Chapter 4 : Sends her the Contract

After realizing that James was a Tactical Titan Mr.Hawkin crumbled to the ground.

Catalina observed with astonishment as even their esteemed retired military personnel, whom they had always boasted about as being incredibly formidable, was effortlessly defeated by James. The sight left her dumbfounded.

"I assure you, you will pay for this affront," Mrs. Carlos declared, her voice seething with anger.

"Please, I implore you not to take this to heart. I will ensure that everything is resolved," Riley's father pleaded, gesturing towards her servants to carry her son and his uncle as they made their exit.

Riley's father stood frozen in disbelief, unable to comprehend the situation unfolding before his eyes. The partnership they desperately needed to save them from financial ruin had been jeopardized, all thanks to the actions of James and Riley. If word reached his own father that he had failed to secure the deal, he knew he would face the dire consequences of being exiled from the family.

Aware of James' past actions, Riley's father decided to vent his anger on her instead. "Riley, unless you rectify this and secure a contract that pulls us out of this financial crisis, you will be disowned from this family," he lashed out at her. James, giving him a stern glance, caused him to cower in fear and hastily flee from the house.

Riley felt a heavy weight settle upon her as she found herself at a loss for what to do. She lacked the support of any company that could assist her in this dire situation.

Just then, James placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and reassured her, "You don't have to worry too much about it. I'm here, and I promise that together we will navigate any difficulties that come our way." Riley, hearing his words, felt a spark of hope ignite within her, though she wondered how James could possibly provide assistance. Perhaps his time in the military had allowed him to rise through the ranks during those five years.

"James, are you a high-ranking officer in the military?" she asked, seeking clarification. The manner in which he defeated Hawkin and the man's desperate plea had raised suspicions in her mind.

"No, not at all. I never held any rank," James replied with a smile, his hand scratching the back of his head. He had no intention of revealing his true identity to Riley.

Confused, Riley inquired further, "Then how did you defeat him?"

"Well, you see, I had a natural talent for martial arts during my time in the military. Despite not advancing in rank, I trained diligently and became exceptionally skilled," James explained.

Riley couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. Her earlier assumption that he held a high position had been misguided. After all, he had only spent five years in the military, making rapid promotions was highly unlikely.

She lowered her head, realizing that even if he had been a high-ranking officer, it wouldn't guarantee his ability to secure a contract for her.

I've made some revisions to your text while enhancing the writing style:

"Forgive me for this request, but I find myself in need of a small favor. I currently have nowhere to stay, and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to stay here... I assure you, I am more than willing to help with the household chores, including dishes and thorough cleaning," James politely asked, a warm smile gracing his face as he reached down to pick up his bag from the ground.

Riley gazed at him, taking note of his unchanged financial circumstances. However, his willingness to stand up for her touched her deeply, and she felt a profound sense of gratitude.

"You are more than welcome to stay in my room. After all, we are husband and wife," she said shyly, gesturing for him to follow her towards her room.

The clock struck 1 am, and Riley found herself unable to sleep, consumed by thoughts of the contract. James, who had settled on the floor to rest, heard her restlessly tossing and turning.

After James stood up from the balcony, he reached for his phone and dialed his secretary's number. Lisa picked up the call promptly, her voice filled with professionalism.

"Good morning, Mr. James. How can I assist you Sir?" Lisa asked, her tone respectful and attentive.

"Lisa, I need you to do something for me," James said authoritatively,

"I want you to secure a contract with Golden Enterprise."

"Understood, Mr. James," Lisa replied

"I will do send them the contract with Golden Enterprise. Rest assured"

James nodded, satisfied with her response. "Thank you, Lisa. I trust in your capabilities. Keep me updated on the progress, and let me know if there's anything you need."

"Absolutely, Mr. James. I'll keep you informed every step of the way," Lisa assured him.

With their conversation concluded, James ended the call and headed back into the room. He didn't mention his involvement to Riley, knowing that it would be more meaningful for her to discover the contract secured without his direct intervention.

As the morning sun illuminated the room, Riley slowly awakened, her mind still burdened by worries. She instinctively reached for her phone, to check the time To her surprise she found an email notification

"Partnership Deal with Odyssey Ventures."

She was excited as she opened the email. The message contained details about the successfully secured contract, outlining the terms and conditions that would bring financial stability to their family.

Riley couldn't believe her eyes. The partnership she had been tirelessly pursuing had become a reality and no company offered them had finally come.

With a radiant smile, Riley turned to James, who had been observing her with a keen eye.

"James, you won't believe it! We've secured the contract with Odyssey Ventures! We did it!" She leapt out of bed and flung herself into his arms, her skimpy nightgown fluttering around her.

James caught her, his hands instinctively grasping her waist to steady her. For a moment, their gazes locked, and Riley's cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she hastily disentangled herself, adjusting her clothing with a nervous laugh.

What was I thinking?" she chided herself, playfully slapping her cheeks as she turned away, her shyness getting the better of her.

As she glanced back at James, she couldn't help but wonder if he had played a role in securing the contract, but she quickly dismissed the idea, her mind already racing with other thoughts.
