The sound of a loud horn blared, drawing Jeremiah and the older security officer’s attention to the car that made it and they saw a black BMW Jeep.

“She’s here,” the older security officer said, a look of surprise on his face.

Jeremiah, who just realized that the driver of the black BMW Jeep was the housing agent he had called— thanks to what he heard the older security officer say—groaned.

He got a good look at the woman and thought that she was nice-looking and on the older side, which wasn’t what he expected because she had a youthful voice over the phone.

“I guess you were telling the truth,” the older security officer said.

Jeremiah looked at the man in uniform and with a cocky smile replied “What? You thought I was lying to you earlier?”

“My apologies. I was only doing my job. You can never be too careful about these things” The older security officer lowered his head slightly as he apologized.

“It’s fine. I too would have done the same. Anyway…” Jeremiah looked at the Jeep

As Jeremiah and Page drove through the estate, Jeremiah got the opportunity to have a good look at the houses and it would have been an understatement to say that he was impressed by what he saw. He expected nothing less from an estate owned by his family. Very soon, he saw Page’s jeep’s taillight indicating that she was about to go left. Seeing as how there was no junction or intersection in sight, Jeremiah realized that she was about to park.Jeremiah did the same. He turned on his motorcycle’s left blinker and followed Page to park in front of a massive house that was surrounded by a fence— just like all the other houses in the estate.Security was a pivotal part of the estate’s appeal, so every house in it had a gated fence that acted as a second layer of security in case someone managed to go through Desmond and his partner at the entrance gate. That, however, had never happened since the creation of the estate, but it didn’t hurt to be cautious.Page turned off her car’s engin

Jeremiah went straight for his bedroom where he collected his thoughts, coming up with things he needed now that he had returned to Bakers View. Then, after making a mental list of everything, he left the house, went outside the fence where his motorcycle was still parked, got on it, and drove into town. His first stop for the day was getting clothes for his massive closet, so he drove all the way to the one clothing store he both had experience with and liked how their clothes were. He went to The High Fashion Emporium. He parked in front of the store, got off the motorcycle, and walked towards the entrance. The last time he was there, the convoy of luxurious cars he arrived in drew a lot of unwanted attention from bystanders, and the entourage of security guards that surrounded him and Kingston as they exited the cars didn’t help. Now, with just him and his motorcycle arriving at the store and walking through the entrance, nobody paid him any attention. He was basically inv

“Good morning, Kingston. I’m at the High Fashion Emporium, the clothing store we went to the day we traveled home to meet my father” Jeremiah said.[“Oh! Page had told me not long ago that you just moved into the Grand Blue estate, so I guess you’re already preparing to fill your closet”] Kingston had told Jeremiah to take the clothes he was given in the castle back to Bakers View so he wouldn’t have to waste time doing a shopping run. However, Jeremiah refused to do so because he didn’t want anything that would remind him of who he was. After all, he was trying his best to distance himself from his past as Lord Crimson—until his memories of the past finally returned.“That’s right,” Jeremiah replied. Kingston took a deep breath and sighed. [“So what can I help you with, young master?”] said Kingston, who knew that Jeremiah was only calling to ask for assistance, which he had no problem with as he was always ready and happy to serve. “Do you remember that I was given a special acc

That guy is someone you wouldn’t want to mess with on a good day, let alone a bad one and I’m not going to stick my neck out for you and beg him to show mercy because the last time I did that for that idiot Bruce who disrespected him almost as badly as you did, I almost got my fingers broken”]Scared after what he had just heard, Lucy’s legs started to tremble more violently and almost gave out. She couldn’t believe the mess she had just put herself in. If only she had believed Jeremiah when he told her he was an Ultra VIP member of the store, she would have been able to go her own way, safe from any punishment, especially one as terrible as broken fingers. What can she do now? Beg? Would that even work?Every worker in the store, who knew what happened a couple of weeks ago, still thought Jeremiah was some kind of underground crime lord and everything the manager told her over the phon

Jeremiah drove all the way to a little fast food joint not so far from the High Fashion Emporium. It was a place he had heard about when it was first opened but hadn’t really gone to because it was in the expensive part of town. Now that he was there and could afford to eat what he wanted, he used the opportunity to quench his cravings.Jeremiah parked in front of the restaurant and went in.He had seen videos and pictures online of the restaurant from food review content creators, so he was quite familiar with the look of the place even though he had never been there before until that moment.Jeremiah walked to the counter and ordered what he wanted to eat. The lady there was very nice and welcoming, just like the review said, then he waited a few and was given what he ordered. The look was amazing but the smell was something else, especially with his heightened sense of smell. Jeremiah hadn’t even eaten yet and he was already salivating.“Please enjoy,” the lady at the counter said.

“A trap,” Jeremiah said after observing the situation he was in.He shifted his gaze between everyone there and then he locked his eyes on Eric.“So this was your plan from the very beginning. Pretend to be an innocent kid who bumped into me and while I’m distracted trying to see if you’re okay, you steal my wallet from under my nose. After that, you create some distance between each other and wait long enough until I notice what you did, knowing that I would chase after you to get the wallet back. Looking back at it now, I thought it made no sense why you didn’t disappear after stealing the wallet— like all other pocket pickers do so that they don’t risk getting caught when the victim finally realized what had happened. But not you. You wanted to get caught because your actual goal was to lure me here to whatever this is” Jeremiah said.Eric smirked.“Wow, you sure do talk a lot. Everything could have happened a lot quicker but you had to talk and talk and talk, trying to help me lik

“My name is Charles Ludwig and your time to pay for what you did to my father and younger brother has come” Charles threatened.Jeremiah was silent for a moment as he pondered his next words then he groaned when he got them. “So your father and brother told you what happened back in Crimson Fall. Did they also tell you just how dumb what you’re trying to do is? You do know who I am, right?” He asked.Charles chuckled cockily and then replied:“If you’re asking me if I know that you’re that man’s son then the answer is yes. I know exactly who you are and you can thank my father for that. My younger brother, Paul was just as shocked as I was when we both found out and he didn’t want to believe it at first but then he thought about it and realized how the pieces fit together”Jeremiah smirked when a thought came to his mind.“That guy, huh? Why don’t you just say the name—?” Jeremiah asked but then froze and widened his eyes as he looked at the goons around Charles “So that’s why. You d

With his heightened sense of perception, Jeremiah saw all the attackers coming at him in slow motion and exhaled as he got ready to deal with them. He didn’t even bother using magic to handle the situation, thinking of it as overkill for regular humans like them, so he stuck to his fists. He also limited how powerful his attacks were because one strike from him at full power was nothing short of a death sentence to every human in existence. As a matter of fact, a strike from half his strength was enough to kill and that gap was expected to increase the more time passed because with every second that went by the closer he got to regaining his full power from the ring around his finger. Jeremiah treated the twenty goons like how an adult would treat toddlers, using as little strength as possible to subdue them and using their own attack momentum against them. One after the other, he dropped them to the ground, breaking her arms and legs in the process so they couldn’t get up to atta

“Thank you all for coming. We promise to get even better items and invite you guys for an even better experience in the near future. As for those who won the auctioned items, your items will be ready for you when you leave so be sure to get them on your way out.” The auctioneer took a deep breath and sighed— happy with the turnout of the day’s auction as it was the most successful one he had ever hosted.“I have been Evans Nelson, your auctioneer for today and I’ll be seeing you guys really soon,” The auctioneer said, bowed in respect, and walked away while the bidders clapped for him.Since they had accomplished their purpose for being there, everyone started getting up from their seats but instead of leaving like they normally would, they hung around. They talked to each other, discussing the experience they had with that particular auction, while their eyes were discretely on Jeremiah, waiting for the perfect moment to talk to him. They had been planning their approach ever since

“Two hundred million dollars!” Andrew’s words echoed through the entire auction house. “Wow,” the auctioneer said, a strong look of amazement adorned on his face “To think that I wouldn’t even get the chance to call the starting price before it got pushed to such an insane amount. Looks like I can always count on you, Master Andrews, to make this auction very interesting.” Though everyone was annoyed by Andrews's offer, the auctioneer was elated. Since the price had been made to start at two hundred million dollars and he was to get five percent of that, his ten million dollars was already set.Ten million dollars, however, wasn’t enough for the auctioneer. He was greedy— wanting more money—and for that, he had to see if the other bidders were willing to up the price. Martha had said earlier that none of the other bidders should bother bidding when Andrews had taken interest in any of the items being auctioned because he was always going to outbid them and that pissed the auctionee

Hearing the murmurs being made about the Black card made the auction staff who Jeremiah had handed it to become conscious of the fact that he was holding such an important and valuable item. “Holy shit! I’m holding the Sentry Bank Black card in my hand right now,” the staff member said internally, doing his best to maintain composure. However, it proved to be quite a challenge, as his hand trembled from the nerves acting up.“Hello?” Jeremiah snapped his finger in front of the staff’s face, bringing him back to reality after he seemed to have been lost in his own world for some seconds“Any time today please” Jeremiah grimaced, then shifted his gaze to the card payment machine in the staff’s hand as a silent way of telling him to process the payment he was there for.“I’m terribly sorry about that, sir.” the staff said hurriedly then started preparing the transaction. He keyed in ten million dollars into the card payment machine and then inserted Jeremiah’s debit card inside. All th

Huh?” The auctioneer said, acting and sounding surprised as he looked at the content of the box twice to make sure he hadn’t made a mistake. ‘Why is a plastic eyeball in here?’ The auctioneer thought.Just then, a commotion erupted as the bidders complained, letting their frustrations and anger known. “A plastic eye? What the hell?” One of the bidders said.“Is this some kind of joke? We waited through all that bullshit just for a fucking plastic eyeball?! Do we look like children or something?” Another bidder complained. “Is that what we are expected to pay ten million dollars for? A stinking plastic eyeball?! Since when did this auction start doing comedy shows between the presentations?”“Whosever idea this is better get fired for pissing us off ‘cause what the actual fuck?! Didn’t they say that it wasn’t going to be locked so why can’t I open it?” He complained in a low voice, making sure the microphone attached to his ear couldn’t pick up what he was saying, then he looked at the bidders who were starting to have concerned expressions. The auctioneer could see the bidders' already minimal interest in the mystery item gradually vanish, which lit a spark in him to fix the situation as quickly as possible.“Hey,” the auctioneer turned his head to the left and called to the staff who had given him the box. “Yes, sir?” The staff shifted closer to the auctioneer."I remember vividly being told that the freaking box would

Jeremiah had his hand on his chin.He focused on what was under the cloth and tried using his heightened senses to see if he could figure out anything about it besides the fact that it was a box. With his hearing, which was greater than a bat’s, Jeremiah had what could only be described as radar— the type used in science fiction movies to know exactly what something was just by sound alone.“Huh?” Jeremiah said after he had tried using his radar as best as he could but realized that it wasn’t working.Well, not that it wasn’t working as he could picture everything else in the area that wasn’t in his field of vision with the radar but the item underneath the cloth that was to be auctioned was undeterminable.‘What’s this? Why can’t my senses pick up anything?’ Jeremiah asked himself, finding it very strange. He focused even harder, using the fullest range of his radar, which allowed him to have what could only be called omniscience as he could perceive everything in the room, but stil

“For the next item, I have to inform everyone that there’s a little treat or should I say catch to it as that’s the correct term to use here,” The auctioneer said and the other bidders groaned in confusion as complaints flew everywhereUsually, all the rules are given at the start of the auction so why was the auctioneer trying to bring something new now? The bidders wondered and weren’t appreciative of what was happening.“What exactly do you mean by that?” One of the other bidders asked just as the worker with the item to be auctioned stepped forward.“First of all Master Xavier, I know that this is very unconventional but the client that provided us with this item explicitly instructed that we should start the bidding price at ten million dollars. The second thing they requested is that we give it to the first person who makes a bid for it which means that there isn’t going to be a competition for who can pay the most as whoever raises their paddle first wins the item. We are also

All the other bidders squeezed their paddles furiously and growled at the disrespect they just received. How dare a young lady like Martha talk to elderly men who ranged from a few years to some decades older than her like that?Besides Jeremiah, she was the youngest person in the room but at the same time, she had the gull to speak so confidently. Was she looking down on them just because her master spent thirty million dollars on a quill? How Ludacris of her to have this level of hubris they thought. They will show her what they are made of… was what they all had in mind as they turned away from her to face the auctioneer and went ahead to make their counteroffers. Each counteroffer was with an addition of one to three million dollars and every time someone counter-offered, the auctioneer would state Andrew’s automatic counteroffer of an additional five hundred thousand dollars to the last called amount. Anytime he does that, the other bidders would look at Martha to see if she has

Just have your assistant provide us with a location and our company will bring it to you as soon as possible” The auctioneer said while looking at Andrew and Martha“Thank you” Andrew replied. The auctioneer faced the rest of the audience and said “That was just the start of our extremely thrilling and captivating auction so if you missed achieving that prize then do not fret, I have more impressive items behind me as you can rightfully see. With that being said, please bring forth the next item”Immediately after the auctioneer finished calling for the next item, the worker with a long box came forward and then held it up for the auctioneer who opened it and showed that it was a sword inside. This sword was known as the sharpest sword in the entire world. It had a black handle with gold patterns on it. There was
