Chapter 7

Megan inquired, "Why?" Her eyes bulged like they almost jumped out of their sockets. "Aren't you interested in doing this?"

Megan was an opportunist woman, and she didn't like it when her wishes were denied, especially by someone she perceived as lower class.

Megan scoffed before striding away, "Don't worry, I'll toss you a fiver. I know you're down on your luck after being fired." She leaving Stephen in front of the whirring washing machine.

It was routine for Stephen to take odd jobs from Geoff's family to make some extra cash. For now, he couldn't risk revealing his true identity, so he reluctantly accepted the task from Megan. However, Stephen had a plan in the works for his brother-in-law's wife.

Megan was a peculiar woman, as cunning as a venomous serpent. Stephen knew he had to be just as unconventional in his approach to bring her down.

Stephen's eyes widened in shock at the sight of the dress, stained with blood. "Damn it!" To make matters worse, there were also numerous sperm stains on the bodice that made his stomach churn.

Before putting the gown in the washing machine, Stephen washed the dress under running water and then rubbed it after adding body wash to make it easier to remove the blood stains.

He shook off the disgust and hastily finished his laundry. "Shit!"

Stephen thought, "Damn Megan's dirty clothes are taking up my time! I have to take a shower to go to the Magnificent Emerald group!"

After taking a shower, he slipped into his new suit from Rosegold Fashion Gallery.

Stephen smirked, his mind buzzing with plans, "Just wait for my grand surprise, Megan."

The ringing of the cell phone on the table caught Stephen's attention after he finished dressing. It was a call from William.

Stephen greeted, "Hello, William!"

William answered, "Hi, Young Master Stephen."

He inquired, "Do I need to pick you up to go to the Magnificent Emerald Group office?"

Stephen reminded him, "Didn't I tell you not to drive me, William? Besides, you'll be in a Rolls-Royce. That would draw too much attention!"

William argued, "But you're the current head of the company, Young Master. People may look down on you if you arrive by taxi!" He did not want his young master to get into trouble.

Stephen reassured him, "Don't worry, William! I'll be able to handle it."

William replied, "I know. But, I feel sorry if you have to constantly take taxis when you travel."

Stephen spoke kindly, realizing William's loyalty to his family and that he wouldn't allow any trouble to come to his young master. "That's no big deal to me, William. Don't worry about me!"

Stephen convinced William once again, "I'm really alright."

William informed him, "Okay, Young Master. However, if you need my help, don't hesitate to call me. Oh yes, after arriving at the Magnificent Emerald Group office, you can meet Janis Aguirre. She's your secretary in the Magnificent Emerald Group."

"Okay, William. Thanks," Stephen said.

Finally, Stephen breathed a sigh of relief because William agreed to his request. After finishing talking to William, he put the phone in his pocket.

Before leaving the room, Stephen took a moment to admire his reflection in the mirror. "It's perfect," he muttered to himself, pleased with his appearance. Then he left to go to the Magnificent Emerald Group's office.

As he descended the stairs, Megan greeted him with a compliment and offered him some money. "Where are you going? You look very handsome today. Your clothes are cool," she said, holding out the money.

Megan sneered, making Stephen annoyed, "I didn't know that you are now working as a rich woman's man! How lucky you are, Stephen! In fact, just yesterday you were fired from the restaurant, now you've got a better job!"

Stephen replied with a threatening face, "Watch your mouth, Megan! Don't equate me with you who is willing to do anything to get the attention of rich men!"

Megan continued talking, "Stephen, I'm praising you. Why are you angry? I know living in the Southroses country is not easy. I approve of your big move to change your destiny. At least, your work isn't too hard and you can buy a small house for you to live in installments. I know you don't feel comfortable living here, right?"

Feeling it would just be a waste of time, Stephen left Megan.

Megan called after him, "Good luck, Stephen! I hope Fiona isn't mad at you!"

Stephen was grateful that he had told Fiona that he worked as a model for the Rosegold Fashion Gallery brand. He hoped she wouldn't be suspicious of him anymore.

Stephen traveled to the Magnificent Emarlad Group office by taxi. Half an hour later, the taxi stopped in front of a fifty-story-high building.

Stephen spoke to the receptionist, "Excuse me, I would like to meet Miss Janis Aguirre."

He asked kindly, "I'm sorry, but what's your name?"

"I'm Stephen Hudson."

Immediately, the two reception girls were surprised to see a handsome man claiming to be their mysterious boss. Worried about making a mistake, the receptionist immediately called Janis Aguirre.

"Hello, Miss Janis, a man named Stephen Hudson says he wants to meet you."

"Give him access to the VIP room!" Janis ordered.

With a worried face, the receptionist said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Stephen. I don't recognize you. Let me take you to the VIP elevator."

"It's okay," Stephen read the name tag on the receptionist's shirt.

"Thank you, Mary," Stephen said, making the reception girl blush.

On the elevator, his phone rang. It was Oliver. Stephen's feelings became unsettled at the thought of Fiona.

"The car that's bringing your wife stopped in front of a restaurant. I'm disguised as a customer. They're meeting a longish blonde man in an expensive suit. But…"
