Roland Lafayette stood atop the rubble pile, watching as the excavators tore through the last of the old shopping mall.

He had been looking forward to this moment for days, ever since he had taken charge of the demolition project and it was also an opportunity for him.

The mall had been a blight on the community for years, and he was determined to raze it to the ground.

"Bring those walls down!" he shouted over the roar of the machinery.

The excavator operators nodded, revving their engines and pulling back on their controls.

The metal jaws of the machines bit into the last of the walls, sending clouds of dust and debris spraying into the air.

The work crew cheered as the walls crumbled, revealing the interior of the building.

Roland rubbed his hands together with glee. This had been his dream job, and he had poured every ounce of his energy into it.

He had spent countless hours planning and preparing for the demolition, and now it was finally happening.
