For The Five Million

In front of the Starlando Hotel, a handsome young man in a suit had been waiting for some time, respectfully welcoming the mother and daughter.

The Rabbit explained, "This guy is Marvin Carey, a notorious playboy in Marinopolis. He preys on men and bullies women, a typical scumbag."

Marvin Carey disguised himself as a gentleman. "Ellie Auntie, is this your daughter?"

Amanda's delicate face and well-proportioned figure were enough to attract any man, especially a scoundrel like Marvin Carey.

Ellie warmly shook hands with Marvin Carey. "Mr. Marvin Carey, Auntie didn't deceive you, my daughter..."

Marvin Carey interrupted, "Actually, I've met Amanda a few times recently. I wonder if she remembers me."

Amanda looked at Marvin Carey, finding him somewhat familiar.

Seeing Ellie and Amanda, Marvin Carey extended his hand. "Ellie Auntie, Amanda, let's not stand here foolishly. Let's go upstairs and talk."

Following behind Marvin Carey, Ellie and Amanda entered a private room on the top floor of the Starlando Hotel.

Marvin Carey had already ordered the food and even got a few bottles of wine.

As soon as Ellie sat down, she went straight to the point and said tentatively, "Mr. Marvin Carey, it's like this... Amanda helped negotiate a business deal for the Nixon Group. The deal was about to be closed, but..."

"At first, the Nixon Group wanted to get rid of our Amanda. However, they later realized that without her, the deal couldn't be closed. So, they requested Amanda to bear the losses for the Nixon Group. Otherwise, they would sue her and take her to court!"

"The compensation amount is too much for us. We, mother and daughter, really have no way out. So, we can only come to you for help!"

After hearing Ellie's words, Marvin Carey, pretending to be angry, slammed the table. "The Nixon Group is really too much! You're family, how can they treat you like this? Don't worry, Auntie, with me around, the compensation is not a problem!"

"How much money do you need? I'll transfer it to you right now."

Marvin Carey acted generously, making Ellie more excited. "Really? Auntie is so grateful to you!"

Marvin Carey waved his hand, took out a card, and pressed it on the table. "Auntie, just tell me the amount. I'll transfer it to you right away."

Ellie touched her chest, appearing calm. "It's not much, just five million."

"Sure, I'll... cough, cough, cough..."

Marvin Carey was about to promise when he choked upon hearing the amount. Five million? He coughed uncontrollably.

Ellie felt embarrassed and said cautiously, "I need five million. Consider it a loan. We'll repay it slowly in the future."

Marvin Carey smirked internally. Five million? Even if Amanda was made of gold, she wouldn't be worth that much! But he had already boasted, so Marvin Carey pretended to be calm.

"Five million is nothing. For me, it's a small problem."

Marvin Carey waved his hand, showing off. "Auntie, Amanda, rest assured. I'll transfer the money to you tomorrow morning. But for now, can I talk to Amanda alone?"

As Ellie heard his agreement, she got up with a smile. "You guys talk. You're both young people; Auntie won't disturb you."

"Mom!"

Amanda was not pleased. "Behave. If you stay out too late, don't bother coming home tonight."

"Mom~"

Amanda was very reluctant, but her mother Ellie, with various winks and gestures, completely ignored Amanda's feelings.

Meanwhile, Marvin Carey took advantage of the distraction and put something in Amanda's drink.

When Amanda, feeling a bit dizzy, reluctantly returned, Marvin Carey raised his glass. "After drinking this glass, I need to go back and raise the money. Five million will take some time."

Amanda didn't expect Marvin Carey just wanted to have a drink with her. Not thinking much, she raised her glass. "Thank you in advance, then."

"Cheers."

As she drank the wine, Amanda suddenly felt a bit drowsy. The surroundings became unclear, and Marvin Carey's figure seemed distorted.

"Uh-oh."

As Amanda's body weakened, she fainted.

Marvin Carey grinned, stood up, and patted Amanda's shoulder. "No problem, wake up."

Confirming that Amanda was completely unconscious, Marvin Carey finally dropped the pretense and spat on the floor. "What the hell is this? They really took me for a fool. Five million for you? Do I need to spend money on someone I can eat for free?"

Just as Marvin Carey was about to take action, the door of the private room was kicked open.
