The humongous

The more Ainz listened, the more his mood dampened and his expression grew dark.

Lilith kept talking, while sometimes she would heave a sad sigh, but in fact, Ainz's mind was away. He had long considered the plan of running away, though he appreciated the affection of this woman and felt guilt towards taking over her real child soul, still, he wouldn't put his life in harm's way because of some few words she said to him.

While he felt guilty it wasn't stupidity, ever since he got betrayed by those he trusted and called allies, he had created a clear boundary about people and had become even more cautious.

He guessed it was because of how much he had trusted and felt he could never get betrayed, which was why such had happened to him, otherwise with his strength he would definitely had survived.

From the clothing of this world, and even from the way they ran their errands, the constructions of their buildings, and the taste of furniture, he could guess that this was nothing like Niflheim style.

The thought of living as a baby made him almost cry, he could already imagine how difficult this type of living was going to be for him.

'Yet, this is another disadvantage for me again, even if I successfully run away with this woman. She might find my habits strange, and even my style of thought might make her feel wary of me. I can't just move like a headless chicken.'

While he thought about his future, he also made sure to pay attention to Lilith, his mother. Soon the bright sky slowly lifted its veil over to the moon as the day passed, and soon the night slowly approached.

Lilith walked to a balcony to watch the shiny little stars together with her son, which could already be seen in the sky, and as they walked Lilith used this chance to softly sing a melody to her child.

"...White grows the lily,

...Red grows the rose.

..Here lies my laddie,

.. See how he grows.

..My son is a hero,

..But superman he'll soon be.

..With a red rose upon him,

..Oh, how the wind blows…

While Ainz listened, he couldn't help but marvel at her sweet and tender voice, and the way she sang the song, it was the first time he had such a serene moment in his life, in a long time.

He stared outside, from within his mother's embrace as he studied the environment outside. Outside the wall perimeter, there were horses, and local white-black mixed cows grazing the grasses in the field ranch.

Just outside the field, there was a large stone gateway from the outer circle main gate, together with a stone pavement tiling the floor.

A field of what seemed to be a dense forest, was outside the stone gateway which was barely visible in sight from the Moon's hue.

It was but beautiful scenery which was refreshing, and serene to watch. Ainz wasn't used to nor accustomed to such life , and now the more he looked the more gloomy he felt, this new world was making his escape plan futile.

[Powerful energy undulations detected and currently approaching host location at high speed!]

[Danger level: extremely high. Suggestion: Host leaves the vicinity immediately!]

When Ainz saw this message, he had no idea what to do. He couldn't even talk, talk less of running on his own feet, so how the fuck was the system expecting him to leave the vicinity?

He then shifted his eyes towards the sky, and there he seemed to see an extra layer of darkness enveloping the silver moon.

In the beginning, it was like a little dark cloud in the distance, but soon it suddenly grew bigger and bigger as it headed towards their direction.

Only then he realized something was amiss, with the dark clouds in the sky.

The darkness or the danger alert wasn't caused by the nightfall, but by the humongous silhouette of something covering the sky.

Its movement was extremely fast, and was getting closer and closer, rather quickly.

At some point, a loud tremor formed a bass roar that ran through every building and castle it passed by, making them tremble.

The loud quivering roar seemed to be coming from the humongous figure in the sky.

An humongous black-winged figure flew towards the tall, slender black marble tower in the inner circle. Its speed led a sharp trail of winding screech.

Its humongous figure was almost twenty meters in both height and width, and it had black scales covering its entire body, with antlers on both sides of its forehead.

It dove at such mind-blowing speed that neither Lilith nor the stupefied Ainz knew when it had flown by, then suddenly the black marble tower was filled with a bright purple halo, it formed a ray of purple as it shut towards the humongous black scaly figure.

There was an eerie silence, before a loud hum followed by the cold temperature rising and then a body-scorching heat wave, with the beast's mouth wide open an eerie green fiery flame halted the bright purple halo mid-air in its wake.

Yet, its speed was too high, and it kept on pushing the beast backwards, until the purple ray was eventually unable to keep up with the eerie green flame before being engulfed by it.

"You despicable mortals. How dare you steal from the mighty Galadima"

The beast's voice was filled with anger, as it snarled towards the black marble tower. Which kept on emitting a steady purple halo, as though it was recharging itself.

The moment the beast was preparing to give the thief who had stolen from it, the taste of their own medicine and as well teach them an unforgettable lesson.

A bright red flaming lance streaked toward the beast, from inside the inner circle of the castle before stabbing toward the beast's venomous eye.

There was a loud roar, one of pain, sounding at the dusk of the night, the beast seemed to have been injured, its humongous body quivered, seemingly struck by lightning.

Lilith halted her movement, seeing the red lance fly out from the inner castle, "Andrew..." She softly muttered under her breath.

Meanwhile, Ainz was yet to understand what was happening, his thoughts were all over the place, to piece them together or even pay attention to the continuous danger alert from the system.
