A Mother's Wrath

Victor’s eyes remained locked on the door for a long moment after it slammed shut, his breathing heavy with restrained rage. Emma stood frozen, still trying to absorb everything that had just transpired. Her mind raced, but one thought kept surfacing above all others: “What else hadn’t Victor told her?”

She glanced at the documents still scattered across the table. The weight of his secrets now felt heavier than ever, threatening to crush the fragile trust they had worked so hard to rebuild. She swallowed hard, knowing that this was just the beginning.
