New Manager

"Sir, this is the new manager I told you about yesterday." Benedict introduced a young man who looked boyish. His hair was neatly styled with a slight tuft at the front.

Ethan's gaze went straight to him. However, all his expectations of a manager who was older or at least like Benedict were instantly shattered.

He glanced at Benedict with a doubtful look.

Realizing that the Velvet Vault's new manager immediately bowed. "Hello, Mr. Ethan. My name is Bevanka Joshua. Mr. Benedict has my complete data. I will do all the tasks you give me well."

Even his voice sounded crisp, typical of a teenager.

Ethan hesitated even more.

"Sir, this is Joshua's file," Benedict said, handing Ethan a thick folder.

The man wearing a white shirt today immediately took it and read it carefully. However, some of the words there managed to shock him into wide-eyed surprise. He stared at Joshua intently, not hiding his surprise at all. "This is your real data?"

"Yes, Mr. Ethan," Joshua replied quickly.

"How long have you been working with Mr. Grant?" Ethan asked again.

"Three years," Joshua answered everything honestly. "Mr. Grant is my idol, so I wanted to work with him. Incidentally, my grandfather was friends with him, so I had his full support."

Ethan's left hand moved to cover his slightly open mouth. He was still in a state of disbelief.

It turned out that behind Joshua's appearance, like an unreliable teenager, was hidden his extraordinary identity and talent.

Ethan suddenly chuckled as he realized how ridiculous he was. Whereas in the past, he had always adhered to the principle of not judging someone by their appearance, but now, he had forgotten that and almost underestimated Joshua.

"From now on, you can work. Your job today is to ensure the survival of the Velvet Vault. I don't care about how you deal with Madam Celeste's side, I just want a clear end result. Do you understand?"

Joshua hurriedly nodded. "You can entrust this matter to me. I will prove it and won't let you down."

Ethan's satisfied smile was immediately visible. Of course, Joshua was one of those people who was very reliable. "Go!"

Joshua nodded again before he left Ethan's office in Pasaraya.

Benedict stared at his departure until he was completely out of sight and then looked at Ethan. "Then what are you going to do, sir?"

Instead of answering, Ethan smiled wryly as he tapped his fingers on the desk in a slow rhythm. Then he stood up, picked up his black coat hanging neatly in the corner of the room near his desk, and put it on while walking towards the door. "Come on!"

At the Velvet Vault, Joshua was standing in front of the old employees. The situation there was tense, it seemed that the employees did not like the presence of a new person like Joshua, who suddenly claimed he was the new manager.

Of course, everyone here is by the direct choice of Madame Celeste. How could there suddenly be a new manager?

"The more you block me, the more bad things you will receive," Joshua said seriously.

But his words were actually considered funny by them.

Even the employees who had mocked Ethan yesterday were now chuckling sarcastically. "That's what we should have said. You can get bad things if you play with us. Do you know who this shop belongs to? Before we report you, you'd better get out of here!"

"I'm not leaving because this is my workplace," Joshua said.

"Your workplace? Hahaha, in your dream!" The employee retorted sarcastically. "Get lost! Don't dirty our place!"

But Joshua didn't care and turned his gaze to the employee standing at the far end with her head down. The girl was the most different from the others. "I want to see your manager. Can you call her?"

"Hey! Are you-"

The loud words of the employee who had been talking were instantly stopped when Joshua's right hand was raised, interrupting her to shut up.

"I'm not talking to you, so you'd better shut up!" Joshua glanced sharply and looked back at the employee at the far end. "Didn't you hear what I said?"

Suddenly, the employee looked down even more. "I'm sorry, but our Manager hasn't arrived yet," he replied in a voice trembling with fear.

"Not yet arrived?" Joshua tilted his head, feeling that the answer was ridiculous. His mocking gaze shifted to the fancy watch on his left wrist.

8.30.

Time enough in the afternoon to be called late.

"Is she always like this?" asked Joshua.

The employee nodded slowly.

However, before she could tell the truth, another employee had already interrupted her by pushing her roughly. "What are you doing? Are you going to get fired, huh?"

"Sorry." The word came out softly, making her friends chuckle even more.

"I'm going to report you to the manager!"

Joshua sighed when he saw this scene. Not wanting to waste any more time dealing with a cocky employee like them, he stepped aside and fiddled with his phone, sending an email with the new contract to Mrs. Celeste. Of course, he did so under his identity as the Velvet Vault manager.

At the Celeste family's ranch house, Madame Bernita, sitting in front of the dressing table while giving the final touches to her makeup today, only gave a quick glance at her cell phone, which had just emitted a notification sound.

She continued her activities carefully to ensure that her appearance was perfect.

When she was done, she grabbed her cell phone and opened it.

"What's this?" Mrs. Bernita stood up in surprise. Her hands were shaking with anger as she repeatedly read the neatly arranged sentences. "Damn it! I'll kill you right now!"

In an explosion of anger, she walked hurriedly out of the room while roughly pulling her tote bag on the sideboard near the door.

"Where are you going, Mom?" asked Alvina, who happened to be leaving for work, meeting Mrs. Bernita on the stairs.

"Pasaraya. Do you want to come?" Mrs. Bernita replied without turning around. Her steps quickened down the dozens of stairs.

Alvina was silent for a moment and then ran a little following her mother's departure.
