Setting Out For Justice

"Bang, bang, bang."

The frantic knocking on the door frightened Ellie to the core. She cautiously opened the door to find Alfred Nixon and his son at the entrance.

Ellie was flustered.

Coming to collect debts so early in the morning was overly impatient.

"Move aside, Amanda! Amanda, get out!"

Alfred Nixon, unable to contain his anger, pushed Ellie aside and stormed into the room, yelling.

This terrified Ellie even more, and she nervously asked, "Amanda isn't home. What do you want with her?"

"Where's Amanda?"

Alfred Nixon countered.

Ellie, now a bit more confident, retorted, "Isn't she out borrowing money? You demand we compensate 50 million, and you won't even let us figure it out. Are you trying to force my daughter and me to our deaths?"

Alfred Nixon, furious, declared, "Let me tell you, it's no longer just about 50 million. Amanda, let her come over here immediately!"

Ellie, realizing the situation, hurriedly called Amanda.

Meanwhile, Amanda and Ken had just left the hotel for breakfast. Amanda's phone had run out of battery the previous night, so no matter how much they tried, they couldn't contact her.

Alfred Nixon and his son were getting anxious. They couldn't afford to let Old Nixon know about the current state of the company. Amanda's presence was crucial, and they could only wait anxiously.

Waiting for several hours without Amanda showing up, Alfred Nixon, smoking one cigarette after another, periodically asked, "Have you reached her? Where is she? Find her quickly!"

"The number you dialed is currently switched off..."

"Dad, still off."

If they could get through, they wouldn't need to come to Amanda's hideout.

Alfred Nixon's blood pressure soared, and he shouted, "Can't contact Amanda? Then don't bother calling that useless number."

Samuel Nixon, recalling something, turned to Ellie and asked, "Aunt Ellie, do you know Ken's phone number?"

"Well..."

Ellie looked hesitant. She hadn't saved it before, but she searched through her phone and finally found Ken's number.

She dialed the number, and it was quickly answered.

"Hello, who's this?"

Ellie anxiously asked, "Is Amanda with you?"

"Amanda is with me."

Ellie felt an overwhelming relief.

"That's good. Quickly let Amanda answer the phone."

But Ken, nonchalant, said, "But Amanda just went to the restroom. I can't go into the ladies' room to give her the phone, can I?"

"This..."

Ellie looked troubled.

Samuel Nixon, seizing the atmosphere, snatched the phone and questioned, "Do you know who you're talking to?"

"You're speaking to Ken?"

"You piece of garbage, I've given you face!"

"Beep..."

Ken unexpectedly hung up on Samuel Nixon.

"Motherfucker!"

Samuel Nixon exploded in anger.

Alfred Nixon quickly stepped forward, snatched the phone, and dialed Ken's number again, frustratedly saying, "Ken, I warn you, let Amanda answer the phone quickly!"

But the response was,

"Beep..."

Alfred Nixon was almost about to explode.

However, the urgent situation required him to swallow his pride. He dialed again.

"Ken, what do you want to make you let Amanda answer the phone?"

Ken calmly replied, "Didn't you dismiss Amanda from the Nixon family and compensate us 50 million? Why are you looking for Amanda now?"

Alfred Nixon was taken aback.

He had suspected before that Amanda was up to something.

But when Ken admitted it, he could be certain that Amanda was indeed up to something.

"Ken, you're really something. You actually schemed behind our backs. Just wait..."

"Beep..."

Ken hung up on Samuel Nixon again.

Alfred Nixon was on the verge of exploding. He dialed again, his hands trembling.

"Do you have a sickness? Can't you get enough?"

Ken, impatient, questioned.

Alfred Nixon took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and asked, "What conditions do you have? What will it take for you to let Amanda answer the phone?"

Ken casually said, "Amanda was expelled from the Nixon family, and we've paid the 50 million compensation. Why are you looking for Amanda? There's no need."

"Fine, I get it."

Alfred Nixon's chest undulated, and he took another deep breath, adjusting his mentality.

"I admit that dismissing Amanda was a mistake. I've decided to cancel the dismissal and let her return to the Nixon family."

"Now quickly take Amanda to work!"

"No need. Amanda is currently looking for a job. If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."

"Wait..."

Alfred Nixon was close to exploding, but given the urgent situation, he could only endure.

Alfred Nixon repeatedly hanging up, it truly felt like he was giving in.

However, in the current urgent situation, Alfred Nixon could only swallow his pride.

Dialing again, he softened his tone and pleaded, "Can't I admit my mistake? I shouldn't have dismissed Amanda; it's all my fault. Please, quickly let Amanda answer the phone."

"Is admitting a mistake just something you say? What else do you want?"

"What else can you do?"

"Kneel down and apologize publicly."

Ken's voice was devoid of any emotion.

"Make me kneel down and apologize? Who the hell do you think you are!"

"Beep..."

The call was cut off again, and Alfred Nixon felt his veins pulsating with frustration.
