Chapter 6

What should he do now? Where should he begin to spend this money? Mason wonders as he brings out the phone to check the alert again. It is real! And time is ticking away. He has to do something fast before today ends or he will face unknown consequences.

Mason braces up and thinks of buying things he wants. He wants so many things. He can buy it with it and get himself up. He smirks as he finds himself in front of John's supermarket.

His workplace where he was just fired. Isn't that amazing? Wouldn't they be shocked that he is here, getting some things with an unimaginable bundle of money that can never get to them in a day.

Mason walks in with pride, even with his tattered clothes, because he knows he has something worthwhile. He opens the glass door and steps in.

For the first time, after working there, the place looks beautiful and more radiant to him. The AC brimming from the supermarket gives him more coolness and he feels on top of the world.

He has failed to see the amazing things and how cool the supermarket looks due to the insult and disregard he gets from here. Is this how people come in when they know they can afford what they want to buy? A feeling of satisfaction! He enters fully and passes by his ex colleagues standing in the cashier.

"Mason!". She calls out in surprise. Mason turns to look at her and gives her a smile.

"Are you here to beg? You know the boss will never take you back since he has been trying to get your ass off his workplace." She says with a smirk plastered on her face.

"I'm not here to beg. I'm here to get something." Mason retorts back to her. The girl is in shock because Mason never talks back to her. Mason doesn't talk often and literally behaves like he is dumb or deaf.

He doesn't have the balls to talk back at them, not without how wretched looking he is. He knows he is not in their class or level and they don't fail to remind him that.

Mason walks away from her and picks a cart picking things from the shelf.

"Wait Mason! You are here to steal, right. If you don't get out of here now, we will call the police." Another colleague said to him. Mason rolls his eyes at them and keeps doing what he does. Just being alive and seeing him really makes them uncomfortable.

"You are scaring the customers and making them uncomfortable." Another said.

"Well your noise is gaining their attention. You are the one scaring them here. Keep it down." He retorts back to him. The guy's eyes widened at Mason's audacity to talk back at him.

"How dare he? He's obviously here to steal. I'm informing the boss. He should be behind bars." He says and rushes towards Mr John to inform him.

When Mason picks what he personally needs, which isn't that much. It's junk food and some beverages. He knows if he keeps picking that way, he can never buy what the money in his credit account can attain. He has to order many things, things that will cover up the money immediately.

"Mason! What are you doing here? You have no business in my supermarket anymore. Remember you've been fired." Mr John said as he walked towards him.

"Yes. Maybe poverty has stricken him to the extent that he doesn't understand words anymore." The cashier said and scoffs annoyingly at him. She hates him so much now for talking back at her.

"I'm here to buy some things, Mr John. Goods worth millions." He says to him. Mr John goes silent and stares at him for sometime before he erupts into a loud laughter. Not only him, but his colleagues present were enjoying the joke made by him. The customers passing by couldn't help but laugh as they wondered where he put his brain.

"I want everything from that shelf to there." Mason points out and acts indifferently. These guys do not believe him but are they ready for the biggest shock of their life?

"Where did you get the money? Do you have the money to pay for that?" Mr John thunders at him with annoyance. He can't believe a nobody like Mason can keep disturbing his day repeatedly. Mason was giving him an invisible headache but maybe he will give him more if what he's saying is true.

Mason brings out his credit card and gives it to the cashier. "You can check out the amount there. After that, will you let me purchase what I want?" Mason replies to them. Having money is good, it gives you the courage you never knew you had.

The cashier grabbed the card from him in a haste.

"Check the amount in there." Mr John orders. He is beginning to feel a little heat under the numerous ACs in his supermarket. What in the world is Mason pulling? He just sacked him not too long ago. It hasn't even been an hour since he sent him out.

"Even if he really had, I'm sure he stole it. He may have gotten it under illegal means." One of his colleagues says.

"The bank will confirm that. We will wait for the bank to confirm that?" Mason retorts back at them and rolls his eyes in annoyance. These people really think low of him. Like, he can never make it in life. Truly, he hasn't but he knows he is on the steps of making it.

"Sir!". The cashier calls out to Mr John. Her skin has turned pale as the figures on her screen keep sending daggers at her. She couldn't believe her eyes.

"What's that? It's fake, right." Mr John said with a smirk.

"Mr John, you would love to see this." She stuttered. Everyone can guess something is wrong with the way she is nervous and fiddling with her shirts. Mr John rushes towards her and faces the screen to himself.

"What? Mason! Where did you get this huge amount of money?" He asks shocked and can't believe his eyes. What is happening?

"Now that you've confirmed it, can I get what I ordered? And please calculate this. I got it for myself." Mason says placing the cart in front of the cashier.

"No, we have to send a notice to the bank to confirm it. I just fired you not too long ago. Where did you get this?" Mr John asks confusedly.

"You can do whatever you want but you should process my orders while waiting for confirmation from the banks. I have no time to waste."

"And if we don't." One of his colleagues asked.

"I'm a customer. You should." Mason replies to him. Mr John nods and orders his workers to attend to him while they wait for bank confirmation.

The cashier keeps looking at him and wonders whether Mason was one of those billionaire CEOs who were in disguise. If so, she has failed woefully. For a long time now, since Mason has started working with them, the cashier now notices a striking beauty from Mason which she has never seen.
