Scarlett met Mark close to the edges of flowers that she had always thought were a menace but now shielded her from the reporters outside and she watched as they still cried for her to come down and she smirked feeling like some secret spy or something, served them right.
“Hurry it up lady!’ Mark whispered scream at her and she almost yelled back that his obnoxious voice would be what would give them away if he was not careful but she didn't, and chose to roll her eyes instead as she settled into the seat beside him.
The sound of the car finally drew the reporters attention from her window and one of them cried that she was escaping, and they raced after them, begging her to come back or at least pose for a picture, and she laughed happily when they turned the corner and finally lost them. Mark glanced at her with a smile
The media went crazy over Mason’s entrance, and Mason himself was shocked that he could behave so grandly, he was confident in his movements and his voice more assured than it usually was, it was like he put on a different skin, it felt sublime, it was wonderful indeed. He wondered if this was what actors usually feel when they donned on the skin of their characters and peel their own flesh away. Although it was alarming how easy it was to act, he wondered if it would ever become something of a habit, where he could wear different faces and step into different skins as often as he wished. Scarlett was thinking the same thing too, he thought. The way she came like a whirlwind and reminded him that he was anything but a loser, the way she single handedly came up with a closing speech for him that was as remarkable as his entrance. He knew though that she had not completely forgiven him, and he ached to wipe off the tension that still lingered betw
Ric paced up and down the length of their box at Rogue's as Brown looked on an expensive cigar on his lips, and he executed rapid short puffs from it, the feeling calmed him as he thought back on his humiliation, he thought back to Mason looking down at him from the tip of his nose and Brown's hand shook again in rage. That peasant, he thought. Wealth should not be given to just anybody and that Mason looked the most entitled as he climbed the stage like he lived his whole life on it. Brown needed to humiliate him, taking his power from would not be enough, he needed to humiliate him in different ways, and as usual his devious mind was already scheming. Scheming was what he did best after all, he was a master at it, and there was nobody he had met in his life that he could not beat. Nobody has cunning. Ric dropped his empty glass on the table with enough force to shatter it and made Brown flinch awake from his thoughts as he glared at the idiot. Ric w
Scarlett stepped out of the car feeling like royalty and held on to Mason. Fallon's was closed for the night, and as a result there was an eerie stillness to the air, giving it an atmosphere of magnificent beauty and terrifying splendor. The huge restaurant lumbered high up above them, and the glass of its walls took on the color of the night sky, and it was all a big gray black. But as they moved closer the whole building lit up at once and the extensive fountains flared up causing fluorescent light to dance on the crystal floor, and as Scarlett stepped into the wonder with her magnificent shoes, it was like stepping into diamond encrusted waters.“Oh my God.” Michelle breathed as she tore from the window and hurried down to see the real thing. “Michelle!” Scarlett laughed, and standing on the fluorescent waters she looked like a creature of the deep with her cascading curls.“Hello Mason.” Madam Rodney was for the first time in her life at a loss. She was used to greeting her son i
“Are you still going to work for them?” Mason asked aghast as he watched Scarlett dress up the next morning, he could not understand it, especially not after last night and he worried for her. There was nobody at that table last night with good wishes to her and yet she would insist on living and working with them? Mason shook his head and wondered briefly if it was a woman thing before he dismissed the notion from his mind with a quiet thanks to the heavens that Scarlett was not a mind reader. He looked at her again and noticed the determination in her eyes, she was not going to back down from this. She had every right to be there and she knew it, but Mason was still worried and as long as she insisted on affiliating herself with that family, he would always worry.“I will be fine Mason.” Scarlett sang for the up tenth time as she hopped around in one shoe, looking for a place to seat. Mason sighed and rolled his eyes before clutching her on the arm.“You are so clumsy sometimes.” He
“And be sure to address this issue with your d*mb Jason.” Madam Rodney said in a dismissive voice, as she walked slowly back to her seat. “I am sure he is somewhere trying to conjure an equally not so bright plan. I will not stand for foolishness.” Madam Rodney's voice was void of emotion as she spoke slowly. She was giving no room for disobedience and Elicia had to put in a great effort to quell the spark of rebellion in her that always seemed to rear its head whenever her mother made decisive statements like this. But she also knew the consequences of said rebellion and as a result fought against herself actively. She needed to be cautious it seems, her place in the family's fortune was now more uncertain than ever. She and her son were feeling more like outsiders of late. The will was yet to be decided, this much she knew, so for now she was willing to bid her time, willing to lay low no matter how painful it will be. She would do it for her future, their future. No matter how hard
Scarlett could read the fear in his eyes. He was being silly if you asked her, she knew men were a bit slow emotionally but she never thought they were this slow.“Don't be dramatic Mason.” She laughed happily as she bounced on her toes. “I would be glad to renew our vows.” ~“Did you say Peka’s Garden?!” Scarlett screamed at her thick headed husband and he just nodded cautiously, his eyes clueless, he really had no idea why she was screaming. Peka's was where her favorite celebrity couple got married and she could have sworn she told him about a million times already, but here he was interrupting her make up session and dropping the bombshell on her casually. Men, Scarlett rolled her eyes again.“Alright! You have to leave.” Michelle said as she came over to shut the door on Mason and he simply raised a brow at her drama. “Now!”“We have been married for five years, Michelle.” He smirked at her and she greeted her teeth. “It's a little late for this don't you think?” Michelle rolle
Mason smiled as he and Mark waited patiently for Jonathan Young. Mark, Mason and Young were the three musketeers in college, that was before Mark decided that his calling was to be a hobo and travel the world with a faded guitar and the most rickety van screaming at the top of his lungs lyrics he thought were too cool for the world and been high on an infinite supply of weed, and before Young decided to move to Asia to complete his degree in medicine. Mason chuckled a little at this and Mark turned to look at him with a glare on his face as he sighed impatiently.“I can tell what you are thinking, but I was simply on a world cruise! How often must I say it!” He yelled and Mason threw his head back in laughter. He knew Mark did not really do all that but it was funny nevertheless.“Anyways.” Mason said as he tr
“Crush them.” He said, two words only and even his friends jerked up as they stared at him, but his eyes were on Shawn and Shawn alone. The bastard still had the same cocky grin on his face as he downed yet another glass of expensive drink he did not pay for. Assholes like Shawn deserved everything bad they got. Those pompous ignorant bastards that believed that because of the money they inherited they were better than everyone else, and decided that they could trample on whomever they pleased. Shawn was one of the most rotten of the bunch of people like him, constantly flaunting rules and living without restraint, not caring who was hurt in the process of his living life to the fullest. Not even caring about that car he smashed into while drunk driving from a party and the dead girl that was brought out from the car. Everyone knew who did it. The cops knew. Their cliques knew. Hell the whole school was aware but no one could do anyt
