Chapter 15

“Jennifer what is it?” Green said coldly on the phone.

His intention was never to pick it at all, if not for captain jake forcing him, so that he could hear what she was about saying.

“Uhm, Green I need you to…”

“You need me to do what? Haven’t you done enough?” His voice became colder.

“That’s not green. What I’m about to tell you is different.”

“And what is it all about?”

Jennifer paused for a while in the line before saying.

“My cousin's brother-in-law is getting married and I want you to be there.”

That means one of Jennifer's cousins was getting married.

“Why do you want me to be there? Why can’t you go with that  boyfriend of yours?”

“I know, he’s supposed to be there, but I’m not the one who invited you. It was my Grand dad!”

And that was how Green’s coldness was being warmed up by only the Grand dad name being called. He knew the grand dad ever since he was at Jennifer’s house.

Apart from their great grandfather who took care of him before he died. Their grand dad was also a friend of Green and made sure the marriage lasted until this day.

Even though he wasn’t living with them, he always made sure to visit during the weekends and check on them. He didn’t attend last week, during which Green signed his divorce documents due to some health issue which he’s facing.

To hear that Green and Jennifer had divorce at this critical stage now is like stabbing him with a dagger in his heart. He wouldn’t be able to bear it, because he promised their great grandfather to make sure the marriage lasts.

So Green calmly replied.

“Okay, I'll  be there.”

“Location?”

“Mexico street. The Grand Mexico Hotel.” she responded.

“I want you to be on your best behaviour and don’t behave as if we're divorced, do you get me?”

“Okay, I wouldn't.”

Green cut off the line after he was done responding.

“Let's head to a boutique. I want to pick up one of the best suits there and attend Jennifer's cousin's sister’s marriage!”

“But why still hang out with that useless brat named Jennifer?” Captain Jake raised his voice a little as they exited the restaurant heading for their car.

Green gave him a cold look, which made him slowly bow his head and apologise for raising his voice.

“I'm not hanging out with Jennifer. I'm just doing all these because of her grandfather.”

As they reached the car, Green turned and held Captain Jake on his shoulders. Looking at him ‘eye ball for eyeball’

“He was one of the people who took me in. He loved and cared for me ever since their great grandfather who brought me in the past out. He doesn’t even know of my divorce so I’m expected to act as if we’re not divorced. No more questions, let’s enter the car and head for the shop,” he tapped Captain Jake's shoulders and pushed him to the other side as they got in the car and left Greenwich restaurant.

~~~~~~
At Queen’s road.
They were many boutique lined up and their salespersons active and vigilant waiting for customers to get some product of theirs.
The car halted just some miles away from the restaurant. Green didn’t need much attention while he shopped, Because he knew the kind of place he lived in. Any small show off and you’re now one of the most popular people
“Should I accompany you to get your clothes?” Captain Jake asked, as he turned off the car.
“No, stay in here I’ll go alone.”
Green came down from the car as he walked and looked for a boutique that would have what he was looking for.
His eyes landed on one of the boutiques
. The environment looked okay, and the suites which they had were matured and also good looking.
He entered inside only for the sales person to give him a ‘not so good’ look saying, “Please sir we don’t do transactions with the poor. None of our products here are below 10 thousand dollars, and they can’t be priced down. So if you don’t have up to 10 thousand dollars, kindly leave this minute.”
Green just ignored her as he went to the category with the tag : Suits.
He scanned and scanned till his eyes landed on one which matched what he was looking for. The suit had black Diamond all over the body, and no other person’s supposed to tell him that that’s an expensive suit. It might be the most expensive this boutique even has.
Green brought out his phone and scanned the  Qr code that was attached to the clothes and saw the price.
‘$200,000’
Two hundred fucking  thousand dollars!
The sales person just watched him furiously, with her hands folded and her right leg  tapping on the floor continuously.
‘Since this poor bastard wouldn’t listen to me when I say if he can’t afford this dress he should leave, then I’m going to teach him a serious lesson today.’ She said within herself.
“I believe  now you've seen the price of the suit. So please, do not waste our time and proceed to the cashier stand to make your payments as soon as possible,” she said with contempt.
Green just sneered as he looked at the saleswoman and proceeded to the cashier's spot.
He brought out his card and was about to give it to the cashier there to run it through her card reader and debit the amount only for the saleswoman to collect the card from his hand forcibly saying with rage, “What's this? What kind of card is this?”
She used her eyes to scan through the card and saw that it had no bank name, nor did it even have any card number on it. It only contained a gold design around the body and then a king crown Icon.
“I've never seen this kind of card before. Even the richest people in Galaxy City come to shop here and they never brought such cards.”
She walked until her face was closer to Green’s then she spat with rage.
“Tell me where the hell this card was gotten from or say Goodbye to Good life in Galaxy city!”
