JANET'S PLEAD

Stephanie watched as Jane left her house, tears streaming down her face. She turned to Mrs Allison, who was still fuming from their earlier encounter and said, "I'm sorry for that, Mum. Jane is going through a lot, and I don't want her to feel like she's alone."

Mrs Allison looked at Stephanie, her expression softening, and nodded. "I understand, Stephanie. I'm sorry for how I acted towards her. I just can't stand the sight of her after the way she treated me."

Stephanie nodded in understanding, then sighed. "Mum, I have to be honest with you. I don't want to have anything to do with my father."

Mrs Allison's eyes widened in surprise. "Why not, Stephanie? I thought you two have reconciled."

Stephanie shook her head. "We had, but he did something that surprised me recently. He's been a huge disappointment lately. He stole our cars and denied it. If not for the fact that he confessed to you, we wouldn't have known that he was behind the theft.
