Feel guilty

Benedict was a little surprised to hear his words, but he remained silent, carrying out his profession professionally.

The security guard nodded in understanding and then ran into the house. It didn't take long for him to come back out with a smiling face as he opened the door wide. "Grand Master is waiting for you inside, please come in!"

"Thank you," said Ethan, who began to take steps with Benedict faithfully following him.

The first thing they saw when they crossed the threshold was a hallway whose right side was filled with paintings, while the left side had two stacked shelves filled with unique items and women's handbags.

"Sir?" Benedict shouldn't have been surprised because the Waverly lord was a designer, so surely these were his creations. But still, seeing them lined up like this amazed him.

"You can ask whatever you want to ask later. Come on!" In contrast to Ethan, who only glanced at the items and stared straight ahead.

A maid came and directed them to the parlor. Grand Master Waverly and his wife were waiting there, sitting next to each other with laughter, looking warm and romantic.

Ethan unconsciously carved out a smile. "Grand Master Waverly."

Instantly, Grand Master Waverly stopped his laughter and turned his head. His friendly smile instantly graced his face as he hurried to his feet. "You're Celeste's family's son-in-law, right?"

Ethan shook Grand Master Waverly's hand, then turned to Grand Mistress Waverly, who had also gracefully stood up. Benedict did the same. "Not anymore. We've gone our separate ways."

"Oh? I'm sorry I didn't know. Aren't you guys doing well?" Grand Master Waverly looked curious. "But, when did you split up?"

Suddenly, Grand Mistress Waverly patted his arm lightly while snorting softly, not liking the question.

Then she looked at Ethan with a smile. "Please take a seat, Ethan. Just ignore my husband's questions if you feel uncomfortable. He's like this, it's hard to hold back."

Ethan chuckled softly. "It's all right, madam."

"Did you hear? He said it's fine," said Mr. Waverly, who sat back down. But his position was not as relaxed as before. It was clear he still wanted to hear an answer from Ethan.

Great Mistress Waverly chuckled softly. "But still. He's our guest, and it's his first time coming, let's not make him feel uncomfortable."

"Ethan, are you uncomfortable?" Instead of listening to what his wife had to say, Grand Master Waverly asked Ethan a question, to which he immediately replied with a shake.

"Not. You can ask me anything you want. I don't mind. But before that, I apologize for disturbing your time with this sudden visit."

"No problem. We've never been particularly busy. You can come whenever you want," said the Great Mistress of Waverly with a gentle smile.

The graceful aura of the woman wearing a simple white dress was even more noticeable, just like the royal ladies.

"Thank you, madam," Ethan said sincerely.

But suddenly, he remembered something and turned his head toward Benedict. "This is my assistant, Benedict."

The couple's gaze, whose hair had turned white, was immediately fixed on Benedict. They smiled, making Benedict nervous, and hurriedly looked down.

"Ethan, you said earlier that you had separated. But are you still working for them?" asked Grand Master Waverly, who turned serious.

"What did you say? They've split up, surely Ethan gets a cut of that," interrupted Great Mistress Waverly.

"Is that so?" Grand Master Waverly looked at his wife and Ethan in turn.

Of course, Ethan shook his head, still with his smiling face. "No, they didn't. They didn't give me anything."

"Then?"

"Great Master Waverly, I'm sorry for what happened one year ago." However, instead of answering, Ethan said something else.

"What?" Not only was Great Master Waverly confused, but Great Mistress Waverly and Benedict were also looking at him questioningly.

"I know that what you felt back then I can't make up for with anything. But I hope you and Madame like it." Ethan took the paper bag Benedict was holding and placed it on the table. "I apologize again."

The Grand Master of Waverly took the paper bag, picked up one of the boxes inside, and opened it. Instantly, he fell silent.

"I'm so sorry for not being able to do anything back then," Ethan said again.

"Honey, what happened?" Mrs. Waverly whispered to her husband, not understanding everything.

Unfortunately, Grand Master Waverly paid her no mind and was now back to staring intently at Ethan.

"Now, my coming here is to make up for what happened. Grand Master Waverly, would you like to cooperate with me in the Pasaraya?" Finally, Ethan said his purpose.

"The store? So it's yours now?" Shock instantly hit Great Master Waverly.

**

"Sir, is the cooperation to replace Mrs. Celeste's products?" asked Benedict after they were in the car driving away from the Waverly residence.

Ethan, who was focused on his cell phone, replying to a message from Hazel, replied, "No. No matter what decision Madame Celeste makes, this cooperation will continue."

Benedict nodded in understanding. He was silent for a moment as if he was considering something. Until finally, he asked again fearfully. "But isn't Waverly's company much smaller than Celeste's? Will this work, sir?"

Instantly, Ethan's finger movements stopped. He lowered his cell phone and stared out the window, looking back at the events of one year ago. "The Celeste family flatly rejected Great Master Waverly's request for cooperation. They insulted him and even humiliated him in front of many people. Ben, wouldn't it be great to see the Celeste family overcome with rage when they see the products of the person they insulted in the place where they used to rule?"

"More than that. I've been feeling guilty ever since. I could only watch without being able to do anything. I really want to make up for that. Great Master Waverly's products are very much in line with the Store's demands. You know yourself how they've grown to this point." After that, Ethan refocused on his cell phone, reading the report given by Hazel.
