Noah sneered. He was sure that Ruby knew what Noah was talking about. However, the woman tried to argue.
"Can you speak more clearly, Noah? You shouldn't have brought our divorce into this. Remember, we're already separated. There is no more relationship to talk about, including the divorce." Ruby emphasised that point to Noah.
Noah smiled bitterly. He looked at Ruby with a sharp movement of his eyes. "Then, why are you standing before me to insult me?"
Noah stopped his sentence momentarily to stare intently at Ruby's face. "You shouldn't have bothered to come if you only intended to care for everything I did. Didn't you cut off everything?"
Noah looked away. He was disgusted by Ruby's presence in this place. Noah had come to the party because he was about to be announced as the next head of the family. But he had to meet the raving Ruby to organise it.
Ruby exhaled in annoyance. She felt that Noah was very stubborn. Noah never even respected her opinion. Ruby just wanted to change Noah's personality a little to become a man with a strong stand. But now Noah was insulting her, which made Ruby feel angry.
Ruby was concerned about Noah. She had been expecting Noah to defend her. But now Ruby realised that Noah was just a loser who always ran away from a problem until Ruby thought that parting ways with Noah was the right choice.
"I am increasingly convinced that parting with you is not worth regretting. You should have been a more assertive man. How could you want to rely on a woman to do you a favour?" Ruby shook her hair as she looked away from Noah.
Noah looked at Ruby from the side. Her pretty face hadn't changed, but he didn't understand why Ruby's demeanour had changed so much. He even remembered when Ruby had defended Dario, who had deliberately insulted her.
"Do you think I'm not a real man?" Noah asked with a very serious face.
Hearing Noah's voice, Ruby turned her face to look at Noah. She looked at Noah's stern face. But she answered him without hesitation. "Yes, you're not a real man. You can't even defend yourself, Noah." Ruby wanted Noah to understand her bad attitude.
Noah smiled wryly. He stood before Ruby with a stern face. Even he had never looked at Ruby like this before. He would always look at Ruby gently, very different from this moment.
Noah was still watching her with sharp eyes. During this time, Noah had founded such a big company. He was a great man, yet his ex-wife always looked down on him because she didn't see his good side.
Noah used to believe that Ruby was his true love who would accept him for who he was. But Ruby has betrayed him.
"Noah, you really can never change," Ruby spoke firmly.
Ruby waited for a response from Noah. She wanted Noah to act immediately, but she only found a silent Noah staring at her without speaking. That made her even more certain that Noah didn't have any stance. To the extent that being called an unreal man was something Noah deserved.
Ruby knew that Noah had only come here to seek a job, but in reality, Noah still loved her and wanted to follow her wherever she went. It made her very sick.
"I'm warning you that you shouldn't follow me anymore. You don't have to pretend with all this just to find out about me." Ruby pointed at Noah's face. She spoke in a loud voice.
"I never followed you." Noah denied Ruby's accusation.
Ruby smirked. She knew about Noah's lies. "You don't have to lie to me. I know that you still love me very much. But Noah, you should understand that our world is different now. I'm no longer anyone to you. So just do as I say." Ruby affirmed.
Noah looked at her with a calm expression on his face. But his hands were clenched tightly after he heard Ruby's painful words. He couldn't even hide the pain after hearing Ruby's words that gave a strong stab to his heart.
Ruby's gaze searched Noah's body. She didn't see any reaction from her ex-husband, which disgusted her even more. The man still stood like a mindless statue.
"I'm so sorry why I had to talk so much with you. I should have known that you were a useless man who wouldn't be able to do anything. I was the one who was too stupid to think that you could turn into a more assertive and useful man like other men in general. But you're just a loser who has nothing." His resentment made Ruby say many things to Noah.
Noah looked at her with disappointment. He had tried so hard to take back his rights so that he could admit his true identity to Ruby.
After getting it all, he wanted to give Ruby a happy life because he thought she had accepted him. But he didn't expect that the woman he loved was only concerned about profit.
Looking at Noah, who just stood there staring at her without giving any answer, Ruby couldn't take it anymore. "I guess I'm just wasting my time meeting you here."
Ruby tapped her foot loudly before she finally left Noah's presence. She left with a feeling of resentment.
Noah paid no attention to Ruby's departure. He didn't even turn his head to stare at Ruby's departure from him. But suddenly his cell phone rang. He immediately looked at his cell phone and saw an incoming call from the general manager of his company.
Without waiting long, Noah answered it immediately. "Tell me, is it something important that you're interrupting my time?" Noah spoke firmly.
"I'm sorry, sir. I heard about your divorce from Mrs. Ruby. But right now, there is something important that I want to ask you. Will the cooperation established in Mrs. Ruby's company continue?" the man asked.
"Sir, after hearing about your divorce, I have stopped the cooperation with Madame Ruby's company. And I was just waiting for your confirmation to approve this." The man spoke up again.
The truth was that Noah had not only given Ruby some of his money to build a company. But secretly, Noah had helped Ruby to provide financial resources from her core company and made a large cooperation contract so that Ruby's company could grow quite well. But Ruby thought that it was because of her hard work.
Noah heard that. He was silent for a while and smiled wryly. Until after a split second, he spoke up again. "Go ahead. Think of it as a final gift for her." Noah spoke firmly.
