Frederick leaned against his chair and rubbed his chin as they brainstormed. His daughter had just opened his mind to something they hadn’t thought of until now. Carlos Borges was part of the Valdez cartel a few years ago, and so was he. That was where they had first met. He had left the cartel long before the feud between him and Ernesto escalated. What Fredrick didn’t understand was why Ernesto had left San Diego to Carlos’s control. He was the stronger and the most influential of the two. At least that was what he had thought.
