Mason walked into the boardroom extremely conscious of what looked like wagging tongues that followed him all the way from the lounge to the elevators and was now accompanying him most chivalrous into the board room.
The members all ceased talking immediately he walked into the room, and Mason just had to raise a brow at that, he would have thought that his executives were too busy to gossip so early in the morning.
“Sir, come with me please.” Rita Donovan immediately hurried to Mason's side and pulled at his arms, Mason's brows raised even higher if that was possible.
“Okay Rita, speak.” He ordered in the safety of his office, he had already began to sense that whatever was happening was bigger than he had originally thought.
Michelle hesitated In front of the Wilson's mansion. She knew that they had no reason whatsoever to help her, but still she harbored little hope. Emerald was betrothed to her cousin Jason, and Ric Wilson had only been in love with her sister Scarlett for as long as she could remember. It should be that hard to seek their help, they had ties and connections with her family, intimate ties for that matter, and surely they would want to help her as a result? But still she hesitated. Ric Wilson might be in love with her sister, but he had been insulted and disregarded because of the said love, that Michelle was no longer sure if it was love or simply masochistic tendencies coming to light. She also remembered humiliating Emerald so vividly and been beaten for it, the truth
“Where on earth did you get that?” Ric asked in awe after Michelle's departure, he was pretty sure his sister could not have caught Mason in such a compromising situation, in fact he was sure of it, but there was the picture, and he saw it with his own eyes. He was intrigued in truth, and he could not help but study the picture again and again. It was a very passionate embrace indeed, and was a clear proof of Mason's infidelity.“Don't tell me you bought it as well?” Emerald laughed as her brother's expression was quite hilarious indeed, she was pleased though. If her brother could believe it, then Scarlett definitely would.“What's there not to buy?” Ric laughed, he was also very pleased. He would finally get his overdue revenge on the Wildes happily ever after. He was already relishing the utter look of betrayal that would cross Scarlet's face as soon as she saw the picture.“You are demonic sister, do you know that?” Ric asked Emerald with a grin, and she smiled right back, if the
Jason was honestly surprised when he was grandly summoned to the Wilsons mansion that morning, but that is not to say he was not suspicious, oh he was suspicious indeed. And he said as much to Emerald when she came up to him that morning.“You do not trust my brother.” Emerald said with a smirk as she observed Jason, deciding that perhaps he was not so dense after all. Jason stared at her with overflowing suspicion.“Me? Trust that bastard? Hell I probably trust him as far as I can throw him, which is obviously not very far.” Jason grumbled as he got into the car and Emerald took the will to reduce the chances of him changing his mind.“Careful, that bastard just happens to be my brother.” She murmured and Jason snorted unrepentantly, and Emeralds formed a fist on the steering wheel.“Yeah yeah, like I care.” He chuckled, and Emerald ignored him, deciding that maybe he deserved what was coming to him after all.~Scarlett stared at her sister in surprise, given their previous argument
“No.” Scarlett denied despite the evidence staring her right in the face. “No! No! No!” She cried, imitating a rocky motion on her feet as she stared at the picture in front of her, and held her arms crossed across her chest as if to protect her fragile psych from the onslaught it was about to receive. Michelle scoffed.“Denial I see.” She laughed, but there was no mirth behind it, it was simply a spiteful little sound that showed pure contempt for her sister and nothing else.*No!” Scarlett yelled again, so loud that even Michelle flinched back a little. “I'm refusing to believe what is obviously fake and orchestrated to ruin my happiness!” She yelled, looking at her sister right in the eyes, and Michelle could not help but swallow nervously, she could attest to the fact that that statement was meant solely for her and her alone.“So I'm the one after your happiness am I?” She laughed again, a short mean sound, but Scarlett was not backing down this time, she knew she had to fight no
Jason was not surprised by what they wanted, he knew he was about to be used in some way when Emerald had requested his presence. He stood before the Wilson's Mansion with a contemplative look on his face, there had been too much history between them, and he was hesitant about walking into the enemy's hands.“It's alright.” Emerald tried to encourage without sounding pushy, and judging by how he took a deep breath it was working.“Whatever you hear there, it's within your rights to refuse my brother's advances if you wish. Don't fret.” At this Jason nodded with a proud smile on his lips, and he took a deep breath before taking the necessary step, he went in.“Hello brother.” Michelle excitedly called. “The bait is coming in.” At this Ric grinned, as he was simultaneously joyous and sad for a moment like this? He was going to milk every drop he could put on the boy.“Hello Jason, come on in man.” Ric laughed as Jason loitered in the hallway, he could feel it, every fiber of his being t
Scarlett almost wished she could take back her words as she watched the shock on his face, almost, but when she thought back to him and Rita Donovan locked in a very intimate embrace, the feeling of regret faded away fast, leaving behind rage.Mason laughed. He laughed and laughed as he stared at his wife like he would a stranger.“Why are you looking at me like that?!” Scarlett screamed angrily, if there was someone that had the right to stare at the other with complete and utter betrayal coupled with blame it was her, her! Not him, her!“Because I wondered where you went?” Mason said softly, but that only raised Scarlett's ire, as she felt used and humiliated beyond reason, she was supposed to be the one doing all the things he was doing and enacting, she was the one that could no longer recognize him, not the other way round.“Oh spare me the dramatics!” She snapped, turning her back to him as she did so, her arms folded across her chest.“Sometimes I wonder if you are high on hard
Rita Donovan was truly surprised to receive a call from Gerard the next morning; she had become quite acquainted with him while she still worked for the previous chairman.“This is a surprise indeed.” Rita laughed into the phone, she had no reason to laugh really, just whatever disaster had happened for him to seek her out .“Why did you really call Gerard?” She asked, and there was silence on the other end as if he was contemplating her question.“Rita, when you worked for the late Chairman we used to be quite close as we both had similar purposes, looking out for the company and protecting the Wildes from the inside, remember? He asked, and Rita inclined her head in confusion.“Well I do remember, but what point are you trying to make here, why are you deflecting, what's going on?” Rita asked, and Gerard sighed.“The boss and his wife had a big row, yes just today. It was about you actually.” He ended, and Rita frowned, she had no idea what this was all about. A row about her?“Wh
Vivian had had time to think, to reminisce on her actions, she had been in a holding cell for days, and had had time to reflect on her terrible and selfish actions. How could she have forgotten how she loved her little girl, she thought back to when Scarlett was a lovely little girl, and to her, Scarlett had always been very special and close to her heart.Although Vivian was not totally on board with having children so soon, all her misgivings vanished when Scarlett was born and she looked into those enormous green orbs for the first time.Growing up, Scarlett was stunningly beautiful, so beautiful that she could not simply take her daughter to the park without people stopping to stoop down and compliment on her little girl. But through it all, she had remained lovely and meek, beautifully gliding her way through life, and Vivian was content just sitting in the sidelines and watching her daughter manipulate the spotlight to her heart's content. She was going to be a star!
