That day was a confrontation day with Mira.
Mira's warm smile quickly faded as she noticed Vere's unusual coldness. She had expected a warm embrace and a joyful greeting from her husband after being apart for several days.
Instead, Vere seemed distant and unresponsive. "Vere my love, what are you doing here? You surprised me, and you didn't tell me that you had arrived," Mira questioned, her eyes searching for an explanation in his stern expression. Vere avoided her gaze and simply motioned towards the nearby chairs. "Please sit down, Mira. We have a lot of things to discuss and questions that need answers."
Mira hesitated but took a seat, her mind racing with confusion and concern. "And why should I tell you that I am here? Vere begun. Can you tell me where you have been all these days and you always say that you will meet your friend Ivie? That's not what I found out. You always seem so busy," he retorted, his voice tinged with frustration.
And suddenly, Vere let out a sigh and finally made eye contact with his wife. "Mira, it's not that simple. There are things I need to tell you, important things and it's very important." Mira's bewilderment deepened.
"Wait, what's going on here?" she asked, her brows furrowed as she tried to make sense of the situation.
Mira's confusion turned into anxiety as Vere's words only added to her uncertainty. "Good questions and I suppose I asked you; that's why we're here, for you to answer those questions," Vere stated, his tone heavy with the weight of the conversation.
Mira felt a sinking feeling in her chest. "What do you mean, Vere? I don't understand," she replied, her voice trembling with apprehension. Vere's patience seemed to wear thin.
"All this time, you don't understand? Okay, then I'll help you understand," Vere said, his anger surfacing. At that moment, a folder containing information and proofs regarding the Fuentez company was handed to Mira.
She took a look and read what that file contained, and after that, she took it and sighed. "Ah, well, okay. I'm sorry if I lied to you, but I need to," she conceded. Mira sat in silence, processing Vere's words and the folder now in her possession.
As Veres continues to confront his wife, suddenly Mira's eyes fill with tears as she tries to bridge the emotional gap between them, approaching Vere for a hug. However, for the second time, he rejected her and ordered her back to her seat.
"So, come on, Mira. For how long have you been doing all of this?" Vere continued to press, his frustration still evident. Mira, her resolve unwavering, looked deep into her husband's eyes.
"Let me explain, Vere. You should understand. I did all of this to save us and my family as well," she replied, her voice tinged with a mixture of guilt and determination.
"Oh, and why did you keep it all secret? You made those moves without even telling me a single word as your husband; you didn't even show me some respect, Mira," Vere said, his anger simmering beneath the surface.
That time, in the conference room, the couple engaged in a heated discussion, their emotions running high. Mira, her voice strained, asked, "Why are you pressuring me with all this?" "Because all that you did was totally wrong," Vere answered.
Vere let out a sigh of relief, his frustration still evident. "Do you blame me now? Is it my fault, ey? You can't even admit that you've been seeing different people; you always say it's Ivie," he added.
Mira vehemently denied the accusation, saying, "That's not true, Vere." At that moment, Vere produced the pictures he had taken at Mira's events. Mira was always taken aback because Vere had collected enough evidence to support his claims.
"Wait, where did you get all of this? Mira asked, her voice tinged with surprise and worry. Vere's anger still boiling, he responded, "What else do you want to know? These pieces of evidence are not enough for you. If you want more, I can show you more." His voice trembled with frustration as he confronted Mira.
At that moment, Mira turned to Vere, and with a mix of frustration and regret, she told him, "If it's not because of me you wouldn't be where you are today."
As Vere's anger deepens more, he opens his suit and shows Mira the evidence that he has been shot, and he responds, "Ah, that's because of what you're doing. This is the evidence that I got shot because I am following you, so I witnessed and saw with my own two eyes what you were doing." Mira's eyes widened in shock when she noticed a wound on Vere's shoulder.
Her anger gave way to concern, and she quickly approached him and kneeled for apologies. "Vere, I'm so sorry," she began. But Vere ignored her, and, without a word, Vere walked out to the conference room door and left Mira alone, tears streaming down her face.
Vere hastily made his way to the car, with James following closely behind. Amidst his growing anger, Vere decided to pay a visit to Mira's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez. As they sat in the car, Vere and James engaged in a conversation. "Really Mira still won't admit to everything, and what hurts the most is that she even scolded me," Vere confided in James.
"I'm sorry for what happened, Mr. Vere. I hope you can resolve Mrs. Mira's issues," James responded, his tone filled with empathy. " I plan to head to Mr and Mrs Fuentez to let them know about Mira," Vere added While they were driving, they noticed a broken-down car by the side of the road, and a woman was struggling to fix it.
Vere instructed James to pull over and help the woman with her car trouble. However, instead of asking for help, the woman pleaded to be taken to a nearby hotel where there was a party she needed to attend and she got late. In the car, the woman introduced herself.
"Hello, my name is Crystal. Nice to meet you," she said, as James responded Hi Crystal Imm James and My boss Mr Vere nope just his friend, not a boss Vere responded while looking at James. . Vere looked at James and smiled. After fifteen minutes of driving, they arrived at the hotel and dropped off Crystal at the main entrance. She expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Sir James and Sir Vere."
However As their car was about to leave, another vehicle pulled up alongside them, and Vere recognized the driver as one of his business partners, Mr. Luke. They were invited to join the party, and Vere couldn't refuse. So, he and James ended up joining the party hosted by their business partner.
Vere and James found themselves unable to visit the Fuentez mansion due to their invitation to Mr. Luke's gathering. As Vere engaged in conversations with acquaintances and business partners, his phone rang persistently, and he noticed Mira's call. In response, he turned off his cellphone.
After some time, Crystal spotted them and decided to join their table. They all seemed to be enjoying the live band. Later, James excused himself to visit the restroom, leaving Vere and Crystal alone at the table.
"Mr. Vere, you denied earlier that you are Sir James's boss," Crystal remarked with a mischievous smile. Vere chuckled and replied, "Haha, yes." Crystal continued to tease him, "No, you are a business partner with Mr. Luke, right? Or did he tell me? Hahaha." Vere nodded and said, "So tell me, Crystal, is it okay to ask?" Crystal agreed, "Yes, sure."
Vere hesitated but eventually opened up, "Are you still...?" Crystal finished his sentence, "Married? Uhm, no, I'm not. But it's complicated," she replied. Vere looked thoughtful. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Actually, me too." Just as they were deep in conversation, James returned from the restroom.
By this time, it was nighttime, and Vere decided to bid Mr. Luke and Crystal goodbye. As they hit the road, in the distance, they noticed the flashing lights of a police vehicle and an ambulance.
As they drew nearer, they realized that there had been a car accident, and they recognized that it was like a Miras car involved in the incident. Vere hurriedly exited the car, but as the ambulance was leaving.
As Vere approached the police officer who was in possession of the accident report, he experienced a mix of apprehension and emotions. "Mr. Police officer, I'm the husband of the victim," he replied. "Are you serious?" the policeman retorted, appearing astonished. "Yes, sir," Vere answered. The policeman asked, "Which car?" "The yellow one," Vere said. "It belongs to Jefferson Cole, the owner of the yellow car." That time the police officer was waiting for Veres' reply. “Oops, ahm, sorry, it's not. I thought it was my wife's car, as it seems the same.” Vere said. “Oh, I'm with you,” the police officer replied."Thank you,” Mr. Police Officer Vere said. “It's ok,” the police officer answered.Vere stepped up to the car, which had suffered considerable front-end damage in the collision, to alleviate his mind. When he noticed that Mira's license plate number was different and that the two cars were not the same, his heart began to lift.He pushed his pal James, who was also examining th
It was a nightmarish situation for Vere, as he became the prime suspect in the investigation into his wife Mira's death. And now his confidant and trusted friend, James, was nowhere to be found, as he was only the hope for Vere, leaving him isolated and desperate. To make matters worse, Vere was unable to bid a final farewell to Mira, as Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez denied him that closure. All his efforts, all he had done for Mira and their envisioned family, had crumbled due to unforeseen issues in their marriage. It was a deeply distressing ordeal for Vere.It was the seventh day in the cell for Vere, who was informed by the police that he had a visitor. He was taken to a visitation room, where he saw Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez waiting for him. Vere greeted them out of respect as their son-in-law, but they ignored his greeting. "Mrs. Fuentez, how could you? After all that you've done for our daughter, we trusted you completely, but it turned into a mess," Mr. Fuentez lamented. "If you can re
As Vere stood in the dimly lit corridor of the prison, the echo of clanging doors still reverberating in his ears, he could not believe that this had become his reality. The outside world felt like a distant memory for him, and now he was thrust into this harsh and unforgiving environment.Vere observed the other inmates, each with their own stories and circumstances. As he found his place in this bleak setting, he couldn't help but wonder what had led him here. It was a story that he would come to share with a select few over time, a story that he couldn't forget.A fellow inmate approached Vere and introduced himself, looking at his face. "Hey, I'm Ted.""I'm Vere," he replied.Ted offered Vere some advice as they settled into their small, shared cell."I've been here for several years, and I know how the game goes inside this place, so you have to be vigilant," Ted said in a hushed tone. "Listen," he continued. "This place is rough, and you've got to watch your back. Keep your head
Days turned into weeks, and Vere had already adjusted to his life as an inmate. However, every day, he held onto the hope that a miracle would happen and that one day, James would surprise him, having overcome the coma from the accident. But he couldn't forget the events that had forever left a mark on his memory. One day, as Vere was taking a shower, he was unaware that danger was lurking nearby. Vere had thought that, after several days and weeks had passed, the conflicts would have subsided, but he was definitely mistaken, and that day would be his other day to be in trouble. Little did he know that some of his fellow inmates were still watching him closely, waiting for an opportunity to strike. After Vere had finished dressing and left the shower area, he was in for a shock. The same group that had been causing problems for him in the mess hall in the past few weeks had confronted him. Five imposing inmates surrounded him, their hostility palpable. Without warning, they seized h
On that fateful night, while Vere found himself in the dimly lit cell, he pondered whether he should accept the offer from Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez. It was the only remaining option for him to escape the confines of his prison, as there are no signs of James yet. After three long days of contemplation, Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez returned to visit Vere in his cell. Vere had been wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit. Unforgettable nightmare that had shattered in his life, and he had spent countless nights behind those unforgiving bars, yearning for justice. The justice system had failed him, and he had lost faith in it. However, the Fuentez offer presented a ray of light in the abyss of despair, even though there is no assurance if that is a good decision to trust them, as they once sent Vere to prison, but for now, Vere doesn't have any other choice but to accept. As he was desperately wants to get out of the prison. At that moment, Vere decided not to beat around the bush, and he ac
Three days after that fateful night, it was quiet in the prison, and most inmates were fast asleep. However, a group of determined individuals, including Vere, Tony, Johnny, Ted, and four others, decided to carry out their escape plan. They cautiously began their endeavor by crawling through the ceiling, timing their movements between the rounds of the jail guards. They reached the end of the crawl space and, one by one, started their descent. After successfully reaching the ground, they proceeded to sneak past the prison walls, with Johnny leading the way. However, as they approached a section of the wall, Johnny accidentally slipped, causing a disturbance that alerted the guards. All of them were caught except for Vere, who managed to evade capture. The prison yard was illuminated by the rotating searchlights, but Vere slipped away, crawling through the muddy terrain behind the prison building. He made his way to a dense forest and was closely pursued by the prison guards. Vere r
After two hours of traveling, Vere finally arrived in town and immediately disembarked. He started walking towards the place where Alexa's friend, Anthony Blair, usually stayed. Anthony worked on one of the trucks that transported fruits and vegetables to the big city. After a fifteen-minute walk, He finally reached the large truck where they loaded the produce. Without further delay, she began asking the truck drivers. "Hello, sir. Do you know Anthony Blair?" Vere inquired. "Yeah, the third truck," one of the truck drivers replied. He quickly headed to the third truck and asked, "Hey, are you Anthony Blair?" Vere questioned. Anthony responded, "Yeah, how did you know me? So, we know each other." "From Alexa. He told me to find you here," Vere explained."Are you a relative of Alexa?" Anthony asked Vere. "No, just a friend," Vere replied. "There's no mobile phone signal in Alexa's place, but I'm glad I found where she lives." "Yeah it is! so whats your name? Anthony ask Vere." At
On that day, Vere found a glimmer of hope through Crystal. "Mr. Vere, do you know that the police are looking for you everywhere, and there are reports about you all over the news?" Crystal asked. "It would be better if you turned yourself in, and I could personally take you to the precinct," she urged. Vere hesitated momentarily before responding, "I'm asking for your understanding, Crystal. Please don't reveal my whereabouts to the police for now. Let me first make things right, gather evidence regarding my wife's death, and handle the issues with the company." Crystal, concerned and willing to listen, replied, "I understand that you're not a bad person, and perhaps it was just a coincidence that you were at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'll help you until you sort things out." As Vere embarked on his quest to clear his name and find the truth behind his wife's death, he and Crystal formed an unlikely alliance, determined to uncover the secrets that had brought them togethe
