Chapter 5

Stephen stepped out of the Rosegold Fashion Gallery building and spotted a shirtless guard outside. The guard had his arms folded across his chest, trying to keep warm. Stephen noticed a look of pity on his face.

Stephen asked the guard, "Hey, man. Are you sure about this bet?"

The guard replied arrogantly, "Of course, I'm not a baby who needs his mother's arms to sleep."

Stephen confirmed the guard's statement by saying, "Okay, I believe you."

If only the guard was willing to apologize, maybe Stephen would consider canceling the bet.

"Good luck!" Stephen gave the guard the middle finger and left the Rosegold Fashion Gallery area to catch a taxi back to Geoff's house.

While waiting for a taxi to pass, Stephen remembered his viral video. He was going to be featured in the Rosegold Fashion Gallery catalog soon. He couldn't let the video continue to circulate.

Stephen took out his cellphone and contacted William to remove his videos from social media. It wasn't long before the call connected to William.

"Hello, William."

"Yes, young master. Do you need anything?"

Stephen ordered, "Yes, I think everyone in Rosewind has seen my viral video. I want you to delete all my videos from social networks and prevent them from being re-uploaded."

William replied in a reassuring voice, "That's too easy for me, young master."

"Thank you, William. Please carry out my orders quickly."

"You're welcome, young master. I'm ready to carry them out." The phone call ended.

For people with unlimited economic power, managing information on social media was not difficult. Stephen was no exception. He put his wealth to good use.

After a while of waiting, a taxi finally stopped. Stephen got in and showed the driver the address of the house he was going to. Fortunately, Stephen's expensive clothes and different appearance prevented the driver from recognizing him as a viral pervert.

On the way home, Stephen was lost in thought, trying to figure out the best way to meet his wife, Fiona.

Arriving home, Stephen found the Geoff family's house deserted because it was late at night. In his heart, Stephen felt happy that he didn't have to meet his annoying brothers-in-law.

As Stephen walked into the room, he saw Fiona, the youngest daughter of the Geoff family, sleeping on the bed. She had wavy brown hair that flowed down her shoulders, and her face looked peaceful. Stephen walked over and admired her beauty before he smoothed out her blanket.

Stephen whispered as he leaned down to place the blanket over her body, "Sleep well."

However, Fiona's eyes suddenly opened as he stood up straight. Fiona muttered, "Stephen, is that really you in the viral video?"

Stephen's fear happened; Fiona had seen the video of some restaurant security guards beating him. As soon as Fiona's eyes fully opened, she froze, staring at Stephen's face in disbelief.

Stephen feigned ignorance, hoping to avoid the topic, "What video?"

But, Fiona was wide awake now, and she had questions that needed answers. "The video where you were beaten up at the restaurant," she clarified, rubbing her eyes.

Stephen didn't know how to respond, but he couldn't lie to her. "Yes, that was me," he finally admitted.

Fiona sat up and looked at Stephen with concern. "What happened to you? And why are you wearing expensive clothes?"

Stephen explained, "There was a bit of a misunderstanding in the restaurant. So, they fired me.” Stephen Paused, then he said, "And… now I have a new one." He hoping Fiona would leave it at that,

Fiona was still trying to process the information. "What kind of job?"

Stephen said with a smile, "I'm going to be modeling for Rosegold Fashion Gallery."

Fiona was stunned. "A model? But your previous work experience was just a restaurant waiter and beach cleaner!" She felt strange and couldn't believe Stephen's words.

Stephen said,"I know, it's unexpected. But Chelsey Shaw offered me this opportunity." He felt grateful for the stroke of luck.

Fiona asked, guessing the answer, "And the suit is a gift from her?" Stephen only responded to Fiona's question with a smile.

Fiona turned away from Stephen and reached for her phone on the nightstand. She quickly scrolled through the account that had spread the video of Stephen's beatings.

Fiona exclaimed, "This is impossible!" in a confused tone.

Stephen noticed that Fiona was busy typing something on her phone and asked, "What's impossible?"

Fiona showed Stephen her black phone screen and explained, "The viral video of you being beaten by restaurant security guards has disappeared from all social media! The video description has been deleted."

Fiona muttered, "This is so weird!"

Stephen breathed a sigh of relief, then lay half of his body on the bed. He was satisfied with William's fast work.

Fiona gazed into Stephen's eyes, her expression intense as she inquired, "Did you really misbehave towards Megan at the restaurant?"

Stephen didn't respond immediately. He locked eyes with Fiona, noting her mixture of irritation and calmness. "Are you feeling jealous?" Stephen playfully teased her.

Deep within, Fiona admitted, "Yes, I am indeed jealous!"

They had been married for nine months at the behest of Frank Geoff. The arranged marriage was a result of Frank's gratitude towards Stephen, who had saved his life from the treacherous waves of Bentguay beach when Stephen was just a humble beach cleaner.

The exact reasons behind Frank Geoff's peculiar decision remained a mystery. What was clear, however, was that once Frank had made up his mind, Fiona had no choice but to comply, unable to refuse or evade the arrangement.

Their union had faced opposition from various quarters due to the significant disparity in their social statuses, including Frank's own sons. Fiona, accustomed to having no say as Frank Geoff's daughter, had no option but to agree. Nevertheless, upon meeting Stephen, she felt, for the first time, a genuine approval of her father's choice.

Although Fiona remained unaware of Stephen's family background, she found him to be kind and handsome. In her eyes, he possessed a modest attitude towards wealth, a stark departure from the greed often associated with the less fortunate. He was neither a jerk nor a playboy, and that's what set him apart from the other men she had encountered.

They had also established a marital agreement, delineating the terms of their relationship. Despite its unconventional nature, a bond had formed between them.

Fiona responded with a sullen expression, "I asked you a question, and you should have answered instead of turning the tables on me!"

Stephen smiled widely as he replied, "I haven't done anything inappropriate to anyone. If you don't believe me, you can come to the restaurant and review the CCTV footage."

Fiona remained silent, indicating her trust in Stephen's explanation. After all, in her eyes, her brothers often displayed a hostile attitude towards Stephen.

Fiona asked with concern etched on her face, "What about your injuries?"

Stephen replied with a reassuring smile, "No need to worry. Someone has already treated me."

A questioning sentence from Fiona had warmed Stephen's heart. Even though Fiona had to marry out of necessity, the youngest daughter of the Geoff family never mistreated Stephen. This was what made Stephen unable to end the marriage even though Geoff's family was mean to him.

"Fiona, be patient! I will give you a better life than this and take you out of your father's house," Stephen thought excitedly.
