Chapter 6

That morning, Stephen woke up later than usual because his body ached. When he finally opened his eyes, he saw that Fiona had already finished dressing and was ready to leave for college.

Stephen asked, "Why didn't you wake me up?" He got up from the bed and then stretched for a moment. His body still ached from the fight he had the night before.

Fiona replied by checking the contents of her bag, "I have woken you up, but you seemed too tired, so I let you sleep." She looked at Stephen with pity, knowing how badly the restaurant security guard and Bryson had beaten him.

Stephen looked at his wife, then offered, "I can take you to campus. Just give me a minute to stretch my muscles and go to the bathroom."

The brown haired woman said, "No need, Stephen. Today I'm leaving with Billy."

Concerned that he might have missed something, Stephen rushed to meet Fiona after he finished in the bathroom.

Stephen asked, astonished, "When did he come here?"

Fiona explained, "Early this morning. He said he wanted to take a walk around Rosewind and had some business matters to attend to, so he offered to give me a ride to campus."

Billy Geoff was Fiona's third brother, only three years younger than Stephen, but already accomplished enough to manage a cow's milk factory that dominated the market not just in Rosewind, but in Southroses country as well.

Usually, Billy visited his parents' house in Rosewind every three months, but this time he came earlier.

Billy shouted from outside, "Fiona, hurry up! Let's go!"

Fiona replied, "I'm coming! Just a minute!"

Fiona hugged Stephen quickly, then she said, "I'll go, Stephen. Bye!" Even though they have never made love, they still have a good relationship.

As Fiona opened the door, Stephen met Billy's threatening gaze. Like Fiona's other siblings, Billy didn't like Stephen either.

Although Stephen objected to seeing Fiona leave with Billy, he could only let his wife go since they were brothers. Stephen couldn't prevent Fiona from interacting with Billy or his other siblings.

To calm his agitated heart, Stephen contacted Oliver.

"Hello, Oliver!"

The voice on the phone asked in the reassuring professional tone of a bodyguard, "Yes, Young Master. Is there any errand for me?"

"Where are you now?"

As a bodyguard, Oliver was in charge of keeping Stephen safe. He must always be on guard around his master or wherever he was assigned, even if he had to disguise himself or sleep anywhere.

"Not far from your house now."

Stephen looked out of the bedroom window, and from Fiona's room on the third floor, he saw Billy's Koenigsegg Agera RS driving out of the gate.

"Follow the Koenigsegg Agera RS car with the license plate ZT 888 BL that is just leaving the gate of the Geoff family's house. Inside are my wife and her older brother!"

Oliver firmly said, "Yes, I'm ready!"

For a moment, Stephen heaved a sigh of relief. Only then did he feel his stomach growling.

With heavy steps, Stephen headed to the dining room, but the dining table was quiet. Stephen quickly ate breakfast because he had an appointment with William to visit the Magnificent Emerald Group's office.

Bryson sneered as he crossed the table with Megan, "Apparently, the loser has woken up!"

Megan continued in a teasingly spoiled voice, "Jeez, he must be too tired from all-night sex!" Her hand touched Bryson's chest, then smoothed his already neat tie.

This morning, Stephen was in a good mood. So, he ignored a couple that was intentionally kissing not far from where he was sitting.

Megan said still in a spoiled voice, "Take care, Honey! I can't wait for you to come home!"

After finishing breakfast, Stephen headed for the dishwasher. As usual, piles of dirty dishes were waiting for him.

Even though the Geoff family had maids who took care of the house, they treated Stephen like a maid.

As the youngest daughter, Fiona couldn't do anything to protect Stephen. She couldn't even pursue the things she enjoyed, such as choosing her college major or deciding whom to marry.

Therefore, Stephen didn't want to burden Fiona with his complaints. Even though Stephen was sure that Fiona knew about his family's bad attitude, he tried to be okay.

The next task after washing the dishes was doing the laundry. Usually, he did his laundry and Fiona's clothes.

Stephen puts clothes in the washing machine when a black-haired woman comes, she speaks, "Wash my clothes as well! There are menstrual blood stains on them. Make sure they are really clean. I want to wear them again this afternoon!" said Megan, handing a yellow dress to Stephen.
