007. A DATE.

"Where the hell have you been all day?" Ciara questioned as he quietly let himself back into their apartment.

The home of the Fallon was a huge mansion divided into six different apartments.

The main flat was the home of gram Fallon, the owner of the entire building and it was on the top floor. Right next to her apartment was the home of David Fallon, her first son and Ciara's uncle and he lived with his wife and three kids. After that was the home of Laura Fallon, her second child. She was divorced but she lived there with her only son.

Then on the bottom floor, there was Florence's apartment, where she lived with her husband and her son, George. It used to be Ciara's home as well until she got married. Her grandfather insisted that the young couple would need privacy and so she moved to a vacant apartment with Dominic.

Then the last apartment had been left vacant as a guest house for any visiting friends or extended family.

"I got a job." He said simply as he took off his shirt.

She acted like she hadn't heard about his encounter with Maria. "A job, so? what good is that going to do me?" She was happy that he finally got a job but she wanted to know if it was at the company she hoped it was.

"I got a job at the DnD real estates." He said, smiling at her.

Her eyes widened as he made mention of the company. Suddenly she looked more interested at what he wanted to say. "Really?" She asked, excitement written all over her face.

"Yeah. The CEO is quite a nice man, he didn't even care that I was unqualified to work at the company, he hired me right after I got there. I even started today, that's why I'm just getting back now."

"That's… great. But what's your position there?"

"I am the personal assistant to the CEO himself."

"Really?"

"I know it doesn't sound that great but at least it's a start."

"Yeah."

"You know, working so close to the CEO does have its perks."

"Like?"

"I have access to all the documents and files in his office, and I saw gram Fallon's company name, among the list of companies trying to work with me- uh I mean us. The company." He corrected himself quickly.

"So, has he said anything about it?"

"No." He shook his head. "The truth is, he hasn't even taken a look at the file. The reason is because I think they're dealing with the rich clients first."

"Are you trying to say my family is poor?!"

As shocking as it may sound, the Fallon family was nothing compared to his family, and some others, but of course he couldn't say that to her. "No, that's not what I meant. You know there are some people who have connections in high places, I mean really high places, those are the people they are dealing with currently.

But not to worry, I promised to help you and I'm swearing to you now that I will."

"You're just a personal assistant, I doubt if there's much you can do."

"just promise me one thing."

"Look Dominic, I don't know –"

"Just one thing Ciara."

"Okay, what is it?"

"Promise me that once I'm able to help you out with this, you'll go on a date with me."

"What?"

"That's all I ask. A date where it's just you and me. A day without gram, without your parents and definitely without your cousins. Just us."

Ciara felt bad that he felt he had to something for her before they could go out. "Okay, I promise. But before then, to celebrate you getting a job, let me take you out."

"What?" Dominic froze up, he wasn't sure he heard her clearly.

"Nothing special. Just me buying you lunch to show that I'm happy for you."

"Wow I'd… I'd really love that."

"Great. Do you have to work on Saturday?"

"No. I don't."

"Great. Then Saturday it is."

"It's a date."

"I'm glad you finally decided to take your place as the CEO, young master."

"What are you doing here Stanley?"

"Your grandfather wants to know when you intend on coming back to the mansion."

"Coming back? You mean, to live with him?"

"Yes. Like you used to."

"Used to, meaning in the past. I have a whole new life now."

"I'm aware, you're now the live -in son- in -law of the Fallon family. Are you satisfied with that? Sire, I heard they don't even like you. There are a lot of young women out there who would consider themselves lucky to be your bride. Come back––"

"But I consider myself lucky to be Ciara's husband. The fact that her family doesn't like me does not mean that I don't care for my wife."

"My apologies young master, it wasn't my intention to upset you. But if that is the case, why don't you want to move back in with her? I'm sure you grandfather would be thrilled to hear that—"

"No." He replied coldly. " And just so you know, I didn't take the position because of my grandfather, I did it for my wife. She needs help and I want to support her.

I don't think I can ever forget the way to the Shay manor, but I don't think I can ever forget the day I was kicked out either. So going back to live there, and seeing that k6an… is out of the option for now.

And please Stanley, don't show up out of nowhere like this again. If I want to see you, I can call you or just talk to Preston. "

"Miss Kimberly."

"Mr Shay, good morning."

"I need to ask you something, and I would be thrilled if you would be honest with me."

"Of course sir, anything."

"Okay. Preston wnd Daniel, what's up with them?"

"What do you mean sir?"

"Are they related? Or maybe they're friends?"

"I'm not exactly sure about that, but one thing I do know is that, after Mr Stanley brought Mr Adams to head us, Mr Bakare was hired two weeks later. And from what I heard, Mr Adams was the one who hired him. Personally."

"Okay." So something was definitely going on between them. He just needed to find out what it was.
