father

Stopping at the front of the door exit, Andrew stared at her with cold glints in his eyes, before saying;

"Lilith, don't forget you brought it upon yourself, it was you who wanted to get pregnant, it was you who wanted a child, and not me?"

"And even if you are my wife, and the child belongs to me, do you think with this bit and piece of blood he has in his veins, will be able to survive in the main family?

"Don't make me look wicked, this child is bound to be a lifetime trash, neither did he take from your former glory nor my talent."

"He's just as useless as you are now. Rather than complaining I said those things, you should be happy I let a child without any bloodline stay in the Kalamas household. If you really want to keep this child, then forget about ever teaching him magic and instead let him become a professor, that would be much better"

After he said that, he walked out of the room, with nothing but the remnant of his voice echoing in the room, leaving Lilith with eyes brimming with tears as she softly held Ainz within her embrace.

At the same time, Ainz couldn't help but look at the man who had just left with surprise. He couldn't understand why someone who should be happy his wife had just given birth was angry, and furious that the child had no bloodline.

He would have thought the man didn't mean any of it, if he hadn't seen the cold and indifference in his eyes when he looked at him, at the same time it dawned on him that those words felt extremely familiar to him, it was a feeling like he got from a person he once knew and could barely forget, who had was behind the entire plan of his betrayal, and the course of his miserable death in his previous life….Monarch of the spirit Barragan.

Pushing back his emotionalism, even though he was biased towards Barragan personality, he couldn't be mistaken that the man had no iota of love for neither him nor for this woman called Lilith.

Lilith didn't see the heated stare, the baby had toward the man who had just left.

'This is even worse but not as bad as I thought. Nevertheless, I now have two choices. Firstly, grow into this large family, suffer every day for few leftover resources with this woman, trying to prove myself to the family that I wasn't trash.'

'Secondly, wait for this system and find out what useful things it has to offer me, while I am big enough grab a chance and escape and if possible, take this woman along. I think I could go with option two, after all, it is the most feasible for me at the moment, except I could recover my powers.'

As he thought of that he stared at the invisible black panel, floating mid-air in front of him, and then he closed his eyes with a sigh and slowly went to sleep.

.....

Four days had passed since Ainz was Transmigrated into this new world.

Within the past few days, no matter how much he thought about it. His senses all told him that it was a real world, that he was definitely in a real place. Even still his heart could barely accept this perpetual truth.

It was warm weather outside, with the sun's rays slowly filling the environment with a trace of calm and liveliness.

The mansion they had walked out from resembled an ancient middle ages building made like that of a mansion, yet it had the size of a big castle and was mostly made from gray bricks and rocks but they seemed to be far more study than normal, with tall walls surrounding the castle perimeter.

At the moment, he was in the arms of Lilith, who was his mother, while she walked through the mansion she would most times talk a few things to him.

Little did she know, the little fella wasn't even paying attention to what she was saying, even though they resembled words to him, he need not pay attention to it as he stared at the black panel. Floating mid-air, in front of him.

It was a strange thing seeing a black screen, following him around, but his curiosity over it made him careless about the puppy screen. His life was usually about fighting, and dying, while it was always eventful since he always got to kill a new bastard every time, but that was it, he had no friends to talk to, not even in the underworld, so everything was new to him.

Ainz was a lonely child although he was a monarch and had many armies and versas under him, all he cared about in his previous world was fighting all his life, his free time was spent exploring dangerous labyrinths.

While he looked at it, he noticed the minor changes in his status screen, most especially in his age, and exp points. They seemed to be recording his daily life activities, with a continuous reset mostly with his age, all this made him feel apprehensive about what surprise the system might give him next with the Transmigration starter pack.

He spent a few moments staring at the black screen, before redirecting his gaze to where Lilith was walking to. While walking around the Kalamas castle, Lilith would continuously whisper a few words to him.

Though he didn't pay much attention to what she was saying, she gave him a basic idea of their position in the family and how the mansion was structured.

The mansion was divided into the outer circle and the inner circle.

The inner circle was composed of four large castle buildings, surrounding a tall and slender black marble tower with a spire at its tip in the middle of the castles, which was where the main family lived.

The outer circle had only two castles and a few-story building, and it was where Lilith, himself, the guards, servants, and guests respectively lived.

At the moment, they were on the first floor of their castle, which was mainly reserved for them since she was the wife of one of the blood of the main family, Andrew.

And since, Ainz was Andrew's son.

Ainz's father, Andrew, was a seventh child but very talented, from the old patriarch Kalamas, seventh wife.

As such, even though they weren't given access to the inner circle, they could still live in comfort in the outer circle.

"Little Ainz, you must grow strong when you're big. Did you know there was once a time when your mother was very strong? If not that something had happened to your mother's strength, Andrew wouldn't have had the guts to insult or look down on us."

"The people in the inner circle probably don't think much of us, especially the other grandsons and daughters of the old patriarch."
