As Leon tossed the car door far away, the woman hurriedly went to her child in the back seat, she pulled her out and cradled her in her arms. The car was going up in smoke, and Leon could tell that it would be firing up soon, "It's dangerous to be this close to the car, I think it's going to explode," he warned the woman and then led both mother and daughter away from the car which was slowly going up in flames.
A good distance away from the car and the crowd that began to gather at the scene, Leon could see the mother shaking the girl, trying to resuscitate her.
"She's not responding, she isn't waking up!" The woman cried helplessly as she tried everything but the girl remained limp in her arms.
The woman was helpless, she could not bear to lose her daughter, she shook her and cried out, tears pouring down her face helplessly. Leon moved to her, he felt pity for her, and her hopeless weeping tore at his heart. "She isn't waking?" He asked, it was a pointless question but he didn't know what else to say.
The mother nodded, "She's not waking up," she sobbed. Leon moved her aside and the woman gladly stepped away, ready to receive any kind of help that Leon could offer, as long as it brought her daughter back.
Leon touched the girl's body and immediately, he felt a power within him. He knew that it was the mystic power of the Apollo ring. With his hands upon her, he began to scan her body, and his healing power was activated, he felt all her organs and the power showed him that the little girl had a fracture.
He was confused, he couldn't understand why a fracture would make her lose consciousness, but as his powers searched deeper, it was revealed that the girl had a congenital heart disease and that was the reason for her unconsciousness and not the accident.
Leon looked up at the mother, he wondered if she knew her daughter's condition, but he knew that he couldn't tell her without being asked how he knew, so he decided to keep it to himself and simply heal her. Summoning the powers he now knew were within him, Leon screamed internally, trying to awaken his healing power and quickly bring the girl back. Meanwhile, to make it believable and to avoid questions from the distraught mother, he kneeled before the girl and pretended to perform CPR. He blew into her nose and mouth and applied light pressure on her chest.
The woman watched, her eyes hopeful as Leon continued to blow into her nose and her mouth and press down on her chest. "Please save my daughter," she begged.
Leon summoned his power again, but he discovered shockingly that he didn't have enough of the deity power to heal her.
Still unable to understand how his newfound gift worked, Leon yelled again from within, his lips shut tight as he tried to summon the powers again to heal her, but he discovered that he was completely drained and could not sense anything. The power within him was fading, he felt drained.
Leon leaned on the ground, away from the girl, as he tried to catch his breath. The power had run out, he felt weak.
Unable to explain his sudden exhaustion, he was still on the floor, hoping that the little girl would recover. That was when he realized that his powers had worked. The little power he had left in him was able to take the girl out of immediate danger. He'd been able to heal her before he was emptied of the power of the deity.
The woman rushed to the girl as she blinked open her eyes, "Oh my God! She's awake!" She yelled joyously, the joy and disbelief evident in her tone as she rushed to her on the ground, hurling her up and cradling her softly against her chest.
She turned to Leon who was on the ground too, looking like he was tired. She couldn't explain why he appeared so weak, but she was too excited to think further. In excitement, she thanked Leon, "Thank you so much, you've saved my daughter's life," she said happily, she believed that it was the CPR that Leon had performed that resuscitated the little girl.
He simply nodded at her, he was still feeling very weak on the floor, "I'm very grateful, my daughter would have been gone without you, thank you." He said again, happy tears streaming down her face. She clutched the girl to her like she was afraid that she'd slip out of consciousness again. But Leon knew that it wasn't the CPR that he'd performed - which wasn't even real - that healed her, it was his deity powers and now, he had run out of it.
Surprisingly, as she continued to thank him and express her gratitude, Leon discovered that he was being energized, he could feel the power within him grow, like the deity power was being restored. Soon, he felt strong again and he got off the floor.
The little girl was fully awake now and Leon could see the joy in her mother's eyes. Leon looked at both of them, he wondered why he'd suddenly felt renewed when he'd been weak just a few seconds ago after healing her. Leon knew little about the deity's power but he had expected that it would take a few hours or maybe days for him to finally heal and restore the power, but surprisingly, he was back to normal, totally energized in just a few seconds.
Then it occurred to him what had just happened, he now understood that it was the woman's appreciation as his daughter regained consciousness that built his deity power again. He now understood his gift, that he could use his powers to save people, and then their appreciation would make the power restore.
"Damn," he muttered slowly as the light bulb went off in his head.
Shortly after the girl woke up and Leon's powers were fully restored, the ambulance that one of the onlookers had called arrived, it was time for her to take the girl to the hospital. The woman got up from the floor and hurried to the ambulance to hand her daughter over to the paramedics, then she returned to thank Leon again, this time, she held his hands firmly. "My name is Louisa, I want to thank you for saving my daughter's life, I'm in your debt," she said, holding onto his hands. Through her touch, Leon's deity power came alive and he began to see what was wrong with her, the healing gift was able to sense that there was an abnormality in her blood, there was an alien substance that was messing with her system, the power of the Apollo ring showed him that she was under the influence of drugs. Leon was confused at first, he wondered why she had the strange substance in her bloodstream, but then it all made sense, she had been drugged but someone and that was why she had the acc
On arriving at the hospital, Louisa was panicked, she looked at her daughter as she was being rushed in the stretcher into the emergency room, her condition even more critical. She was pacing frantically when a doctor came out from the emergency room and she hurried to him, "Please, save my daughter's life, I am willing to give anything to make sure that she's better," she pleaded desperately. The doctor looked at her and said, "Her condition is very bad, her heart is barely powerful enough to keep all her organs intact, she will need a transplant immediately if she is to pull through," he warned. Louisa nodded eagerly, "I am willing to give anything, I was even heading to the hospital for her heart surgery before the accident happened and worsened her condition, is there anything that can be done? I don't want to lose my daughter," The doctor nodded and said that there was an available donor and that the heart transplant could be undergone quickly. "Yes, let's get it done, I am w
Leon watched as the woman's face fell in fright. What would happen to her daughter now that she had no money to offset the hospital bills?"But...you have to help my daughter, she doesn't have much time, she needs the surgery, I beg of you, doctor," she pleaded. The doctor sneered at her and warned her to not make a scene or he'd have the security men throw her out. "We will need money for the surgery, ma'am, if you can't give it then you'll have to take your daughter elsewhere," the doctor said rudely. Fiona turned to look at her cousin who still stood by the door, his hands crossed over his chest and a smirk on his face. "Please, you can have whatever you want, but please just give me some money to save my daughter's life," Fiona begged but he didn't budge, instead of the pity she expected, he simply laughed at her. "She was never yours, she's not part of the family and she doesn't deserve anything from me," he spat. The doctor was about to walk away and order that the little
Leon left the hospital that day, promising to contact Fiona again and make sure the little girl was okay. Fiona feels heavily indebted to him and tells him that he can back out so he doesn't go to prison but Leon is insistent, he wants to help her and her daughter. Although Leon is worried about the hospital loan, his most pressing need is how to get accommodation for the night since he can't return home to his wife after the divorce. He arrived at a little bed and breakfast in the town but he has no money to pay for the night. Leon tries to strike a deal with them that he'll pay the next day when he's made some money but the receptionist isn't so kind. "We don't need poor folks like you here, pay up or get the hell out before I let the security do it!" The man snapped at him, his bulging eyes opened even wider.Leon hissed at him, but he knew he couldn't refuse, after all, the bed and breakfast wasn't a charity organization, and he had to pay. "Okay, I guess I'll come back when I
The next day, Leon woke to the smell of fresh coffee and some muffins as he opened his eyes. There was a knock on the door and he asked the person to come on. One of the chefs asked him if he was ready to come down from breakfast or if he'd rather have it in his room. Leon was famished and asked that the breakfast be brought into his room. He could see the espresso and fresh muffins and his mouth watered. "Is there anything else you need, sir?" The man asked and Leon shook his head. He hurried over his breakfast and quickly put on the fresh t-shirt and jeans that he'd been provided with. He had to leave soon, he had to make $600,000 by some miracle before two weeks and a day was already wasted. Outside the B&B, he saw the receptionist talking with a fat man at the entrance. Immediately the receptionist saw him, he smiled widely and asked him to come. "Let me introduce you to the owner of this place, I spoke to him about you last night and he'd be thrilled to have you work for us a
The next day arrived fast. Leon arrived at the clinic rather early, he'd wasted a little time on the train ride because he had to heal a woman with acute arthritis and then another boy who had flu. The power of the ring was seemingly leading him to where people needed help. He looked at his pocket and realized that he'd spent all the money given to him by the doctor the previous day on accommodation for the night and then bought some food for himself and a certain homeless man. But he was hopeful, now that he was in the clinic, he was sure they'd make a lot of money and if he did well then he could ask his boss for a loan to settle the hospital and then work the loan off. It was as if his life was quickly making sense. He was using his newfound powers to make a change and he was going to make some money to have a better life too. Happy and expectant of a better life, he walked into the small clinic that morning and noticed that the nurse seemed a little cold. "You'll have
Leon did not have a car which he could follow Clinton with, so he opted for a taxi to trail him. Clinton drove down to the suburbs before he parked just beside a modest duplex. He didn't get out of the car for another few minutes. "This is going to cost you more, you know that, amigo?" The driver told Leon impatiently. Leon looked at his wallet and discovered he barely had enough change to cover the ride as it was, he decided to pay the cab driver off. As the car drove off, he got down and quickly hid behind a sycamore tree just outside the house. Shortly after, a thin and tall man came to the car and got inside. From where he hid, Leon could not hear anything that both men were saying. He could only hear the rumble of the car engine as it sat by the sidewalk. It wasn't long before the tall man left the vehicle, a small smile on his face, and walked into the duplex with a small brown envelope, then Clinton sped off. Leon knew he had to follow the man if he wanted clues, he di
Daniel looked at his son who was still at the doorway, looking interested in the conversation. "This is adults talk, get in the house," he told the boy and he reluctantly walked inside with the grandmother. Now, Leon was all alone with Daniel and he could talk. "How do you know about Clinton and the George company?" Daniel asked hastily. He looked at the house and told them to walk away from the earshot of his family whom he was sure was listening up from the window. "Why are you here?" Daniel asked him, his voice very low. He didn't want to agitate his family, especially after the argument he'd just had with his wife. "I saw you and Clinton together and I saw the manilla envelope in your hand," Daniel said, nodding at the house, "And your wife is right, you are putting your family in danger." "That's none of your business and neither is my relationship with Clinton," he said, baring his teeth. "Do you know that Clinton is not only trying to ruin Fiona but he might mak
