.

The man narrated that he was the last person to visit the police commissioner until his death. Though he left before the death of the former police commissioner, but the man appeared suspicious even the dressing.

After the call,James inquired about the person since he observed that Ken spent some time on the phone which shows that it was a highly important call.

" What did the police officer say?" James questioned.

" He said somebody visited the police commissioner before his death and the police commissioner said they should not record his name."
