CHAPTER TEN: History Of Past Serial Killers

" There's still no news about the strange man?" James asked as they all sat down for the meeting.

" No news about the strange man Sir. We have displayed his portrait all over Raws, so it will be difficult for him to absquatulate," Angelina remarked.

" This case is full of mystery, and everybody involve are all mysterious even the victims. Every lead we get to solve the case always get us hooked in the end," Leon said sadly.

They have been on the case over a month now, and they still could not say that they are sure they've solved the case to a certain level. With each death of the victims, instead of finding a clue, it's getting more inscrutable.

" Before the death of the late police commissioner,we decided to drill out some information relating to histories of serial murders similar to this serial murder case we're battling currently," James said while they all nodded in affirmation.

" Who was able to get information on such serial murder case similar to this one?" He asked.

" I did some research and found out some amazing things I would like to share with everybody,"Mark said.

" One of the serial murder cases that was recorded and rated by the police at that time was called " the soul killer."

"He was named the soul killer, for his nature of killing. He does not kill in haste and leave. He makes sure he put the soul in distress before killing the person."

"His signature was the trouser of the person," Mark said while others were agape with wonder.

" How will someone make use of trouser as signature and he was regarded as a serial killer?" Ken asked in shock.

" How was he apprehended?" James asked.

" The police at the time paid attention to the victims and they were able to get him. They observed that the victims were all from the same town which means the killer was also from their town.He was killing his age mates due to inferiority complex and that was how they were able to nab him," Mark narrated.

" That's quite commending from the police. Who also have something to add?" James asked.

" I also worked on one. He was labeled the women killer for the peculiarity of his murders. They were all women. He had history of rejection from women because of his teeth, and when it got to a certain level that he could not endure it,he started killing those women," Angelina started.

" His signature was removing their teeth since they made fun of his teeth. Women started clamouring for his arrest since it was their gender he was dealing with. The police also observed the victims and after a thorough history of the women that rejected him, they were able to apprehend him by setting a trap for him. It remained a woman who rejected him and the police used that woman to trap him and he was apprehended," she concluded.

" Those of us who took their time to find out about some of these serial killers, we're really grateful for that. I still want us to find out more especially if any that is similar to this one we're battling with. There might actually be a key to the case in the previous cases," James said.

" I learnt something new from the two cases they narrated which helped the police in solving the case. This key we didn't really pay attention to and might actually be the source of the murders," James said while others listened carefully.

" The common history of the victims. Who knows the dead victims might be related or binded by something we have not yet found out. So,we all have a new task we must include to the earlier task. Let us gather information about the victims, then we try and examine whether there is a common link or it's just a regular killing of anybody," James ordered.

" Okay Sir,we will try and do that before our next meeting," Ken said.

After the meeting, James went to the police chief's office. Ever since the death of the police commissioner,he disappeared definitely because of the shock. Everybody was aware of the closeness between him and the late police commissioner. If those who were not close to the police commissioner, could cry and hurt themselves, what of the police chief who was the closest to him?

He resumed today and James pray he has fully recovered from the shock. The police chief was someone he respected so much.

On getting to the office,he was told to enter after knocking and he did as told. He met the police chief writing on a paper and flashed a smile at him, before dropping it to come and sit on the chair close to where James sat.

" How are you sir?" James asked worriedly.

" I'm quite fine as you can see. I actually needed to rest, that was why I didn't resume all this while," he said, although James knows that is far from the truth.

" So, tell me how far have you gone with the operation?" The police chief asked.

" We're still not there yet. It has not been easy but I can only promise to get my hands on some information soon," James said, and his mind drifted to what transpired between him and Helena that day.

" I understand, but please be fast about it. We don't know who the next person is," the police chief said with fear and James sensed something.

" Sir, do you know anything else about this case that we are not aware of?" James asked.

" What else do I know apart from the ones you're feeding me with?" he said in defense but it seems his eyes were betraying him.

" You can't even look me in the face and say it. Why not spill it out to help us solve it as soon as possible. Just like you said,we were don't know the next person,James said in a persuasive tone.

" Fine, the late police commissioner revealed that he got two letters that day from the killer and not one just as we all believed," the police commissioner revealed.

" What was in the letter?"
