On the horizon, a pair of bright yellow lights pointed directly at him;The lights started making a very loud, straight-toned, squawking sound as they got closer. As the lights and the large object to which they were attached zoomed by on the left, continuing to blast the sound, he swerved to the right.

Isaac paid attention to the moving object. It was much larger than the motorcycle, had four circular legs instead of two, and had a protective casing around the driver.Isaac had passed by while the man inside had yelled angrily at him.He was perplexed as to the man's rage and wondered if he had in any way violated the road's customs of travel. He noticed the yellow lines in the middle when he looked down. When he stopped to think about it, he realized that whatever was transporting people had stayed on one side or the other of the lines, depending on which way they were going; He understood the reasoning given how quickly things moved here.High-speed collisions were likely to be quite violent. He did not move to the left.

Isaac rode along at a breakneck speed for a few minutes. He took in everything and reveled in this new power, despite the wind whipping his face and hair and the blurry passing of the scenery. He could travel in this manner in a matter of minutes and go anywhere he wanted;Previously time-consuming journeys can now be completed quickly. As he increased his speed, straining the motorcycle to its limits, he felt the rush of adrenaline rush through him.As the motorcycle devoured the road, he drank in the night air, savoring the earth and plants' flavors and feeling the ground shake beneath him.He felt like he was flying. He would never be content with just walking again.

Soon after, he saw additional lights ahead, this time emanating from a building. He slowed down and stopped in front of it out of curiosity. It had a large window next to the entrance and appeared to be made of wood. Some kind of transparent barrier surrounded the window, and some brightly lit symbols hung in the middle, changing colors every few seconds. In front of the building, several more motorcycles were lined up next to one another. He carefully examined each one until he noticed one that was particularly exquisite. In the moonlight, the sleek green shone brightly. The antennae were etched with reptilian scales, were longer than the others, and had emerald-colored snakes painted down the sides. On the front was a metal cobra head that was hissing and holding a light in its mouth.

Isaac got on the green motorcycle after getting off the officer's motorcycle. He noticed that the tiny, shiny object needed to start it was missing. He attempted to use the one from the officer's motorcycle, but it was too small and wouldn't turn.He walked up to the front door, grabbed the handle, and opened it, a little disappointed.

Smoke filled the air inside, and a collection of circular, net-like ceiling objects made strange, loud music. To his right, he saw two green tables holding a number of small balls. With their long, narrow wooden staffs, four men stood around the tables. One of the balls was knocked into a small hole in one of the corners by a large man with long, grizzled gray hair and a short goatee.

A brown-haired, thinner man stood to Isaac's left;He had a strange object wrapped around his face from ear to ear.It outlined his eyes and rested on the bridge of his nose, made of metal and the same transparent material as the windows. He was serving drinks to people sitting on stools across from him at a long table that separated him from the rest of the building's inhabitants.

Nearly everyone in the room had the same pale complexion as Isaac. In this strange, new version of his homeland, this must now be the norm. His exterior appearance no longer stood out.Although he briefly felt irritated by this, he eventually came to the conclusion that it might be to his advantage in the event that he ever required camouflage in a crowd.

He began to be noticed by a few people as he stood in the entrance. The expressions on their faces ranged from wonder to skepticism. As he observed Isaac's clothes and the dripping stream of dried blood down his side, a man with thick beard, long brown hair, and an attempt at a smile approached Isaac.

"How are you, buddy? He pressed. He turned to the counterman and said, "Hey, Gus, I think we need to get this guy to the hospital," when Isaac did not respond.

Isaac noticed that he had a cobra tattoo on his arm that looked like the snakes on the green motorcycle as he was speaking. He has to own it.

The man turned to face Isaac once more.Friend, what is your name?

He shrugged and said, "Come on, man, let's go," as Isaac did not respond. He pointed to the entrance, which was open to them by a blonde woman.Isaac remained where he was while the man moved toward the door.

"Are you coming?"asked the man, who was beginning to sound annoyed.

His sleeves were being tugged on by the doorkeeper.

“Jeb . . ."Look outside," she said under her breath, pointing to the officer's motorcycle without a rider.Combining two and two was not difficult. The woman dashed back inside after they exchanged serious glances;Gus, the man behind the counter, heard her whisper something, and his expression changed to one of complete fear.

Jeb moved toward Isaac with a suspicious and wary expression.

"Man, who are you? What took place to you?

Isaac turned to see Gus holding what appeared to be a significantly larger version of the officer's weapon after hearing a faint metallic sound coming from behind the counter. This weapon was made of black metal tube and wood and was long and thin;It was probably more powerful than its smaller counterpart because it appeared to be heavier.Preparing for a fight, Isaac strained his muscles as he carefully observed.

Gus said slowly to the woman, "Stella, call the police."

Stella fiddled for a few seconds with a small, shiny object out of her pocket before holding it up to her ear.As Gus raised the wooden part of the weapon to his shoulder and pointed the black metal tube at Isaac's chest, his gaze remained fixed on Isaac.

He said with sternness, "You stay right here."

Isaac sprinted forward in a split second and swiftly took the weapon from Gus's grasp;Gus took a step back and raised his hands in surrender, now appearing truly terrified.Isaac turned the weapon over as he looked at it.He pulled the underside's small lever back with his finger.with a strong thud! The weapon dropped toward the ground with a jerk.A number of people in the room yelled and hid behind chairs and tables.Isaac was as surprised by the blast as anyone else, but despite the pain, he managed to hold onto the weapon. His head and shoulders were hit with pieces of the ceiling; He threw the offensive object to the ground behind him and grunted in resentment.

Things happened quickly after that.Gus grabbed Isaac by the arm in an effort to restrain him as he glanced down at the spot on his leg where the weapon's bottom had struck him.Gus' arm was hyperextended by Isaac, who then twisted it around and forced him to the ground facedown.Isaac gave him a menacing hiss before breaking his neck with a stomp.

The sight of Gus dead on the ground caused a commotion among the crowd.Around Isaac, the four men with staffs gathered in a half circle;First to swing was the man with the gray goatee. The man released the staff from Isaac's grasp, and Isaac stabbed him in the chest with the short end.He was struck in the back by another man's swing. As the staff split in half, Isaac raised his arm to stop the blow.He stabbed the man in the neck with one of the broken pieces he had caught.Isaac grabbed both of their staffs and rotated his hands downward, causing them to split in half. He then threw them at the remaining two men like spears, impaling them both.

The bald, bulky man Isaac had seen earlier on the road got up and charged, armed with a knife; As he ran, Isaac grabbed his knife arm and threw him out the window.

Isaac heard a loud bang as he turned back toward the people.and felt a light but powerful blow to his chest.Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang! As a blond man pointing a silvery weapon at him with both hands, he was struck five more times, causing him to stumble backward.Isaac was unable to breathe. It felt like someone had simultaneously stabbed him multiple times and placed a huge boulder on his chest, and the pain was incredible. He couldn't breathe, no matter how hard he tried, and it felt like he was going to die.He fell to the ground and closed his eyes as he fought the dark fog that threatened to overwhelm him.

The brunette cautiously approached Isaac's body and gave him a foot push.He turned back to Stella and asked, "Where are the police?" when he received no response.Shouldn't they already be here?

His pupils had elongated into vertical slits and were no longer green but brilliant yellow when Isaac's eyes snapped open. With two-inch-long claws protruding from his fingertips, he grabbed the brunette and squeezed his ankle, sending him to the ground. He sunk his claws into the man's neck, just below the jawline, using his other hand.Isaac got up, pushed the man to the side, and fixed the other people with a ferocious stare. In a threatening growl, he opened his mouth and bared his teeth;Where his canines had been, sharp fangs protruded. The people were stunned and unable to move. How was this man, this terrifying creature, still alive?

Isaac ’s arms retracted back to normal. He walked through the now silent room, stepping over body after body, searching for any survivors. Blue and red lights began flashing through the broken windows. Isaac turned to investigate, but on his way to the front door, he stopped to search the pockets of the man with the cobra tattoo. After he pulled out the keys to the green motorcycle, he walked out the front door, and he was met by an intensely bright white light. A strangely magnified voice spoke out sharply; the light was so bright he couldn’t see who was speaking, but he recognized one of the words they were using. It was the same word the officer had said to him earlier.“Freeze!” the voice commanded. “Lie on the ground with your hands on your head!”Isaac listened for a moment, trying to pinpoint the location of the voice. Another softer voice spoke to the first, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying. He could tell there were at least two people behind the light, and he

They must have been moving it from room to room, he thought. As he was walking down a particular corridor deep in the temple, he stopped halfway down and faced the wall. With his fingers, he gently felt over the stone and smiled to himself.Ah, they didn’t find this room.He ran his fingertips over the carving of a snake until he got to the eye, and with a little bit of force, he pressed the eye into the wall. The wall opened up, revealing a secret room entirely blanketed with a thick layer of dust.He walked to the right, and on a stone counter were some knives, a blow gun, and some darts, all made of obsidian. He picked up the darts and walked over to what looked like a dried-up fountain protruding from the center of the wall. He pulled down on a stone lever; a cloud of dust billowed toward him from a hole in the top of the fountain, followed by a florescent green liquid which came streaming out of it. He took the darts and held them under the stream, filling the hollow cavities. He

She rolled down the window to talk with him.“Is everything all right, Officer?”“Where are you all heading this morning?” he asked.“I’m Professor White. I am taking my students to see the archeological dig up the road here.”“You’re a bit young to be a professor, don’t you think?” he said.“I’m really smart,” she retorted. “Is there something we can help you with?”“Have you seen anything strange or suspicious today?”“Other than an army of cops way out here? No. What happened?”“We had an incident along this road last night, and the suspect is still at large. He’s got long blond hair down to his shoulders and was last seen driving a green motorcycle and only wearing a pair of beige cargo pants,” he explained. “If you see anything, be sure to give us a call.”“Will do, Officer. You saw the footage,” said Dutch. “What man can jump like that and attack and kill two officers on opposite sides of a car seconds apart from each other without moving over the hood of the vehicle? Where did the claw marks come from? Or the snakebites? And why were they on the necks of the victims instead of near the floor? And one more thing,” he said as he rewound the footage and left it paused on the shot with the man in the entranceway. “Look at his chest. It’s covered in blood, and look—bullet holes—a lot of bullet holes. How can a man just get up from that?”“There’s got to be another rational explanation,” said Captain Johnson.“You know something,” said Lieutenant Edmonds shrewdly. “What are you not telling us?”“I will tell you only if you agree to take on the job,” said Dutch.“I think we need a moment to discuss this,” said Major Bennett. The three men stepped outside. As soon as they closed the door behind them, Captain Johnson said, “This whole thing is ridiculous.”“I do

Hello,” said Kyle.“Nice to meet you,” said Wilson, extending a hand.“Likewise,” said Dr. Ramsey, shaking it.“Are all the professors so young?” asked Dr. Isaacs, chuckling good-naturedly. He looked a few years younger than Dr. Ramsey, and he had dark-brown hair and tough, leathery skin that looked sun baked and weather worn.“Well, we are a newer school. That might make a difference,” said Kyle.“Kristen, have you heard from Leo, Jeff, or Kevin at all since last night?” asked Dr. Isaacs.“No. They didn’t come back?” she asked, concerned.“I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about,” said Dr. Isaacs. “Maybe they just got home late and forgot to check in this morning.”“They know better than that, especially with Kevin in the group. Did you talk to their families yet?” asked Kristen.“We wanted to check with you first before we alarmed them. I will go make the calls right now,” said Dr. Isaacs. He turned and walked outside.“Is everything okay?” asked Wilson.“I don’t know,” said Kristen

How did they die?” asked Carrie.“We don’t know. Dr. Isaacs found them and called 911. The police cordoned off the whole area when they got here, saying it was a crime scene, so we weren’t able to get in there to document any artifacts ourselves.”She looked at Dr. Ramsey, who was hanging his head sadly, then turned back to the students.“I’m sorry. It’s kind of a sensitive subject around here, so if you don’t mind, we should move on.”She led them toward a short hallway through the back wall to the right of the throne. Wilson walked beside Kristen and asked quietly, “That girl who asked about Isaac —how is it she doesn’t know who he is? Is she not one of your students?”“No, she’s not. She’s the only one though. I made a special exception. It was Kyle’s request.”“Kyle’s request?”“Yeah, apparently she’s got a friend in the class who tells her all about it. I’m assuming it’s Lisa since they seem to be pretty close. That’s her,” she said, pointing to the girl with red hair. “Anyway, w
