Isaac started speaking more aggressively as he got impatient.

James instructed Leo to take action.

I'm trying to concentrate."You're not helping," Leo yelled.

Isaac looked at the men and noticed how scared they looked. His curious and authoritative demeanor began to change into one of rage.Leo seemed to get it, and he got a little excited.

It's okay; I believe he is expressing gratitude to us for saving him.Additionally, I believe he requested clothing.

Just at that moment, Isaac grabbed Leo by the neck and spoke to him once more, this time in an accusatory tone and with bloodlust in his eyes.Leo's face became more frightened as the men realized what Isaac had just said; They would not be permitted to leave the cave alive, and he had realized that they had not come with the intention of resurrecting him.

Leo tried to speak, but Isaac's grip, which was so strong, was blocking his airway. As his body screamed for oxygen, he started to panic.Again in a state of panic, Steve fled, with James close behind him.Isaac pressed harder on his victim, crushing his throat, and then let go, dropping the dead body to the ground.

James was struck hard on the side of his chest as the other two men ran toward the other side of the clearing, sending him flying into the lake.As the acid rapidly disintegrated his body, he screamed in agony.

Steve raced through the forest with all of his might in an effort to locate the exit, and when he saw it ahead of him, he had a fleeting glimmer of hope;He dashed in its direction with frantic determination.A vise-like grip on the back of his neck abruptly halted his movement as he got closer to the tunnel. As he was lifted off the ground and turned to face Isaac, his feet swayed. After briefly studying James once more with frightened eyes, Isaac single-handedly snapped his neck.

Isaac returned to the lake after lowering James's body to the ground. He put on Leo's pants after removing them from his body.He asked in English, "What did he say?" while looking down at his victim. He repeated, "What did he say?" as he looked around at where the other two men had been."It's different—the way he speaks," she continued. In an effort to comprehend what the men were saying, he repeated the conversation word for word over and over again.

He walked over to the wall and noticed how much time had passed while he was replaying their conversation. The base's markings below the mist line were no longer legible, though the majority had not suffered much erosion. He noticed the new position of the sculpture Steve had hit as he looked over at it;He saw footprints digging into the sculpture on the floor next to it.This demonstrated that these men had not intended to resurrect him and that it had been nothing more than a fortunate accident—for him anyway. Not so much for the fools who dared not to be invited into his secret places.

He retraced his steps and looked at the three sets of footprints to see where the intruders had been and what they were doing there; He smirked when he saw the remains of Jeff as he followed the footprints.Another idiot, too stupid to keep his hands to himself, was here;He was no longer a threat to Isaac's secret now that he had received his just reward. After he was satisfied that there were no more sets of footprints, he went on to the entrance of the cave and used the ropes that the men had left there to climb up through the cave shaft and out the opening.

Tonight, the moon shone brightly, illuminating the valley below in a soft way. With one notable exception, most of it appeared unchanged since the last time he had seen it.A town that hadn't been there before was indicated by a scattering of glowing lights to the southeast.

A white light that was moving at a breakneck pace across the ground caught Isaac's eye and pointed to the mountain's base;As it moved, he could hear a low-pitched rumble coming from it.A second white light appeared out of nowhere and began to pursue the first one.It changed from being white to flashing red and blue as it was getting close to catching up.After a few seconds, both lights stopped moving.

Isaac quickly descended the mountain and hid behind a boulder to get a better look, his curiosity piqued. The lights were emanating from two substantial objects that were positioned on an oddly smooth black road.He had trouble understanding what he was seeing. They resembled large insects with metallic antennae and two circular legs—one in front and one behind—and shared a similar structure. The white body of the one with red and blue flashing lights was contrasted by the shiny black body of the other.

A second man in a round helmet stood next to the white one in the back, and a large, imposing man with a bald head and a long, thick beard sat astride the black one in front.Isaac began to wonder how many people were like him when he noticed that these men also had pale skin.

The helmeted man tore off a strip after scratching something into the flat white object in his hand;He approached the black insect and gave it to the muscular man, who reluctantly took it and put it in his pocket.Isaac carefully observed as the hefty man turned a small, shiny object sticking out of the black insect's top.The insect started making the same rumbling sound Isaac had heard earlier as he did so.The rider simultaneously pressed on two levers with his left foot while simultaneously squeezing a lever on the left antenna. He turned the right antenna with his right hand, and the insect's circular legs started rolling. This caused the man to accelerate to an incredible speed and carried him out of sight.

Isaac stepped onto the street. It was much flatter and more even than any road he had previously seen, but it was as hard as rock beneath his feet.As he got closer, the helmeted man turned to see him.

"May I assist you, sir?"The man inquired, evidently surprised by Isaac's appearance.

"May I assist you, sir?"Isaac walked up to the man's face and studied him closely as he recited.

After Isaac invaded his personal space, the man backed up a few steps and yelled, "Please, sir, back up."

Isaac quietly repeated, "Please, sir, back up."

“Sir, I am an officer of the law, and I am ordering you to back off now!” said the man, who was becoming enraged, and held up one hand in a stern manner.

"Sir, I'm a law enforcement officer, and I'm telling you to back off now!"Isaac followed suit.

A small, black object that was attached to the officer's hip was held in one hand.Isaac turned to look at the black object. He reached out to touch it when he couldn't tell by looking what it was.In an effort to restrain him, the officer grabbed hold of his arm.

"That's it; you've been arrested. You have the right to rem—" Isaac twisted the officer's hand around, releasing him from his grip on Isaac's arm and forcing him to his knees in agony. The officer clearly did not understand Isaac's menacing speech.Isaac gave the officer one last push before making his way over to the white insect. He got on it, looked at it, and compared it to the one the big man had been riding.

After slowly rising to his feet, the officer yelled, "Get off the motorcycle!"

As the irate man took the small, black object from his hip and pointed it at Isaac with both hands, Isaac watched.

He stated, "I'm warning you."

Isaac ignored him unconcerned and, imitating the man's movements, started the motorcycle and drove off down the road.He heard a loud crack as he left the officer behind.and felt something strike him in the right shoulder's back.

He lost control of the motorcycle and fell over as a result of the accompanying severe pain;As he fell, the motorcycle slid off in a hail of sparks.Isaac got up and looked back, bleeding and scraped. The officer realized that the small, black object in his hands must be a weapon because it was pointed directly at his head.He began to walk back toward his attacker, enraged.

“Freeze!”The officer gave the order.I said, "Fry!"

Isaac continued forward, this time at a faster pace, ignoring the order.Isaac quickly moved to the left, avoiding the small projectile that flew toward his chest as the officer pointed the black object at him and pulled the trigger.

The officer repeatedly pulled the trigger, disconcerted by his attacker's speed, but Isaac dodged each shot and ran full speed ahead. The officer fired two more shots as Isaac dived at him, grabbed him by the neck, threw him to the ground and rolled over before quickly rising to his feet. The officer was caught by the throat in midair, suspended in midair, before he realized what had happened. He struggled to break Isaac's iron grip as he grasped his wrist, horrified to discover he had dropped his gun.

While leaving the officer's legs dangling above the ground, Isaac lowered him just enough to look into his eyes.As he squeezed harder, crushing his windpipe, he observed his victim's expression change from one of fear to one of fascination as the life left his eyes.

The officer's body was thrown to the side of the road by Isaac. He took a look at his freely bleeding shoulder. He turned around and walked back to the motorcycle, got it up, and started it up.He leaned his shoulder up against the large silver tube on the side to cauterize the wound after sensing the heat and letting it run until it reached a dangerous temperature. He got back on the motorcycle and continued down the road after the bleeding stopped

Isaac ’s arms retracted back to normal. He walked through the now silent room, stepping over body after body, searching for any survivors. Blue and red lights began flashing through the broken windows. Isaac turned to investigate, but on his way to the front door, he stopped to search the pockets of the man with the cobra tattoo. After he pulled out the keys to the green motorcycle, he walked out the front door, and he was met by an intensely bright white light. A strangely magnified voice spoke out sharply; the light was so bright he couldn’t see who was speaking, but he recognized one of the words they were using. It was the same word the officer had said to him earlier.“Freeze!” the voice commanded. “Lie on the ground with your hands on your head!”Isaac listened for a moment, trying to pinpoint the location of the voice. Another softer voice spoke to the first, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying. He could tell there were at least two people behind the light, and he

They must have been moving it from room to room, he thought. As he was walking down a particular corridor deep in the temple, he stopped halfway down and faced the wall. With his fingers, he gently felt over the stone and smiled to himself.Ah, they didn’t find this room.He ran his fingertips over the carving of a snake until he got to the eye, and with a little bit of force, he pressed the eye into the wall. The wall opened up, revealing a secret room entirely blanketed with a thick layer of dust.He walked to the right, and on a stone counter were some knives, a blow gun, and some darts, all made of obsidian. He picked up the darts and walked over to what looked like a dried-up fountain protruding from the center of the wall. He pulled down on a stone lever; a cloud of dust billowed toward him from a hole in the top of the fountain, followed by a florescent green liquid which came streaming out of it. He took the darts and held them under the stream, filling the hollow cavities. He

She rolled down the window to talk with him.“Is everything all right, Officer?”“Where are you all heading this morning?” he asked.“I’m Professor White. I am taking my students to see the archeological dig up the road here.”“You’re a bit young to be a professor, don’t you think?” he said.“I’m really smart,” she retorted. “Is there something we can help you with?”“Have you seen anything strange or suspicious today?”“Other than an army of cops way out here? No. What happened?”“We had an incident along this road last night, and the suspect is still at large. He’s got long blond hair down to his shoulders and was last seen driving a green motorcycle and only wearing a pair of beige cargo pants,” he explained. “If you see anything, be sure to give us a call.”“Will do, Officer. You saw the footage,” said Dutch. “What man can jump like that and attack and kill two officers on opposite sides of a car seconds apart from each other without moving over the hood of the vehicle? Where did the claw marks come from? Or the snakebites? And why were they on the necks of the victims instead of near the floor? And one more thing,” he said as he rewound the footage and left it paused on the shot with the man in the entranceway. “Look at his chest. It’s covered in blood, and look—bullet holes—a lot of bullet holes. How can a man just get up from that?”“There’s got to be another rational explanation,” said Captain Johnson.“You know something,” said Lieutenant Edmonds shrewdly. “What are you not telling us?”“I will tell you only if you agree to take on the job,” said Dutch.“I think we need a moment to discuss this,” said Major Bennett. The three men stepped outside. As soon as they closed the door behind them, Captain Johnson said, “This whole thing is ridiculous.”“I do

Hello,” said Kyle.“Nice to meet you,” said Wilson, extending a hand.“Likewise,” said Dr. Ramsey, shaking it.“Are all the professors so young?” asked Dr. Isaacs, chuckling good-naturedly. He looked a few years younger than Dr. Ramsey, and he had dark-brown hair and tough, leathery skin that looked sun baked and weather worn.“Well, we are a newer school. That might make a difference,” said Kyle.“Kristen, have you heard from Leo, Jeff, or Kevin at all since last night?” asked Dr. Isaacs.“No. They didn’t come back?” she asked, concerned.“I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about,” said Dr. Isaacs. “Maybe they just got home late and forgot to check in this morning.”“They know better than that, especially with Kevin in the group. Did you talk to their families yet?” asked Kristen.“We wanted to check with you first before we alarmed them. I will go make the calls right now,” said Dr. Isaacs. He turned and walked outside.“Is everything okay?” asked Wilson.“I don’t know,” said Kristen
