Back at his dorm, Sabastian got ready and dressed in simply clothing.
A long black sleeve shirt, and black 3-quarter pants.
He left his hair down, then made his way to the door.
When he got to the venue, all eyes turned to see who was coming out of the new Bugatti.
Several male students from the university flocked around Sabastian after he stepped out of the car.
‘’Oh man, this is a sweet car. I had no idea someone like you could afford a car like this. Unless you are working for a rich man and you took his ride for a spin,’’ Brad, a boy whose father owned several pharmaceutical companies, said.
‘’Hmm,’’ was all Sabastian said in response.
‘’Come on, man, tell me how you got this sweet ride. Because you were struggling to even eat and all of a sudden you are driving a fucking sports car.’’
Another male student joined in to mock Sabastian.
‘’Maybe his sugar daddy bought it for him. The punk seems like the type to bend over for a man.’’
Those who were gathered around laughed and mocked Sabastian even more.’’
After entering the main hall, Sabastian searched the room for Aaliyah, but instead, his eyes landed on Molly and in that moment, she spotted him as well.
Molly said something to the group of people she was standing with. A few laughed, but they all looked in Sabastian’s direction.
She flipped her hair over her shoulders, then snapped her fingers and two girls walked up to Sabastian with her.
‘’And what are you doing here?’’ Molly asked, loud enough, clearly for those she was speaking with moments ago to hear.
‘’Why are you here?’’ Sabastian asked.
Molly scoffed at him. ‘’For the party.’’
‘’Exactly,’’ Sabastian said, then brushed past her.
Not about to let Sabastian embarrass her before everyone, Molly rushed after him.
‘’Why are you here, you little poor trash? This is a prestigious party, and your kind isn’t welcomed here, unless it’s to work. So, leave!’’ Molly yelled.
‘’Yes, why are you pretending to be rich?’’ a guy asked, standing beside Molly.
Hearing this, Aaliyah hurried over to break up things before it could escalate. She hugged Sabastian.
‘’I’m so glad you came.’’
‘’Well, I was invited by you.’’ He then held up a gift and Aaliyah smiled.
‘’Oh… you didn’t have to get me anything.’’
Molly went up to them.
‘’Exactly, you didn’t have to get her anything because now you will be broker than you were. And I bet you didn’t even buy Aaliyah anything of value, maybe some little cheap trash!’’
Aaliyah turned to Molly.
‘’What is your problem?’’
‘’My problem is this poor man being here. Why would you invite someone like him here?’’
‘’Well, if you don’t like it, then leave,’’ Aaliyah told Molly.
Molly’s mouth fell open. ‘’Really, throw me out for this trash? If not for me, these people wouldn’t be here. Just know that it was my mere presence that has attracted everyone to your below average party.’’
Aaliyah looked about to cry, so she hurried away.
‘’God, you are such a bitch,’’ Sabastian told Molly.
Sabastian went to put his gift on the table with the others, while doing so, a girl walked over to him.
She sighed. ‘’Molly is right, a poor man like you shouldn’t even be here. And if you think buying Aaliyah some cheap little gift, will get here to like you. Then it’s nothing but laughable. Aaliyah’s family network is 100 million. You will only be there to take and can’t give.’’
‘’I’m studying to become a Financial Manager,’’ Sabastian told her.
‘’So? You’ll still be poor,’’ she scoffed. ‘’It’s not like you will be owning your own company, you’ll be working for someone, and that’s all you’ll do for the rest of your life,’’ she added.
For the rest of the party, Sabastian stayed out of everyone’s way. Only taking food and drinks when given to him.
A group of men made their way over to Sabastian.
‘’I thought you would have left already,’’ one said before sipping on whatever was in his cup.
‘’Why would I leave?’’ Sabastian raised a brow at him.
‘’Because this isn't your scene, we aren't your people.’’ He said.
‘’Yeah, you belong outside with the dogs,’’ one said in a mocking voice, and they laughed.
‘’And where do you idiots belong? In a lab for them to study how your small brain works.’’ Sabastian smirked after seeing that his words had much more effect on them.
‘’Look at you, thinking you are somebody. But we will see who has the last laugh when you have to live on the streets, and I pass you by in my car.’’
Sabastian shook his head. ‘’Clearly, money really can’t buy everything. That includes happiness and sense.’’
‘’Ahaha,’’ one gave a fake laugh. ‘’Of course, we are happy.’’
‘’Clearly you are not, because if you were, you wouldn’t be here bothering me. Happy people mind their business,’’ Sabastian said.
The man frowned at him. ‘’What do you know? You are poor.’’
Sabastian said nothing, just stared at him until he and his friends left.
‘’Ok, guys. It’s time to open the gifts,’’ Aaliyah’s mother announced, and everyone made their way closer to where Aaliyah was sitting on a white throne.
But Sabastian remained where he was, not wanting to mix with everyone because of how stuck up they were.
‘’Ok, the first gift is from… me,’’ the older woman smiled, then handed Aaliyah a present wrapped in pink paper.
Aaliyah held up the single key with a questioning look.
‘’It’s your new house!’’ Her mother cheered, but Aaliyah didn’t seem so happy about that.
‘’The next one is from Sabastian,’’ her mother hurriedly said.
‘’Might be grass and stones,’’ Molly said, and a few people around them laughed.
‘’Now, now. Let’s be nice.’’ Aaliyah’s mother said.
‘’Come on, a poor man bought that. Let’s not embarrass him by opening it,’’ a man said.
‘’A poor man?’’ Aaliyah’s mother asked, confused.
‘’Yes, Aaliyah invited the poorest person on campus to her party,’’ Molly laughed.
‘’Well, it’s not nice to judge people by their financial status,’’ Aaliyah’s mother frowned.
Aaliyah held up her gift from Sabastian, and the place fell silent.
‘’Is that a Solitaire collection?’’ Molly was the one to break the silence.
‘’It is,’’ Aaliyah said with a smile.
She then took the mic from her mother.
‘’Thank you, Sabastian.’’
‘’What the hell? How can someone like him even afford to buy jewelry like that? It’s even a new collection, arriving yesterday morning,’’ Molly almost screeched.
Aaliyah stood up for Sabastian.
‘’Honestly, what is your problem with Sabastian? I have never seen him do or say anything to you, but yet everyday you belittle him. Why?’’
‘’It doesn’t matter. He must have spent his entire life savings from the Burger Shack, all in the name, to impress you. Sad, because now I doubt he can even pay for his schooling,’’ a man said.
‘’Exactly, he is poor. There is no way he could be rich,’’ Molly said.
She couldn’t believe that someone like Sabastian could afford to buy such expensive jewelry, especially one her card was declined on.
‘’That loser is nothing but a fake. And I bet the Bugatti he is driving isn’t even his,’’ a man said.
Sabastian could feel hate building up in him towards Molly, something he didn’t like feeling, but he was embarrassed by the way she was talking about him. She was also making something out of nothing and taking the attention off Aaliyah.
With a sigh, Sabastian began to make his way to the entrance, but he was stopped.
‘’You punk, the idiot who told me that happy people mind their own business. You need to stop.’’
‘’What do you want?’’ Sabastian asked.
The man scoffed. ‘’You have nothing to give.’’
‘’Then leave me alone.’’
‘’Not until you admit that you stole that jewelry.’’
Molly hurried forward. ‘’That must be it, because he is too poor to even afford to live. Somebody call the security, and everyone check your pockets. He is nothing but a thief.’’
Aaliyah’s mother came on the mic.
‘’Ok, you all need to stop it. I will not tolerate this behavior from any of you. And if you didn’t like the fact that this man is there, then leave.’’
Sabastian shook his head and still headed for the door.
Aaliyah chased after him, and when she got close, she grabbed hold of his hand.
‘’Sabastian, please don’t leave?’’
‘’I have an exam on Monday and would rather to go study than to stay here with a bunch of spoilt over grown kids who think they are better than me.’’
Aaliyah looked up at him with sad eyes.
‘’I’m so sorry Sabastian, I didn’t ask you here for you to be laughed at or feel embarrassed. I wanted you here, and if I had known Molly would keep up with her foolishness, then I wouldn’t have invited her.’’
‘’It’s ok, I don’t care, and their words don’t affect me in the way they think it would. Simply because they don’t know shit about me, but I’ll go to make them more comfortable.’’
‘’Why does Molly treat you like this?’’
Sabastian shrugged. ‘’I don’t know, and I honestly don’t care.’’
Aaliyah moved forward, went up on her toes, then kissed Sabastian on the cheek. Her brown hair tickled his neck, and he pulled away.
‘’Hmm… drive safe,’’ Aaliyah told him, then gave his hand a squeeze.
Sabastian hung up the phone after talking to his father. The old man wanted to have a party to introduce him to everyone, as a way for him to be initiated into the family's business.Though Sabastian would rather be a private man and hide the fact that he is rich to not attract unwanted people in his life. For now, the only people he can trust were his family and maybe Aaliyah, seeing that she wasn't as superficial as he thought. As Sabastian left his dorm, he went somewhere to get a few suits so he could not only attend the event but also have another for some other occasion. When he went to the downtown area, Sabastian entered into a store that seemed as if they had well tailored clothes."Hello -" The man stopped to look at him."What do you want?"Sabastian raised a brow. "I can't in here to buy a suit or two."The man shook his head. "Sorry, but you must have lost your way.""Why do you think that?" Sabastian asked."Just look at you, a scruffy little bugger."Sabastian frowned.
"Ok, since you and your brother don't have a suit as yet. I'll just come with you both," Mrs. Westchester suggested. "I do have my suit. It's being made and will be here soon," Sam made known."Well, it's just Sabastian then."Sabastian looked at his mother."That's not necessary."Mrs. Westchester waved him off. "I want to make sure you get something that suits you. You have no fashion sense, just like your father."Mr. Westchester put his fork down. "I'll let you know that I have emaculate fashion sense. Not because I refuse to let you dress me up like a Christmas tree."After breakfast, Mrs. Westchester and Sabastian made their way downtown."Mom, I don't know if dad told you... but did you send a lady to that diner?""What are you talking about, dear?""There was a lady in a big hat who kept coming to the diner and tipping me. She gave me $1,000 dollars and more. So I thought maybe it was you since it wasn't dad.""Oh, no."Sabastian sat back in his chair, wondering who the lady w
"Thank you, everyone. I know that not many of you know me. Mostly because I'm always away at school or just bagpacking around the world in my free time.""But now that my father had tasked me with such a wonderful opportunity, it is time to put my childish ways behind me and be the best CEO since my father."Everyone clapped.Sabastian made his way back to where Aaliyah was standing. Her eyes followed his every move until he stopped before her."Hi," she said. "Now is see why you didn't need that invitation.""Sabastian," a soft voice came, then someone touched the back of his arm.Molly soon stood beside him."Wow, did I tell you how handsome you look tonight?"Sabastian scoffed at her. "I thought I was too poor to even be in your presence? So what's with the complement now?""I was only just, all those times." She laughed. "How could you not know that? It was all a joke.""Well, jokes you. I'm not interested." Molly frowned. "What does she have that I don't?"Sabastian could make a
While back on campus, not many people knew that Sabastian was secretly a wealthy person, and he was grateful for that and hoped to keep it that way.He hated all the unwanted attention that he was now getting from all the ‘rich kids’. They were all acting like his friend when they wouldn’t even look at him two days ago.‘’Sabastian,’’ Aaliyah whispered his name, as they were in the library and couldn’t talk too loudly.‘’A bunch of us are going out for a few burgers. Would you like to come?’’‘’I… who will be coming?’’‘’Not so sure, but I know that Chris, Johnny, and Diane will be coming.’’Sabastian nodded to himself. Not knowing who they were, he agreed.Aaliyah smiled. ‘’Cool, you can meet us at the gate at 5pm.’’Sabastian went back to studying for his upcoming exam.He then glanced up to where Aaliyah was sitting with her back to him. Of all the females on campus, he admired her the most and was willing to ask her if she would date him. If not, then he would just have to find so
Sabastian immediately found his father.‘’Dad, did a woman by the name of Suzan Henry got employment at your company recently?’’Mr. Westchester looked up at him in confusion. ‘’I honestly wouldn’t know that, why?’’‘’Can you find out for me please?’’Mr. Westchester made a few calls, but none of his company had anyone by that name working there.‘’Maybe mom. Thanks.’’Mr. Westchester tried to stop his son but saw that he was on a mission and let him be.‘’Mom, are you busy?’’ Sabastain asked after seeing her with a book in hand and phone to her ear.‘’Never for you.’’ She hung up whatever call she was on.‘’Do you know if a Suzan Henry is employed at to you?’’‘’Hmm, I think so.’’ Mrs. Westchester typed on the computer before nodding.‘’Yes, she was employed only today. Why?’’Sabastian began to explain things to his mother.‘’Who is this Brad?’’ Mrs. Westchester asked.‘’Bradley Newton,’’ Sabastian made known.‘’Oh, Errol’s son. Wow, he has some nerve making fun of people. I was thi
*** Meanwhile***‘’Mr. Newton, sorry, but the withdrawal of the amount has been declined.’’ The bank teller said to the nervous looking man before him.‘’What? Are you telling me that I can withdraw my own money?’’‘’No, I’m telling you that you don’t have that amount of money to withdraw it.’’Mr. Newton frowned.‘’This must be a joke.’’Then he thought.‘’Ok, I would like to withdraw $25,000,000 instead.’’The teller shook his head.‘’Sir, you don’t have that much in your account.’’Mr. Newton seemed perplexed.‘’$15,000,000 then.’’The teller, having second-hand embarrassment, turned the monitor for Mr. Newton to see.‘’What? That’s impossible,’’ Mr. Newton said in disbelief. He looked at the screen again, not believing his eyes.He only had a thousand dollars in his bank account.‘’How?’’“I don’t know sir,’’ the teller told him.Just then, Mr. Newton’s phone rang, and it was his wife. She sounded frantic.‘’Honey, there are people in the house telling me that I need to get out.’’
“Sabastian, your mother can’t stop talking about how successful you were in buying Mr. Newton’s company.’’‘’It wasn’t so hard once she told me what to do.’’‘’Well, I have a new task for you.’’Sabastian nodded. ‘’I’m listening.’’‘’Good, I had invested in mining company and lets just say that we got lucky. They found gold and a few other precious gems. How about you go down to the water front, and have a talk with Dale for, he should be expecting you.’’‘’About what exactly?’’ Sabastian asked.‘’Oh, he will know.’’Mr. Westchester winked at his son then walked away.Sabastian stood there for a while before leaving as well, thinking that this was just another test of his father. When he got to the address, at first Sabastian just stared up at the 6 stories building. Wondering what kind of work Dale did, and why his father sent him there.Sabastian looked down at himself, shrugged and entered the glass building. He walked the long hallway that had portraits of a man, no doubt it was D
As Sabastian followed behind Dale, he thought that he never expected the man to be like this. He was honestly thinking of Daniel because that’s how most rich people are in Wisteria Hill.‘’You said you owed everything to my father,’’ Sabastian said.‘’Oh, yes. I was nothing but a beggar on the street and would wash car windows to try and get by on the few cents I would receive. One day Mr. Westchester and a few men were walking by, they all mocked me except for him.’’Dale seemed to smile at the memory.‘’He asked me what I would do with a $1,000,000 and I told him that I would open my own business. And it shocked everyone when he took out his check book and told me exactly who to go to at the bank.’’‘’But I fell on my face when I got involved with Diane, a woman who was only after money. I was back on the streets after the small bakery I had failed, and she left because I just couldn’t maintain her lifestyle. Again, your father helped me and now I have this.’’ Dale opened his arms w
