"Sir, we've arrived. Let's get off!" said a delighted Tamara.
A slightly confused Bryce responded, "Tamara, why are we stopping here? I thought you would take me straight to the Milano residence."
Tamara was about to laugh when she heard that innocent sentence, but she quickly controlled herself.
"Sir, apologies if I'm presumptuous, but you might be able to see your appearance," she said.
"What's wrong with my appearance? I'm wearing normal clothes," Bryce said innocently.
"Well, that's the right analysis. That's precisely the problem. You look too ordinary. People won't think you're special looking like this. I'm sure they won't believe a word you say or care what you have to say," Tamara explains.
Bryce could only stare at that. He did not understand some of the rich people's game rules.
"The clothes you're wearing are quite shabby and don't even match your athletic body. The choice of colour and type is also very wrong," Tamara criticised the man before her.
Bryce could only manage an embarrassed smile when he heard all that. But Tamara confidently put her arm around him and led him into the store.
The few pairs of eyes that saw the two people felt very confused. They couldn't believe what their eyes were seeing.
"Is that woman crazy? How could she bring a man with such an inappropriate appearance here?"
"Where did she find such a man? I think she's under a lot of pressure."
Some of what people were saying rang in Bryce's ears. He then felt very embarrassed and inappropriate for being there.
"Calm down. We should just ignore them. Don't take their words to heart. If they knew the truth, they would swallow their words themselves," Tamara said soothingly to Bryce, who was in her arms.
Some of the staff on duty there were also very confused. But since they knew Tamara, they could only smile confusedly.
"Excuse me! I need you to find some tops and trousers for this gentleman. I also want some of your signature suits to try on for him," Tamara ordered the male staff.
Bryce couldn't help but chuckle and responded, "Please help!"
The male staff immediately took Bryce to a specialised room to be measured and tested on some of their clothing sets while Tamara waited in the lounge enjoying a meal.
"Sir, these are clothes that fit your size. Please try them on!" the male staff member said in a friendly manner.
Bryce was amazed when he saw his appearance in the mirror. A set of signature suits from top brands made him look like a high-class urban man.
"Wow, I don't think I've ever looked this good. So this is what it feels like to be part of the higher-up people." Bryce muttered.
After trying some of the clothes, Bryce returned to wearing his previous clothes. The staff accompanying him were even surprised because customers who buy clothes there usually put them on immediately, while Bryce did not.
"This customer is unique," muttered the male staff in confusion.
But before returning, Bryce asked for directions to the restroom.
"Wow, the clothes in this shop are so expensive. I could never afford them even if I worked my whole life," Bryce said, his attention distracted by the price tags.
However, his focus was shattered when another customer suddenly admonished him.
"Eww. Who let a bum into this premium store? I doubt the cleanliness of this place. Hey, trashy, get out of here," the woman said, making a scene. Several customers in the same area immediately saw and gave Bryce disgusted looks.
"Hun, why are you shouting?" A man who appeared to be the woman's lover came over when he heard his girl scream.
"Did this man do something to you?" The man was ready to punch when his other hand grabbed Bryce's shirt.
The woman shouted excitedly, "Honey, don't touch this man. The germs and bad luck factor will follow us."
Bryce, who witnessed everything, could only be shocked in disbelief. He did not know these two, but they were behaving so badly.
"Hey, I don't understand. Who are you guys?" he said with such innocence.
The man, who saw his girlfriend panicking, became even more enraged.
"Shut the fuck up, you hobo man! I won't let you off the hook for touching my girl."
Bryce then defended himself, "Dude, I think you misunderstood."
But because of Bryce's defiant words, the man threw a punch that sent Bryce crashing to the floor.
"Where is the stuff? There's a showdown going on over there.
Some visitors started calling out to the staff as they felt uncomfortable.
The store manager soon arrived in the crowd.
"My apology. I apologise for the inconvenience. We will address this issue immediately."
The manager immediately signalled the guards to drag Bryce out of the store.
"Hey, you misunderstood. I'm not guilty at all," he said in defence.
"Speak not for now. I will report you to the police," she said firmly.
That sentence was like lightning in the day. Bryce knew it meant dealing with the police would not end well for him.
"Very good. Make sure that guy goes to jail!" the couple shouted at Bryce.
