Chapter 3

Liam rubbed his temples and waved a dismissive hand.

"Alright, alright. I'm glad you didn't really do that... Make big moves in silence. That’s how we do things.”

“And Amnon, thanks for holding down the fort these past five years. I know it wasn’t easy."

Liam, heir to one of the world’s most powerful hidden families, had inherited control at just thirteen.

In five years, he turned the family into a global force that operated in the shadows, its wealth so vast it didn’t even appear on Forbes’ lists.

Because Forbes couldn’t measure infinity.

Amnon smiled warmly. "Young Master, you’ve lost weight, got a little tanner… but your eyes—sharper than ever."

Liam chuckled, clapping Amnon on the shoulder. " Stop trying to make me feel better. Five years in the trenches will do that to any man.”

“Now that I’m back, it’s time to visit the company.”

“Oh, and handle the photos and videos those people took. I’m not ready to go public just yet."

Amnon nodded. "Consider it done, Young Master."

Liam slid into the Lamborghini, exhaling as the door shut. A thought crossed his mind: 

‘Money may not buy happiness, but I’d rather cry in a Lambo.’ 

It was a meme he’d seen online years ago, one he’d laughed at back then.

Now, he realized the joke had been on him all along.

"Young Master," Amnon started, his tone darkening. "For years, TitanCorp has been secretly supporting the Nina and her family.”

“That’s how they went from nobodies to Riverside City elites in five short years.”

“And yet… that woman still betrayed you. Should we cut ties with them?"

Liam’s gaze turned cold.

"Nina’s got talent, I won’t deny that. But since we’re done, TitanCorp has no reason to back them anymore."

Amnon let out a breath, clearly relieved by Liam’s decision.

Halfway to TitanCorp, Amnon received a call. It was urgent business and it had to be dealt by Amnon.

He insisted on dropping Liam off first, but Liam waved him off.

"Go handle it. I’ll get there on my own. Honestly, all this grandeur is a bit much for me right now. I’ll take my scooter. Less hassle."

Amnon hesitated, but in the end, he obeyed.

As Liam sped off on his motor scooter, Amnon watched, a rare smile tugging at his lips.

"The old master would be proud Mr. Liam."

Liam had always been a prodigy. His grandfather, the patriarch of the family, had handed him the reins early, trusting in his potential.

But during college, the old man decided Liam need to live an ordinary life.

That’s where he met Nina, the woman who made him believe in love, in a different future. He had married her, cut ties with his past, and chosen a simple life.

His grandfather hadn’t stopped him.

Now, Liam finally understood why.

As he pulled up to TitanCorp, memories flooded in.

This company had been his first true test, the one his grandfather threw at him when it was on the brink of collapse.

Under his leadership, it not only survived. It dominated.

Now, it stood as the nation’s top enterprise, valued at over hundred billion.

Parking his scooter, Liam stared up at the skyscraper, nostalgia and pride swelling in his chest.

Just as he was about to step inside--

"Hey! Liam?! What the hell are you doing here? Are you here delivery pizza?”

“Perfect timing! I’ve been looking for you!"

A sharp, mocking voice cut through the air.

Liam sighed. He knew that voice.

Kevin Nolan.

Nina’s younger brother strutted toward him, arrogance oozing from every step. A pack of lackeys followed, laughing like hyenas.

Liam turned, his expression unreadable. "What do you want, Kevin?"

Kevin sneered, shoved Liam hard in the chest. "Oh, look at you, acting normal? Not leeching off my sister now? Is this the way how you suppose to talk to me?"

Liam sidestepped, avoiding the touch. "And what gives you the right to talk to me like that, Kevin?"

Kevin barked out a laugh, his goons joining in.

"Listen to this asshole!”

“For five years, you were just my sister’s lapdog, wagging your tail whenever she called.”

“And now? You think you’re some kind of big shot?”

“Newsflash, Liam! Stand all you want, you’re still just a dog."

One of Kevin’s lackeys smirked.

"Yeah, in the world of money, a broke guy like you isn’t even worth the dirt on our shoes. What the hell are you so proud of?"

Another scoffed, suddenly spatting on the ground.

He pointed the spit when he smirked at Liam.

"I got an idea. If you lick that clean, and I’ll give you ten grand bucks. Sound good?"

Liam’s expression didn’t change.

But his fingers curled slightly at his side.

This was going to be fun.
